It’s a bit more complicated and you need access to your hosting provider, but you will have all variations of your domain under one domain as you can see on your screen. Otherwise, you will end up with this mess here.

So I had verified my site at one point late last year, but I did not download the .html file. My site is verified (so it seems), but there is a place in my wordpress site in the "Marketing and Integrations -> Traffic" section I think I am supposed to paste the .html into. Is there a way I can find and DL the .html? I have looked and looked and I can't find where that info is stored in my account.

If it's new website it might take up to 2 weeks to get indexed by google. You can always check if your site has been indexed by searching in Google site:yourdomain.com

do we have to pay to install FTP software and arnies clips are irritating when things don't go as planned....u make it look easy...its stressful
most web hosts have a "file manager" so you don't need an FTP software to upload files.
However if you have managed wordpress hosting, then there is a chance you can't upload anything

why you had to chose such a specific web manager like cpanel? couldn't you explain how to upload the HTML verification code directly on google.sites?
If I'm not wrong, cpanel is the most used software for shared hosting. In my view Google sites has a lot of limitations, although it's really easy to use.

Hi Paula, I'm not sure it's possible since you don't own the domain, it's google's domain. You can add google analytics, but not register search console.. as far as I know

usually this fails if the file is in wrong folder. If you are not able to resolve the issue, you can also try to verify search console with DNS: ruclips.net/video/1yBmv6UdyPw/видео.html

My site is available online, if you punch it in directly, but not if you search the address. I was told that I need to add local plus. Thats' okay, the file structure is similar, you just need to find wp-content folder, if you see it then that's the root folder.

an seo manager verified himself as the owner of my google search console... when I try to verify I get the message that I am not the owner. How can I take ownership from him and regain ownership (I never really had it!). Thanks!
I think he needs to add you as the owner as well. if that doesn't work, then verify the site using a method he didn't use (for example DNS verification)

This is Great...ALMOST. I have to use FileZilla to add Google Verification to an existing website. I am stuck. I find Root Folder but it's full of sub folders. asp_net, system_web, numbered file. Which do I choose and HOW do I get in?
do you have a folder like public_html or similar? you need to find the root folder of the domain, not the root folder of your web hosting... I hope that makes sense

should work for any domain, the only thing is that you need to place the file in the root of each domain own folder and not in the public_html.
@@tipswithpunch I done this and I can tell you how I solve it then you can make video for people. First off all problem is that when we have more then 1 site our .html file change into number like (2).html (3).html then we have to change it just .html no matter this is second or third site's file but just change it into .html like 1st site's file so, then it can be easily verify.

cpanel has moved several times, I would just google "your webhosting where is cpanel"
Please note that if you have managed wordpress hosting, you don't have cpanel. Also some webhosts use other than cpanel (like hostinger & siteground)

I don't know how clickbank works, but you need the following for this to work:
1. your own domain (not a subdomain from clickbank)
2. A way to pleace a file on your server.
If you don't have 1. you can't register with google search console.
if you don't have 2. there is other ways to verify your site with google, for example DNS verification: ruclips.net/video/VRCmKkzeeMI/видео.html

Hi Cusina, does it give you any error messages, or what do you mean you can't download the html file? Do you have google analytics on your site already? If yes, you can use that to verify Search Console.

If you only have one domain, then the folder you are looking for is public_html

you can open it with notepad, if you want something nicer, you can download Sublime text editor. I use that one for my code.
