I'm always curious about how much any given joke changes in translation in order to keep the context/vibe cohesive. I could see one being so vastly different that it's not even close to the original joke, but then it becomes an issue of "this translation isn't accurate" to an egregious extent. I think you walked that fine line perfectly.

It depends on a few things, I don't really keep track but if I had to guess, for a solo stream it'd be something like: 1.5-2x times the stream length (give or take) for clipping, then about 1x stream length for time-stamping/sync (though it varies according to how many lines there are), then double that for translating (can be a lot more, or a lot less), then typesetting takes about the same as time-stamping, then some extra time for double (or triple) checking for typos and errors (visual or grammatical) and some cleanup, and finally editing is always different but no less than about 2x the final clip length or more. That'd be about 8hs for a ~1hour-long solo stream, which sounds about right, I think? Rewatching eats up a lot of time, and while I got really used to doing things the way I do, I also realize it's definitely not the most efficient, so there's that. For collabs it's usually way more than that because I do a lot of manual work on the subs so that they end up looking how I want them to, and the more people the harder it gets to catch some of the crosstalk as well, so translation ends up taking a bit longer. In my case the actual answer would be 3-5 days, since I only have about ~2hs a day to put into making these 😅😅
