As a west to be east skier, just want to say that there are a lot of great skiers from the east though most west coast say they are better. I think that east coast trail ratings are very easy, but this is backcountry and it is very hard to
I used to patrol at th Bush , and I was SO glad for each day that went by where people did NOT go n get lost in th outback. To each his own. I love to make continuous turns as much as the next guy, but I also like the challenge of getting down a narrow path, navigating hazards, trees and other obstacles. For me it’s like technical mountain climbing in reverse.

Picking your way down icy chutes might make for some skiing skill but certain conditions making skiing more difficult doesn't make it good
While your point is valid, it doesn’t apply to this video. This guy is not at all claiming that what he is doing is harder than all the skiing out west. He’s just showing off something difficult he did, which you can do without claiming to be the best skier or anything

@@mtadams2009 One year back in the 90's when I skied at Squaw Valley for the winter, they had almost nothing until Mid January. So I get that sometimes they do have lean conditions out west. Not to be discouraging, but I think you're in over your head on a lot of these videos. You're not really skiing anything so much as picking your way down it, start-stop, start-stop, start-stop. Maybe you could run these a few times, get familiar with the line, work out your path, then record a nice smooth run? This literally looks terrible.
As a younger skier, I haven't had the time to lap many of these runs. But I hear what you're saying, and this coming season I already feel a lot more confident in my ability. I have done this run several times (this video was my first time ever doing it) and now I breeze through the entire thing and it is definitely better content. This is a perfect illustration of what I mean when I tell skiers out west that tree skiing in the east is tight.
