It’s the row that’s engulfed a primary school in Birmingham. For the past seven weeks, Anderton Park Primary has seen demonstrations outside its gates from parents angry at the teachers for including same-sex relationships on the syllabus. The protesters claim that they should be able to use their own religion to teach their children. We’re joined by Shakeel Afsar who is spearheading the campaign, alongside Melissa Thompson, who says the protest makes ‘her blood boil’.

There’s a time and a place for everything and I don’t think that educating a young child on LGBT lifestyle belongs in the classroom
Children are exposed to heterosexuality from day one all around them. Why does it hurt to show that LGBT relationships exist.
@@dfpguitar Heterosexual relationships are the norm. And that’s not a homophobic statement because most of the world is heterosexual or straight this is just a fact. children have plenty of time to learn about those types of things. Let children be children. I’m not sure why the LGBT community is trying to sexualize children.

Not the religion. The school board should STOP this. Not in schools.
Should scrap lgb… lessons and straight in primary. Luckily nations like Poland and Hungary havent decayed like us. Holly willoughlby and Philip Schofield deserve to be sent to be other countries and leaders would give them severe consequences

Some group will be stuck with old religious beliefs. Govt is not here to satisfy everyone. Govt is there to look for modernity and supporting science and technology. Those who feel bad because of their own belief system which is old and archaic. They should learn the new ways of life and shed any old fixated ideas.

Some beliefs are not tolerant at all for other religions. Govt should read religions before allowing these religions in this country to flourish undettered.
Keep religion at home in this modern scientific role.
there's a good reason why the West is rich free democratic and powerful - renaissance, reformation, enlightenment, reason, industry, science, democracy - unlike some places which just got stuck in the Middle Ages but from where people want to escape to the West from
Nothing scientific about telling children some people have two mothers or two fathers. It's bringing personal matters into the public under the guise of gaining children's acceptance, who are naturally accepting, instead of teaching morality in a more inclusive way.
