You could say that, but it is a pretty neat combination of a 3 chime and a 5 chime whistle mixed together. It’s almost like if that train was equipped with an 8 chime whistle.
8 chime whistles should actually be a thing (not as in a bunch of normal chime whistles joined together, but as in an actual shop-built whistle designed like the GN 7 chime, which is also real, but with an extra bell). Imagine one of the current operational locomotives (specifically one of the Berkshires, any Strasburg locomotives of your choice or even R&N 425) wearing one of those, how cool would that be!? But speaking of the combination, I did a full reconstruction of that whistle. Can be heard here: ruclips.net/video/Nk_7_c9ZWZE/видео.html @@T128Productions
Great job Fast Freight Productions👍also the whistle from the Sierra Railway #34 sounds like the clinchfield 311 the ghost train in trainz, Plus the pennsylvania 3 Chime appears in the movie Tom & Jerry (2021), when Tom gets very angry you can hear the whistle from 3 chime and well i like the train origin whistle😊
A lot of people are saying it came from Sierra #3’s whistle, but I’d say it came from a Lima 5 chime whistle (similar to #3, but a different model.) or came from a different railroad (Great Northern, D&RGW, Northern Pacific, etc.)
It might also be either a Lunkenheimer or a Crosby 3 chime. Here’s an example of what I’m trying to say ruclips.net/video/osMxHVaZYms/видео.html (obviously I agree with your opinion.)
I’m not surprised, but I’ve known it for a really long time, except I’m not really interested in stuff about the Ghost Train 311. Plus, the sound was recorded in 1972, long before Trainz Simulator even existed!
I have a request. I think it would be really interesting if you took every Time the polar express blows his whistle in the movie, and replace it with ATSF 3751’s whistle. Yes, I got the idea from your ATSF 3751 in a nutshell video.

That video was actually taken in Canada, not in North Dakota where the 110 resides. Too bad the original video I used in this part of the video is no longer available.
Yeah, these whistles sound nothing alike, even though they’re both 5 chimes. A&WP #290’s 5 chime is blown by steam (no duh), and CP #2860’s Air Whistle is (of course) powered by air.
You said at 1:06. I checked, it’s actually at 1:04. Plus, the sound was the 5 chime, but for some strange reason, the film showed a Nathan 6 chime whistle.
