- I travelled to Karachi and on this day got to feel a bit more like a local - I tried Halwa Puri for the first time in a little cafe, visited the incredibly modern and beautiful Tooba mosque where I came across some local kids, had a quick glimpse of the stunning Mohatta Palace and ended up in Port Grand.

Bless you ! That spicy bit you had is actually Mango Vegetable mixed Pickle (Mixed Achar) Marinated for months before its served. Its not a dish lol its just a dip to give a kick to your chickpeas dish

And there is an art to making pink kashmiri tea. It's a special variety of green tea leaves that when brewed turn a lovely dark reddish colour and turn pink when milk is added to it..

Oh and l love a traditional Pakistani breakfast of halwa puri...😋 although l do try to avoid the chickpeas as they set my tummy off. Nothing is worse than being laid up in bed with an upset tum whilst on holiday

You’ve really managed the day very well specially being in a city as massive as Karachi. That’s how all foreigner traveling to Pakistan should do. Hire someone to show you around specially if you’re a solo female traveler. Nothing unsafe about the country but you’re not here for months , have less time so find people to keep it fun and safe. Sometimes you see solo travelers doing the things that even normal every day Pakistanis won’t do, it’s an accident waiting to happen.
I agree.. I always love to be guided by local people wherever I go in the world because no-one knows a place better than locals and it’s always a great way to learn first hand about the local culture.
