@@Andrew260RS I mean, I've seen a notable difference from 2.6 to 3.0. Not just in power but also in drivability. We here in America believe in "no replacement for displacement"; in this case, I agree. I feel the additional torque not just down low but also in the mid and high ranges. Any turbo setup comes onto boost faster and more consistently. The transient response, meaning on throttle, off, and then back-on is better as well. To me, it's just a better overall experience. Also, RB30 blocks are a fraction of the cost of RB26's, and if you want a 24U block, forget about it. I think it's the hidden gem of the Nissan RB line. I have a question. Wouldn't the smaller 2.6 head on the 3.0 block. Raise the compression quite a bit. From what little I know about turbos. You want a lower compression rate. Something like 8.5 to 1. Instead of 12 to 1. With the extra compression. Is there any chance it could cause problems at high boost levels
@Daniel Bryant my RB30 has 8:5:1 pistons in it, so there are no worries. I run 19 psi on low boost, and with my build, I could run 30-45 psi on high boost. But I popped a head gasket and never got the opportunity to optimize and max out my setup. My issue was non-compression related. I am going to build another motor with 9:1 and balance it with methanol. However, If I had unlimited funds, I could build a motor with 12:1 compression on a 98mm turbo. The added compression would severely cut down on turbo lag. I could go billet block with dry deck, with a couple of tricks I know, and that would spool that turbo almost instant. But that's if I had an unlimited budget. I'm not there yet, yet! Good question tho. Keep doing your research.
Rb vs 2j, ls vs anything, cheap wine vs expensive, it’s all the same, yes the 2j/ls/cheap wine are loaded, strong, and popular, but the time, the aroma, the look, the sound, the beauty in design and passion of the craft are what really make them special. The RB isn’t the strongest or bulletproof, but God Damn is it sexy through and through.
Barras are heavy and they’re in an extremely heavy platform that’s slow. Skylines absolutely dominate xr6’s. And the 2jz is a stronger counterpart to the Barra.
If nissan are remanufacturing that engine and their could be a possibility that the next gtr will be powered by an inline six like the supra has yeah it's a bmw but going back to what is supposed to be is damn that would be a defining action that nissan is for the car enthusiast just like what they did to the z it's perfect the ups and downs of that car is perfect.
Run a cold air intake system into a pod box of a RB26 and listen to the turbo spooling. You don't sit in a Skyline you fall into it and You don't drive a RB26 Nissan skyline you experience it . ✌️🤘🇯🇵🇦🇺
RB26 sounds the best and seems to be more fun. but i think the 2Jz is more reliable and can definitely handle more power with the stock internals and more power overall. would be cool if nissan could make a new inline 6 similar to the rb26 that would be better than both the previous RB's and also the 2Jz's in every way!
Nissan is "re-making" the RB motor for U.S customers..,the twin turbos will be BIGGER than the early RB motor. Expect the cost well over "50K" for a brand new RB..
@@wesleygriffiths8496 more specifically they're reselling Skyline GT-R R34 for you via Skyline Restoration Program, and despite "restoration program" you can actually request them to source the car for you (with additional cost of course) then you must be guessing why people still waiting for 2025 rather than buy directly from Nissan / Nismo ?? Because the price starts from 400k USD (around 500k USD if you ask them to source the cars). AND that's just the starting price, if you say want to upgrade the engine (RB26DETT N1, RB26DETT R2 or even RB28DETT Z2), or specific paint (Silver Z-Tune, Midnight Purple etc) or any other accessories ( 320km/h Nismo speedometer, etc) then it will go around 1 million USD fast
@@driftking_dg9619 Skyline GT-R R34 was never cheap in the first place. Their original price range starts from 50k USD for base spec, 60k USD for Nur and 125k for Z-Tune. In other words, much more higher than its german rival BMW M3 E46 (unless it's M3 GT-R E46). But it's still much more cheaper than even entry-level exotics such as Ferrari F360 and Lamborghini Gallardo but then you're guaranteed to have a very strong resale value, so you're not losing anything. I mean just look the used price of base Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and Lamborghini Murcielago of the same year, it's basically priced the same around 150k - 160k USD despite Murcielago is much more rarer (11.000 units vs 5.000 units worldwide) it's because Skyline GT-R R34 is especially much more desireable to most people, even compare to exotics, let alone its cheaper german rival
@@taiminsen8069 well, thanks for your answer first of all. Its kinda funny, because im actually from germany😂. The fact that the e46 is cheaper is well known around here(ill come to that later) so first of all yeah the new prices with the trims are not too much but not cheap either but that makes no difference, because its not the 90s and you cant get an new production model... And appreciation was good the the whole gtr row so the all cost nearly double that... Yeah exotics are more expensive but theyre a whole different "genre" maybe except for the galliardo (prbbly spelled wrong) because its the cheapest and m.ost who buy it tune it so its kinda a tuner car too. The gtr is more like an evo or an sti. Not like an hurracan. So about the e46: i bought a motorcycle recently (and i love it) older model around 1993 and it was kind of a "barnfind", worked perfectly but looked like it was hit by a tank so i kind of restored it... But thats a whole different story. I drive it (even tho im 15 and it has 50hp, cant do that around here, need to be 18) to tuner meets wich are kinda not legal and i see minimum 30 e46s every time and only 1 or 2 are m3s they are rare as hell here (the germans love their cars) and base e46s cost like 5 grand around here, on the other hand m3s in good shape cost 30, 40+ grand. E36s and E46 are really popular but you dont see them as often as you might think
The Skyline GTR is my absolute favorite supercar. But at the same time, I would argue that the RB26 engine isn't the real reason why it's such a blistering machine: it's the ATTESA ETS system.

The GTR chassis is second to none. You can put a sr20 in a gtr and get the same effect. The chassis is the gem…The sound of the RB is awesome but it’s not better than a 1jz. RB (replace bearings) the 1j can make more power and take more abuse than an RB26. I don’t see how it’s even compared to the 2JZ. Bmw b58 can’t do what a 2j does sbe and that’s 2010+ technology. RB26 is awesome but the jewel is the AWD chassis.
Motive video already has. The 2jz is tronger than than it and more reliable. The rb26 and rb30 are stoneger than it but have their fair share of issues when not fixed. But skylines destroy xr6’s.
Cuz it's a piece of man-made history that took time and effort and then just kind of bolt it together they wanted to figure out the best and they made the best
Probably true 10-20 years ago if that owner paid the same amount on upgrades. But sorry to say it wont even remotely destroy modern supercars either way. But hey, the bucks are yours to spend and not anyone else's problem.

That's sweet - long live the King!
As much as I love the 2jz and the rb26 but the ford barra 6 is just to close to my heart
Barras are heavy and they’re in an extremely heavy platform that’s slow. Skylines absolutely dominate xr6’s. And the 2jz is a stronger counterpart to the Barra.
@@lennixsingh626 Barra's still make more power reliably then both those engines.
@@stuckinadream9538 they do it easier. Not more reliably.
Dude, it didn’t take a movie for me. I dealt with some serious drivers in the early 90’s.
NOT reman - manufacturing new. ZERO chance for a i6 in the future
This engine… this specific engine is my reply to electric when I say a engine is a soul of a vehicle
This car is tighter than bolts on a new bridge.....!

I actually just bought and rb for my car so happy to drop it in soon!!
Run a cold air intake system into a pod box of a RB26 and listen to the turbo spooling. You don't sit in a Skyline you fall into it and You don't drive a RB26 Nissan skyline you experience it . ✌️🤘🇯🇵🇦🇺
Cool presentation buddy, can u do a video on Evo
🚀🚀⤴️⤴️📩✍️......
2J is really big and heavy. Toyota did not even use it in race cars.
@@keckchan7156 are they only changing the turbos and that's it?
@@littlenismo oh wow. I didn't know that
@@wesleygriffiths8496 more specifically they're reselling Skyline GT-R R34 for you via Skyline Restoration Program, and despite "restoration program" you can actually request them to source the car for you (with additional cost of course)
then you must be guessing why people still waiting for 2025 rather than buy directly from Nissan / Nismo ?? Because the price starts from 400k USD (around 500k USD if you ask them to source the cars). AND that's just the starting price, if you say want to upgrade the engine (RB26DETT N1, RB26DETT R2 or even RB28DETT Z2), or specific paint (Silver Z-Tune, Midnight Purple etc) or any other accessories ( 320km/h Nismo speedometer, etc) then it will go around 1 million USD fast
I own an r34,
Mine being a GTT with the rb25NEO and even that thing blows me away, would be something else to feel that 26
It doesn’t feel that different from eachother
GT- R is a very great car for the price and the engine tuning
Yeah 90k is a greAt price😂
🚀🚀⤴️⤴️📩✍️.....
@@driftking_dg9619 given it was faster than the supercars of the day it was steal. And this reflects the appreciation of older models today.
But it's still much more cheaper than even entry-level exotics such as Ferrari F360 and Lamborghini Gallardo
but then you're guaranteed to have a very strong resale value, so you're not losing anything. I mean just look the used price of base Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and Lamborghini Murcielago of the same year, it's basically priced the same around 150k - 160k USD despite Murcielago is much more rarer (11.000 units vs 5.000 units worldwide)
it's because Skyline GT-R R34 is especially much more desireable to most people, even compare to exotics, let alone its cheaper german rival
Idk why I just love this vid.

Growing as an Asian American kids, it was the gtr poster, Supra poster, or the Honda nsx poster by far gtr is amazing
The Skyline GTR is my absolute favorite supercar. But at the same time, I would argue that the RB26 engine isn't the real reason why it's such a blistering machine: it's the ATTESA ETS system.
All car owners are divided into two groups. JDM superfans (me) and other people

You know what else is a God tier engine?
BMWs N54.
Twin turbo 3L straight 6 that makes massive power. Make a video on these please? I'll give you any info you need. I've seen the best and worst of them haha

Why don't people compare the A80 Supra to the Nissan Z32 300ZX? Apart from the VG30 V6 (which was developed around the same time as the RB26) it bears a lot of similarities to the Supra
The 2j is not a direct competitor to the RB, is almost 10 years newer. The 7M is RB competition.
Sadly, you can now get the new BMW M3 for $40,000 less than the GTR. It’s faster than the GTR, has a much nicer interior and so far, has less problems.
You would better hope so when it’s 30 years newer. And it still isn’t as reliable as 2j or RB30. They’re aluminium blocks.
The Aussie designed & built Ford Barra inline 6 turbo. A real engine. 😊

RB26 is awesome but the jewel is the AWD chassis.
is there turbo lag on stock gtr? never get drive standard one
