This was the best beginner video I've ever seen. The video is designed brilliantly and shows a wonderful model and the creation. Great praise and thank you for your effort!

My new knife favourite is scalpels, a knife holder costs just a few bucks, you get an enormous variation of blades, they are EXTREMELY sharp, and OK, you have to buy each type in 100er pack that cost 10 Euros or so, but that means 1 blade costs 10 cents and the 100 will last for years and years.
And when you need something pointy, WAAAAAY pointier than a needle, then buy syringe needles. A 0.3 mm tube needy is sharpened in a multi-facet style, a normal pin looks like a tree trunk in comparison. Granted, they are rather soft (meant to bend, not break when poking around in you), again, you have to buy 100 (maybe get them loose in the pharmacy), but the cost for a single one is again in the cent range.
When professional tools are made for one-time use, it is cheap for us modelers. Often cheaper than special modeler tools.
In a jeweler/watchmaker store you can get soldering mats or stones that stand up to any temperature, no comparison to amateur stuff (and not more expensive). It was always a shop of marvels for me, so many useful ideas, stuff that you never thought you could get.
A last recommendation: Have a look at the tools music instrument builders use when you want to go into woodworking. They have their own range of fabulous stuff.
