The streams were so beautiful. What was that orange think you had in the tent?

What time code did you see it? I think it may be the EXPED Schnozzle, which is a pumpsack I use to blow up my sleep pads. Helps to not get light headed (especially at elevation) and keep moisture from your breathe out of the pad to reduce potential for mold. I love the Schnozzle because it's also a dry bag so I can store clothes in there. You can also use it to do laundry since it's air tight.

How do you like the DJI? I was noticing how smooth the trail shots were. I used the Fimi Palm last year on the CT and loved it overall, but the voice lags too much to correct even with Handbrake. Might have to scoop a DJI if you think it'd be worth the money. Also, peanut stew sounds amazinggg.

(THIS IS ALMOST MY FULL REVIEW!) It's been good so far once you turn off all the fancy features, like the face tracking. It doesn't like your face in sunglasses or when you turn to look at trails so I had a couple of clips that were of the trees. I have 2 other portable gimbles that are better but much heavier so the gimbal aspect is definitely good enough for the size and weight. The battery life on 4K is bad though so I experimented in HD and the 2K (?). 2K lasted about 8 hrs. A little cumbersome to switch between 30fps and 60fps so I'm looking to see if there is a better short cut. I got the creator pack which has the wireless mic and doggle to actually connect to your iPhone and use that as your screen (better at camp), but I found once I got used to the small screen it was fine. I'm going to use it on the CT though to transfer footage to my phone and then the cloud. The wireless mic is a little heavy on my clothes but if you already have just another lavalier mic with a wire there's actually an input on the wireless piece you can connect so I'll probably do that next time. I clipped it to my pack this last hike, but then when I would turn my head the audio goes in/out. HOWEVER, the gimble itself is omnidirectional, so unless it's super windy I found it picked up audio really well and also the sounds of nature really well.

Also, I do plan on doing a full review in about 3 wks and posting a vid on it! I'm just experimenting with the features for hikers/backpackers to give my best thoughts on it.

@@GIRLplusDOGAdventures This is SUPER helpful. I really appreciate how thoroughly and thoughtfully you go through these things. I thought the FIMI was pretty okay but the interface with the app was wonky at times, and the gimbal wasn't always great at staying level. I might have to nab one of those DJI Osmos (like I should've in the first place).

Where do you get the chicken pouches?
I have been looking for them for a while.
Watching your Colorado Trail series, great videos.

Yes I did. Just did my first segment hike this past weekend and was 'flying' by with only a 25 lb pack. I did have 8 creek crossings, but seemed like a breeze compared to what I had been hiking in!

I am glad I don't have to worry about mountain Lions, bears etc. Our biggest "problem" and danger are wild boar 😅 Looks like a great trip!

Wild Boar are dangerous too! I don't think they get scared away much by loud noises.

@@GIRLplusDOGAdventures mostly not. I started singing once to scare them away. Did not work 😅
