    Could we stop talking about what he is wearing and spend the time getting more comprehensive advice from him???? The interview was extremely frustrating.

      building inspectors are privatised and hired by the builder. They get paid to pass buildings and won't get repeat business if they point out faults.

    • @fc7424
      @fc7424 16 дней назад +3

      There basically is no law of enforcement. The builder's are the law on to themselves.

    Most importantly, have every phase of construction inspected by your own private inspector before proceeding to the next phase. Have a lawyer write up a contract with contingency clauses in it that protect you from being taken to the cleaners. The lack of seriousness by these people doing the interview is incredibly obnoxious and disrespectful. Mr Zaher Khalil is no joke and has documented hundreds of millions of dollars of criminal scammer projects with major structural defects putting people's physical and financial lives in jeopardy.

    we once had inspectors who worked for the council, if they said no, not to standard, the builder had to correct, & the inspections were done several times during the build, but along came bribes, doggy builders, who contributed to a certain political party who over night in NSW took power away from council to give the certification to so called independent inspectors, who must only inspect the finished product from the street for a house, with multi story apartments they only do spot checks on one or two apartments per floor as they do not have time to inspect every apartment, that was stated by an inspector on TV several years ago, there is only one way to prevent dodgy tradies who are not certified & are employed by the building companies, is to not just fine for their poor work but jail time as well, of course we will hear all the nonsense that we cannot build fast enough to service the demand if this is done, well I think most who pay a million plus would prefer to wait, then get something quick, only to find 12 months later the building is about to collapse unless the owners have to find an additional million to correct the faults.

    This should be a profession for quality of work check and blacklist the dodgy builders and give builders fine for dodgy work and leave . This profession create more jobs and work quality will be improved according to the standards. The local government should make legislation about these issues. Why only owner pay for the builder dodgy work and repairs.

    Its pathetic that a $7.50 toaster has 1 year warranty, but people buy into something like Mascot Towers and are not protected even though they have paid thousands in stamp duty.
