To answer your subtitles with the polar plunge. It's really not all that uncommon. People do this all the time in the winter. Depending on where in the uk the boxing day polar plunge is a thing. It's even crazier in Russia. Just look up winter water days in preschools. And yes they do have water days in sub zero weather. Mostly by dumbing buckets of water on themselves
