The capital of Texas is home to nearly 900,000 people. A lot of them are fiercely dedicated to the Keep Austin Weird campaign. You’ll find elements of this movement throughout the city in the shape of various art installations, eclectic eateries, and murals.
An #Austin #vacation means an adventure in the Live Music Capital of the World, home to festivals celebrating all kinds of tunes.
Many of the city’s monuments are located in Austin’s numerous parks, making it an excellent place to get in touch with nature.
#Visit South Congress Avenue. “SoCo” is a veritable paradise anyone who loves vintage threads and just the right amount of “weird” that makes Austin unique.
As you’ll notice in your Austin #sightseeing adventure, you’ll find a food truck on every street, and bistros, cafes, and restaurants just waiting for you to dive in and sample their culinary offerings.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

As a UT graduate from China years ago, my first impression of Austin when I came was heat, strong sunshine, and downpours, the grass was yellow in the summer and turned to green near the wintertime, everything was in large portion size. Then I quickly fell in love with the city and Texas spirit. I don't know why, but years later, every time when I came back to Austin from other places, I felt like I was home and comfortable. I love Austin.
Which part of China were you from? Obviously the southern heat is very different to Harbin.
@@kets4443 not that northern
I have friends, one from Seoul and another from Nanjing attending there. 😀
I am glad you enjoyed Austin, Texas!
I used to live in Austin I ended up moving to Alaska and I'm still here I watched this for the memory the nostalgia hit hard and I didn't release I was crying till it ended
alaska for work? pretty cold and long winters up there!
That’s rough 😢 hang in there.

austinite here. a few of my favorite places werent mentioned, so ill list them here. a note about austin, going anywhere downtown? dont drive. uber or take one of those cool scooters. parking is always a nightmare.
-waterloo records on north lamar (amy's ice cream right next door !) antone's is another austin classic record store, also a music venue!
-another music venue to go to is for sure is emo's
-barton springs is the best place to cool off in the summer, but it gets crowded.
-graffiti hill (now closed but you can still sneak in. nav to castle hill fitness. this spot is a famous grafiti tagging place. get a picture there before they tear it down!)
-house park bbq! trust me on this one
-the greenbelt is a huge beautiful trail network for hiking, with some small swimming spots. take your dog!
-the oasis is an uppity restaurant on lake travis known for its view. cant say much about the food but boy is it a nice date spot
-mount bonnell (perfect view at sunset!)
Austin was such a unique place! We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to share all our videos on the city!
The state of Texas is such a beautiful state, everything is wonderful there.I live in Illinois, Chicago.
Love Austin, Texas!
I was born in Houston. Although I love Houston, I'd much rather prefer Austin. If you're to visit Texas you must go to Austin, or Houston. Austin is a very beautiful city. Amazing and awesome.
I'm goin to both cities in March! Lookin so forward to it!
nickbball9 Austin too weird for me. They really live by that slogan
nickbball9 nah New York
Same here born and raised in da H, but ppl never wanna visit houston like that, and i dont understand why , its a lot of shit to do !!
Yes, I agree. I'm a full blooded Austinite, meaning I was born here, and I agree it's an absolutely gorgeous city. You'll never see another one like it. From the suburbs of Round Rock, to the rocky cliffs and oasis of Lake Travis, and then to the downtown area that claims possession of exponentially skyrocketing skyscrapers, it's a truly beautiful experience.
Love that owl building. Spent a couple months living there while on workplace training. Loved it.
I'm from Houston, and I visited Austin this past weekend. It is surely a sublime city. Very cool place!
very relaxed city. Another homely big Texas city alongside Houston
This city gives such good vibes ! I hope i can visit it one day .
Austin, the largest growing city in the US
not really houston is number 4
+Anthony Martinez what?
Anthony Martinez she said the fastest growing not the most populated? Idiot
Isn't it Boise, ID?
Joel who’s talking about Boise id?
Nice video, captures the music and experience of Austin very well!
Would love to visit Austin Texas, hope it´s sooner than later! Until then I hope to see some of you from Austin here in Iceland!
Your country is the heaven on earth!! I wish I could be there
Make this one day, cupple of days, and make these cupple days this summer:) we would love to see you here!
Ibrahim Fairoozy I wouldn't exactly call Iceland the "heaven on earth". (By the way, learn to capitalize where capitalization is due.) San Diego is a bit closer to that description, however, it lies near the pacific ocean and fault lines.
Haha, I don't plan on going to Iceland. ;-;
I’m from Texas and I was in Iceland this year. Mér líkar mikið Ísland.
Austin is AWESOME!! And I would say that the people are the best part :)
10 years since this video and so much has changed in this place. Transplants stole the soul of this once great city.
Beatifull city
God now how I love texas !!
All of downtown is beautiful. Wouldn't rather live anywhere else
Bobby Guajardo any shady parts of downtown to avoid? Thanks!

Wow!😯😯😯
Both my neighbors are from California😭
Definitely looks like I'll be checking the city out. Seems like a great place to live in!
It’s not anymore, I’ve lived here my whole life. It’s very expensive to live here. Plus we have a massive homeless camping problem.
@@dano3803 how much money required to live per month

I think all Texans are Texans first
Hector Garza hahaha, can never get texas out of a texan.
Lincoln Guy and here comes the yankee downer. how's it like being a pathetic worm who gets off by insulting others?

I lived in Austin and loved it! Now, after 5 yrs. in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I'm ready to go back to where things are weird. LOL
Don't forget to try the Tex-Mex and BBQ.
Wow buenos aires thats the city from storm troopers
what do you do for work in argentina?
Love my city
Underrated city. Overshadowed by Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio
+shortstackJMD96 do you think so even right now with all the hype of austin and everyone moving there? i ask as someone who's never been but want to live in a southwest city with some humidity.
+Brett Panzer Not much humidity in the southwest. . .though Austin probably has the most.
Austin is in a high pressure zone that makes it very humid while simultaneously making it not rain very frequently.
shortstackJMD96 Fourth largest city in the state
I somewhat agree!
Jim and Pam live hear now, wow
Who?
@@SuperDraupnir They are a husband and wife from a show called, The Office. They said they would move to Austin on the last episode. Btw, I recommend watching it.
my so lives here lol
probably would visit after rona ends
I'm from vietnam. I so like austin
Pretty cool footage! Weedy Bar approved
Adam Weedy Are you a transplant from Denver? Just kidding, but still, the name is curious.
I want to go 🤗❤️
Seems very progressive, very beautiful city. :D
It sure is. Austin focuses more on technology than other cities do. This is one reason why this city has a massive growth in population.
Have to go to Austin some day, seems to be a must see when in Texas!
I Live There!
Dallas is pretty cool too.
worldtravelimagesnet check Houston #HTWON out too. We got the NASA station and the beaches
I miss 2013 Austin.
Austin is where I’m planning on living at when I graduate from College!!!
please do more reasearch about this place, its becoming a homeless warehouse. i really don't think you wanna live there.

I live in Texas lol go downtown during night it's way better and go to Barton springs and all our lakes take a ton of poctures and come to round rock
how many days do you need to visit the city?
Sandra Matuszek I’ll say a week or 4 days because of all the rivers and parks and the capital. I live in Houston but I study Texas so yea. I sound like a Texas geek now... alright peace ✌️
I want to go eat and hike. Do things around the lakes.
I live in atx and I was surprised that most people dont have food trucks every corner
Im from nyc you have to dodge food trucks and food carts to do anything. All this damn food they should just give it away
I’m going to move to Austin from Texarkana
I was born on dallas and i love austin also i live on austin❤❤❤
how about starting businesses there?¿ it is cool enough?¿
E thy what kind of business?
Coming from outside of the US, Austin and San Antonio are the only two cities in Texas that offer truly international tourist attractions and are worth visiting. Houston and Dallas are just big cities with a lot of skyscrapers but they're not like majestic NYC or Chicago, they lack attractiveness and they're simply ugly.
Tell me what makes San Antonio and Austin international tourist attractions.
Lion Celica San Antonio has SeaWorld and the riverwalk. Austin has the Texas Capitol
But don't get me wrong, Texas is definetly not a good destination for international tourism. It's not Florida, NYC, California, Chicago, Hawaii or Las Vegas, which are the places worth visiting for foreign visitors
you sir are right im from houston and i visited dallas many times before they plain dead IN DOWNTOWN austin and san antonio city has attractiveness IN DOWNTOWN. the reason why houston and dallas has no life is because there business cities. the skyscrapers are nice but no attractions any where you have to go out the city on all directions and you find stuff to do in houston and dallas. what i dont like about austin and san antonio is dead outside the city (without their attractions )is like a desert. houston and dallas provide alot outside dowtown area for you every 100 miles on every direction.
+luuchoo G stfu u negative ass nigga wym Texas ain't worth visiting man u a fucking hater get tf on
+luuchoo G and NYC is dirty asf at least Dallas TX is organized Chicago on that High traffic shit it has wayy more traffic than Dallas Vegas lacks water very dry cali can compete with us and that's the only state that can Miami Florida can too but not the rest if Florida so stfu and get yo facts straight TEXAS👍👏💪🐂🙏💰💰💰

I wonder what will's feelings are about Austin.
Daniel Ramos I couldn't be bothered to truly "wonder" about it, however, unless someone here can read his mind, it does seem odd.
Also go suping
I love Austin, America 😍❤️♥️💙,but Deutschland is my ultimate preference for settlement if I can grab the opportunity anyhow,as it possesses a confined population with a heritage & weightage of its own culture which is sculpted in the rocks of ancient history.
There too many people trying to living here!
They talk funny
Joshua Mwaniki Do you mean by that a lot of people in Austin, Texas have a Texas accent? Is that what you were saying? Just curious okay
My gf lives there
I love Austin because there are lot of option of vegan food. Im vegan I live in San Antonio and we don't have anything here.
