    That saw cut through those limbs like they were butter, you keep your equipment in very good working order from the way that saw cut. looks like you have it all in one sock (as we say in the USA) very outstanding video. thanks

      Because we were only removing a few of the low branches before the crane came. It was just quicker that way. I didnt even go up and put a high anchor point in for my rope in point.

      NZarborist_Bryce gotcha, I’m new to tree work and I figure it’s ok to ask questions and find out the reason why climbers do what they do, during certain situations, I appreciate your reply and understand , stay safe and be blessed.

    Such a beautiful tree. The owners didn't want acorns and leaves on their roof... can an arborist refuse to cut down perfectly healthy trees?

    • @NZarboristBryce
      @NZarboristBryce  4 года назад +7

      We can, and most of us try to convince the owners into reducing the canopy of these beautys. Most arborists love trees. But at the end of the day, if the owners want it removed the next arborist will do it if I don't.

      @@NZarboristBryce thanks for your reply. I appreciate your job, and your commitment to helping trees thrive. I am looking at getting into arboriculture. But am afraid the work will mainly focus on cutting trees down. Any input is greatly appreciated, Bruce.

    So how about this for an idea Dont buy the house and leave the oak tree standing if you dont like the branches and acorns stay in the town where you belong.

    • @NZarboristBryce
      @NZarboristBryce  7 лет назад +1

      +nutjobdad I agree, thankfully there are many more of the old oaks on the farm behind their property. The house was built under the tree only 40 years ago. The old farming town is where hobbiton in Lord of the rings was filmed.

    You shouldn't one hand. I know you said in the comments your always in position to avoid kickback, but that's not what I see. You were in a position dozens of times where your ability to control kickback was severely minimized by you one handing, while out of position. It's an OSHA standard, I'm sure you have them wherever you are.

    • @ryanhollingum73
      @ryanhollingum73 6 лет назад

      its a one hand special. No real control of the saw or limbs... To the climber make the change climb safe so you can climb long. Learn as you go and be open to constructive criticism. good job for working at heights ill give you that.

    You guy's are professional tree men as most us try to save money and try this ourself''s like me which I already has 1 core of wood laying on the ground but my other branches need a professional tree guy as I watched the tree guy up in the tree a great job at hand I was told 5 years ago a tree guy took a estimate for $1500. And since there are only 1/2 of the tree left I had another guy tree crew come and told me $1500. To take it down to me that bullsht that's why I started doing it myself the thing is I don't climb and using the rope system I have no cute fck it I will rent a lift and take my own tree down whi h I am careful what I doing why I have made my statement because my house and garage is still standing

    • @NZarboristBryce
      @NZarboristBryce  6 лет назад

      Bruno Erni Thanks for your concern but IMO gloves are for girls and don't add any safety, if anything they are a nuisance. When using the saw with one hand I am always in a position that is safe if it was to kick back. And my lanyard is a yale rope, I don't use steel fliplines unless I have too, their extra weight and not as versatile as a long 5m rope lanyard. When cutting, my main line is always there incase of cutting through the lanyard which shouldn't ever happen if your aware of its position. Cheers
