I play this game a lot and I'll say that it can seem super overwhelming the first time you play it but in reality it isn't that difficult once you get the basics down. Also playing on public high loot servers is a must.
Hardcore survival you mean? puppet dmg x2.5 and x2 more puppets . MAYBE loot parameters can be at 0.5-0.75 above normal. that's where this game shines.. though its not something you get into during your first hour or two for sure xD
I just got back into scum for the first time since v0.6 , absolutely loving it, can't wait til .85 and .9 to drop.
@@Pre.C_King to each their own, I play on high loot servers because I hate how you just can't find anything with the default spawn rates. I don't like servers that have more puppets or more difficult puppets. I prefer to PvP, not PvE. I'm also excited about the next few big updates and FINALLY the 1.0 release
@@LarryBaller high loot servers are always laggy since the loot goblins like yourself. Indeed 2x puppets and a little bit higher loot then vanilla is the sweet spot for pvp.

this game kinda looks fun but I'd be in the same situation as Kev, no idea how to do anything haha
its fun but super complex, gets easier once you get over the learning curve.

As a scum veteran I just realised how hard this game is for a noob.This game is really different from any other game out there. My guy tried to apply pubg, fortnite, and minecraft knowledge to a survival sim 🤣🤣. Idk why but I really enjoyed it.
Was he not finding anything because of having no points in intelligence? I assume that ups your chances in finding look right?
@@salvatorenicolazzo891 "awareness" which is governed by Int does play some factor in finding loot.... but the game is set to sparsely distribute loot. Knowing where to look for what you are looking for plays the other major roll.

Never heard of this game until now.
Search it up. I love this game and I've been playing it for years but I cannot recomand it like other games. SCUM is a mixture of Tarkov, Arma, Dayz and Rust. It's just not for everyone.
Don't feel bad kev, after the timer runs out on the crates they explode! So you would've died if you stayed there and waited. The only way to get the stuff is lockpicking it
at the 20 second mark they unlock.. I can grab 2-3 lockers and get away safely... some claim to be able to get them all and survive.
If they can grab all of it and go in under 20 seconds they probably have several thousand hours in this game and know exactly how to load all the gear by instinct.

Yea we have reached an age of early access, what do you expect though most games are now expected to be HUGE, feature rich, monster mapped, and online.....so you know extremely costly, often understaffed, has an active recurring cost to operate, and best of all increasingly lengthy dev times amidst an incredibly impatient, selfish, and worst of all game journalist infested industry. So early access allows most of these games to actually stay afloat until full release instead of running out of budget and canceling midway through.😅
totally agree but people cry matter what if its full release its to early and then when someone release early acces then the game never will be done in their brain ... hahahaa
I think this would really catch on if you learned what to do it looks like the game has lots of potential and there looks to be a lot

I'm a new comer. At 17 hours now.
It's moderately complex but easy game. As of now it's the worste survival/running sim. I've played.
Maybe something will change and I'll think differently but for now this game is a pointless running/walking sim.

I wish I had watched this BEFORE I bought a copy for me and a friend then spend 10 hours in the game to find out the hard way.
Tho pretty complex it looked like it would be pretty fun if you take your time and possibly cheese the enemies. For instance those robots seemed to be unable to hit him effectively while inside that small shed so if he had a melee weapon he might’ve been able to aggro them to the doorway then hit them close door and repeat til he killed them.

its not a zombie... its a "puppet".. being "controlled" by TECH1 via a neural-link type device... it drowned... its best to not question it deeply
This seems very similar to dayz, I would you love to see you play that, you can be such a major ass to other players, for example, you can bind another player with rope or handcuffs, and then force feed them human flesh
You can even put a bag on his had to kidnap him to an ''unknown'' location. And you're right it's like Dayz but slower and more methodical.
