Superb radio. Light, can be flown with foamies with antenna stowed, so just super easy and perfect balance. Lighter than the 14SG, more like the older 8fg, but advanced. Nice light, featured radio.
Nice review. One question - how does the speaker sound when reading voice? Do you have a clip showing that? I've just got a 16IZ and trying to work out if my speaker is working correctly (it's sounding distorted even on quite low levels when reading voice). Thanks !
I fly it stowed at all times. I fly foam, so I guess not huge distances. But stowed is perfectly aligned really, and not a single glitch whatsoever. The antenna is the best thing about the radio for me as keeps it streamlined with no chance to tear off etc
Back when Futaba went to 1024 resolution they made a big deal about it, now i can’t find the resolution of this model in the specs, do you know what it is?
Thanks for the review. How does one utilize all 16 channels, for example with the R7014SB, which is the receiver I use in many of my planes. I presume that any telemetry sensors other than receiver voltage will use a channel, so if I want to monitor two cylinder temps and engine rpm, they will use three channels, leaving me with 11? Is that correct? Thank you.
Telemetry does NOT use up any channels. On the Fasstest protocol and the telemetry goes into the sbus not into a channel. I hope I explained it right. And yes all 16 channels are available to use.
Got a new 16 iz and the left red right comes on only. The blue light on the right stays off. How do I turn the blue one on please? My receivers aren't binding either. Thanks for the help
gotta follow the futaba bind sequence, which is actually a menu on the radio. Bit fiddly, but it works. With FRSKY, that's different, as it's jsut the usual technique I think
Hello. I was just curious, but can this radio perform custom audio reports (audio message spoken when a function or mode is enabled by flipping a specific switch) like the spektrum ix12 can? Thank you.
Nice review ! Thanks. I've got mine on the way.....i'm currently on a 16SZ, so, looking forward to the improvements on the IZ.

Very nice, I have been wanting to upgrade my radio and was looking at the 16SZ but this looks nicer and is 220 dollars cheaper. Thanks for the video!
This radio is just as good as the 16sz. In fact I prefer the IZ over the Z
That antenna configuration is spooky it looks very prone to being broken off.. .

@@rccosplay3249 Thanks, so that requires using a different receiver and buying all new servos for my plane, plus the setup and configuration time?

It has timer and telemetry alerts
Thank you.
Can this utilize something like Crossfire or Ghost?
Did you get the US version? What language does it support?
US Version. I will need to check to see what other languages it supports.
Nice nice transmitter but wondering can bind this with spectrum receivers???
No it will not bind with Spektrum RX. Completely different protocol.
Okay excellent thank you appreciate it...!!!
This work ok with the R7008SB?
Yes it does
These are currently on sale 550 at futaba
