I think you've skipped two very important details in your comparison: - The Xperia has an Headphone Jack (and still retain the IP68 certification), while the S20 Ultra doesn't. - The Xperia does NOT have any Notch/Hole on the screen, while the S20 Ultra has it.
i thought i'd always stick with samsung but i just ordered an xperia 1 now that the price dropped a bit. really don't like the look of the s10 and the xperia just excites me more. and i hear sony phones are built to last, which is good for someone like me who doesn't waste money upgrading phones every year or 2.

Just because Samsung S20 have 108 MP camera it can't be the best. Pixel size and sensor size and post processing makes huge difference in image quality. So I disagree with camera comparison which is based on just basic specifications.
Really good info. I need a new phone badly and these two are my main considerations. I am camera oriented - I assume the video numbers are merely the low end number difference between 4K of Sony versus 8K of Samsung - would have been better for me if you put both numbers in so I could easily tell??? Man, I really want to switch back to Sony. I have the PS4, will get the PS5, I've got the WF-XM3s, and will be getting the WH-XM4s if they come out this year.. & I've got the Walkman A105... and the SRS XB32. Most of my eco-system is Sony, but my phone is still the Samsung S9 because: - It still does everything I need it to - It's small enough to get in and out of my jeans without issue multiple times a day I figured the camera would be lesser on the Sony, and that's not a big deal for me because I barely take pictures anyway... What I wanted is a slimmer, smaller phone that has a superb screen for consuming media, works well with my eco-system and has a great battery life, with killer performance. The battery life only being at 4000mah annoys me though, I cannot stand when companies skimp on battery life relative to competition.

Just a thought...How can you compare cameras based only on mp? Those who are a bit interested in photography know that mp only do not make a good camera. Sensor and optics count. Besides, I can't find any info on raw photos in S20

I have s20 and Xperia 1 same time. Xperia 1 is much much better. Samsung may have a bit better kamera but there's levels in display, colors, speakers, speed and mobile internet connection outside for Sony.

The 8k video probably isnt too good either. Sensor isn't big enough in my opinion for details. I'd rather have a well done 4k anyways.
