  • Houston - This Texan town is one of the largest cities in the United States. Before you visit, find out the best places to check out in Houston so you can make the most of your trip.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Houston: www.expedia.com/Houston.d1782...
Once an outpost in the Old West, #Houston is now a down-to-earth metropolis, boasting a tremendous shipping and energy industry, as well as plenty of culture.
Kick off your Houston #vacation at Discovery Green, a 12-acre park tucked beneath the city’s skyscrapers. You’ll find public art and plenty of space to picnic or go for walks. Houstoners take pride in their various parks, museums, and open spaces, like the Houston Arboretum, where you can go birdwatching, learn about green living, and hike the trails to explore local wildlife.
Your Houston #sightseeing should include a trip to the USS Texas., This battleship served in two World Wars and now stands guard as a museum on the Buffalo Bayou. Head to the Gulf for a walk on the beach while you watch the sunset, then get ready to gear up for the evening with some delicious TexMex shared with the locals.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Most people have no clue how many different races, nationalities, and cultures live in Houston. If I were a betting man I’d say it’s one of the most diverse cities in the country right up there with NYC. We are nicer to one another that’s for sure. When Harvey hit I was so proud of this city and seeing everyone helping one another. I can’t recall a single news cast that showed a negative story about our city. We aren’t perfect but we get along with one another very well.

I know this city like the back of my hand. Forget walking around the galleria and boring your guest to death.
hike through memorial park one day, hit the zoo and aquariuam the next, get shit faced at an astros game and ride your bike down the buffalo bayou trail (after you sober up) to catch a concert in the theater district, catch the light rail and get hammered at Mollys on main and shoot some pool before heading to the johnson space center and finding out dehydrated space ice cream doesnt mix with whiskey and getting emotional seeing the astronaut dedication films (because of the whiskey) then drag race down westheimer at 2 in the morning!

Back in 2004-2006, taking kids to school, attending classes at Glassell School of Art, visiting museums, coffeeing and dining at montrose area, listening the music at downtown Houston, going to Art show twice a year, enjoying the cold-cool-warm-hot weather, morning walk in the neighborhood, visiting antique shops and many more.. not to forget evacuating during Tornado Rita… Full of beautifull memories

LBJ brokered a deal with Humble (now ExxonMobil) to write-off an old oil field ( Clear Lake ) to the federal government to become the new site for NASA Mission Control.

Wow I wasn't expecting to see expedia feature my city! It's kinda boring and hot here, better to live here than visit in my opinion. But it's alright ya know I give it a 6 out of 10. Now LA and New York are the "It" cities of the U.S. tourists mainly go there. 😉

Houston: one of the best cities in the country and the best in Texas. And Kemah is pronounced [key-mah] not [kim-ah]. Also Galveston is pronounced [gal-ves-stun] not [gavel-stun]

    Hi Expedia,
I usually like and trust your travel videos, this one for Houston however is a negative exception. I went there a couple of weeks ago. The one great thing about the city is Johnson Space Center.. It's actually possible to get there by bus. All the other attractions however are off the limits without a car e.g. Galveston and Battleship Texas. Your video suggests it's all more or less in the city which is absolutely not the case and the horrible public transit doesn't go there at all.
Young travelers like me are subject to high underage fees when renting cars so it can't be expected for everyone to get a rental ..and without a car there really isn't that much to to in Houston expect for JSC.

Well, you should if not relied exlusivly on Expedia on deciding to make your trip. With that in mind I better do more research on my Cabos trip!

I did grow up from here but for those moving to Houston good luck. the only downside of living here is finding a decent job, it gets very difficult and can be rather frustrating (speaking from experience) just make sure you have good connections with others out here before taking moving into this city any consideration

patrickbama1234 I just feel better being closer to the ocean. I enjoy the laid back lifestyle, too (in most parts of California). I'm also a huge fan of the outdoorsy lifestyle California embraces. The people are open minded and wonderful, and the landscape is breathtaking and diverse. It's just an enjoyable place to be.

+Seven Foot Pelican true. I live in California and just visited Texas this summer. Two entirely different places and lifestyles. I LOVEE CALIFORNIA! Much more sights and diversity (culture wise) than Texas. Texas has a lot of green area where you have to travel long periods of time just to get to a major city (Houston, Dallas). Cali has better weather, diversity, things to do
