- Hey everyone!
In this video, we talk about some trickier shots. I touch on hyzer flips, turnovers and flex shots.
These are all very relative in terms of the end goal. Hyzer flips and turnovers and be manipulated to finish right (as a righty backhand). They can also be manipulated to make the disc fly and finish dead straight for those tricky wooded holes.
As always, these shots take a lot of practice to master- but hopefully these few tips will help you gain a better understanding of how to throw them.

Love this video, super informative and extremely helpful!
So glad! Thank you for watching!
Good stuff Christine 👏 👍 👌
I throw your 2021 sidewinders and these things are money! There are two tunnel shot holes in the woods at my home course and I get more ace runs than I ever have. Forehand or backhand, I find the only challenge at first is to figure out how much angle is needed to get it to flat then it just zooms dead straight. Thanks for the tips on the turnovers,Christine! I’ll have to try this out this evening.
Ahh that’s so cool! I’m glad you’re loving them. Thank you so much for watching!
You describe all the shots so well👊
Thank you so much for watching!
short and sweet, thanks. do one on rollers.
I have a question related to a BH turnover shot versus a forehand of an OS disc with maybe a hyzer angle. Obviously, the lay out of the hole is a big factor. But assuming you have a fairly open window down to the hole with a basket situated on the side away from your normal BH, are you going turnover or FH? I'm a 64+ yo LHBH player who would throw a Latitude 64 Diamond or a Vibram Unlace as a turnover. And something like a Riot or maybe a Saint Pro for an LHFH shot.
Love this question. For me personally, it depends on the tightness of the gap and if I think that a skip from the forehand is necessary to push me more towards the pin. I'm also backhand dominant, so its the comfortability of execution and how confident you are in which shot. I would say go with whichever shot you will feel more comfortable executing.
My turnover shots always seem to fade back left at the end of the flight(RHBH). Occasionally I can get the slow full turning flight. Is there
common problem to cause this? Any tips or drills you recommend? Thanks! Enjoy the videos!
Hi! Thank you for watching! So this is because of one of two things. 1- you might be throwing to stable of a disc (try something less stable, this is why I love sidewinders!) 2- your arm speed is not matching the discs speed therefore you should try a slower disc to start with. Let me know if you have more questions! 😃
What course is that ?
Caesar Ford in Xenia, Ohio!
I don’t have a forehand so it’s always turnovers for me.
