Very long taxi. Though I enjoyed watching. It's amazing how many aircraft Air France and the other airlines have in the fleet. That gets you thinking about that all those B777's and B747's all came from Everett, Washington's Paine field. All the Airbus' came from Toulouse and Hamburg. The scale is just amazing. Nicely filmed. The break through of the overcast is always my favorite. Going to go watch the landing now..
Absolutely great vid as usual! Love those extended sightseeing excursions you get at de Gaulle....the plane uses half its fuel just to taxi out to the runway!! Couple of questions for you.....Was that the left engine starting up at around 8:00? That would certainly make sense as a fuel saving strategy especially at de Gaulle. Also, I noticed that the pilot seemed to initiate a small amount of left bank with the ailerons and spoiler at the start of the takeoff roll and kept it in place until just after leaving the ground......I don't think I've ever seen that before. Did that seem kinda unusual or strange to you?......have you ever seen that before? Thanks.
Dantorp11 Aviation I thought the ailerons and spoilers were that way on both wings in order to keep the plane more stable and less susceptible to windshear and wind guts. Did you check the other wing to see if they were in place? Well, I know this might be quite difficult because you are seated and with your seat belt fastened. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Richard de Andrade It is actually just on one side. When there is strong crosswind. it is common for us to use up aileron against the direction of the wing, and to decrease pressure on the aileron as the aircraft gains speed. Of course the rudder pedals help keeping the aircraft centered and aligned with the runway the whole time as well.
I'll be riding on one of these for the first time in a month. Anything worth noticing? I'm always nervous and excited when I jump into a new plane. I'm also riding the Dreamliner in October for the first time.
Well, it´s maybe too late now because your flight probably already took place, but the aircraft really is a nice one. Its small but the legroom is good, definitely better than on the CRJs! You have four seats in a row, flys quite smooth, I like the engine sound :)
The annotation concerning the sound is absolutely RIDICULOUS !!!!
There's never anything good about leaving Paris but a good view over the wing makes it a little easier to swallow.
I've been to Paris like 5 times and it's never enough. Hands down the most beautiful city on the planet.
I know
