You can't hate gene ! Is he arrogant yes ! Is he opinionated yes ! I think he is hilarious and fun and always entertaining . Here is s average guy of average looks and mediocre musical talent that created a great product, fun band and made it on his own terms! Love him !
There's more wisdom in this man's little finger than probably 98% of the American population. Listen to him talk about being curious, about reading all the time, even about things that don't interest him, just to KNOW and understand things. I'm sorry he didn't do more movies. He was a consummate villain in both of his films. I've read his books, and it's like a conversation with him. He writes the way he speaks. I have more admiration for him as a musician than anyone else, because he entered into the business with his eyes wide open. This was a wonderful collection of interviews. Thank you for posting it.
Scrapbook Fashionista Designs by Rina Drunk wackos?! Have you seen early Kiss performances like Midnight Special? Now THAT was the Kiss that I knew because all of the originals were key counterparts to what everyone loved, right up until after Kiss Alive II, which made them legendary. After Peter and Ace left, Kiss pretty much died.. and it's because of Gene's ego mostly. As if he really cared about their alcoholism. Give me a fucking break. It's well established he's more concerned with making money. Gene ruined Kiss as far as I'm concerned. He totally tarnished their legacy.
Well thank God Trump won because you will still be allowed your opinion! I maintain mine and thats from a HARDCORE fan with a tattoo and a pround KISS ARMY sticker on my truck!
@ iddddaduncan Only Broke people say stupid shit like that ! Money= Freedom to do whatever the hell you want ! Fly around the world and visit 50 different cities for a day, broke can't do that. Anyone who thinks money is not important, and "the best things in life are free" is Broke and ignorant. And yes it Can buy you Love too, All the single Millionaire's raise your hand *crickets* That's what I thought ! It doesn't pay more to bury you Rich or bury you poor, but it dam sure does while your Alive !
Awesome..... Gene Simmons! I loved it when he said "GET OVER IT" - Boy I really needed to hear that! Whatever sad story you have, someone has one worst than you, and guess what the answer is the same "GET OVER IT" and go make your dreams come TRUE! -Great video! My favorite #4 "Your dreams can come true"
+Urban Thick I think those words are the harshest yet most true words. People can't stand when other say it, yet its so true. Whether our negative feelings are justified or not, if they aren't serving us in a positive way, we must get over them. Otherwise, we are only devaluing the alternative!
Number 5 Learn to Listen, number 8 Invest in yourself and number 10 Be all that you can be. Gene Simmons gives some great advice to live by especially if you are into developing your own business and your own brand.
Powerful Content. Gene Simmons is the Real Deal in the Business industry. Evan Carmichael I appreciate you and Everything that you do. Evan keep going after your Dreams. You will be the Next Mega Millionaire.
Thanks for the video! I love all 10!!! I grew up from a kid listening to Kiss! They are my f av. Band. I grew up in a crap household w/ a lot to deal with and they were my escape! As I got older their message about being a better you struck a deep cord within me. I leaned to watcj and listen! I was raised to be PROUD of our country! And proud of myself. Even when others aren't. Stick to your guns.
I think Gene is a great guy. He is a family man. Also, lives like an American should. A good role model, I should say. He makes perfect since in what he says. He seems to have an opinion on everything. lol. He seems to have a lot of knowledge, on business concepts. Just listen to him. Thanks for being a positive role model Gene. He doesn't seem to have a split personality. That's what I like bout him. He has influenced me in music and other things I have going on. Thanks.
Not to mention he's a legendary fucking rockstar who changed the game forever while getting tons of pussy and never did drugs or alcohol. I find that to be very inspiring and very American in such a genuinely wonderful way.
I'm not a fan of Gene and think he is way to arrogant BUT he is Right about how to strive for your dreams and he is a very intelligent man in his own right!! So I guess he can be as arrogant as he wants to be.. Plus he LOVES his Mom and always says so😏😏😏 I respect that!!
He is a lot like President Trump in that way his delivery can be off putting to many types out there today and as they both get older I am starting to notice they are a bit more humble and recognizing God in some ways but boy you cannot argue that both men raised exceptional and polite well spoken children and are the hardest working businessmen on the planet
Gene, I wanna be a female rock star, but I feel like giving up, what should I do? I really admire Angus Young (and of course everyone in AC/DC) Tony (and everyone in Black Sabbath) and you and Paul (and everyone in Kiss) Should I give up? I want to be a guitarist. I have an Epiphone SG 2016 model and I can’t play it! Should I give up or should I go on? I would really love to meet you and Angus Young and Tony Iommi. That would be so awesome. To meet all of my idols. And I noticed at 2:52 you mentioned AC/DC! I swear there is not a black sabbath song or an AC/DC song that I have not ever heard. And when I’m out in public I recognize them playing instantly. It is a dream of mine to become as good as you and Angus and Tony. I’m only 20 and yes I’m a woman like I said
Lady Angus Young Fan 1998 Hope you don't mind my intrusion here but, I read your comment and felt a kinship of sorts for a fellow musician. As a musician myself (I'm a bass player. Been playing since the early 90's. I'm 45 now), the only way to find out if you can do it is to try. Assuming you have the means to learn and the drive. Go for it. Sometimes, not everything is as easy to do as simply saying "Get over it!!!" and doing it but, there are some things that are that easy for some people. You might be one of those people. You never know. You might just need a solid push in the right direction to get the ball rolling. If you think this (playing guitar) is one of those things, then do it. Best advice I would offer someone starting out with music would be to commit yourself to it and try to seek out help and instruction as much as possible. Nowadays, that is a lot easier to do what with many cool tools like the internet, RUclips and other music instruction sites. Make that guitar your friend. Pick it up and strum it whenever you can - while watching TV, while laying down in bed, while just lounging about etc. etc. My cousin began playing around your age, with no instruction or teaching and now, the guy is pretty amazing. He might not be famous but, he is happy knowing that he can play quite well and does so for the love, not of money, fame or anything like that but for the simple love of music and creating music. Just be realistic and honest with yourself so that, regardless of how things turn out, you can still hold your head high and be content within yourself. You might wind up at a destination you never dreamed of or you might wind up in a place that you aren't too thrilled with. That's the thing with life, you just never know how things will turn out, even if you put in the work. As long as you know within yourself that you can deal with any outcome - good, neutral or bad (as life sometimes goes no matter how much you try to steer clear of that path) - at the end of the day, you'll be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say you tried. That's more than most people will ever get the chance to do in life. Hope this helps a bit. Hope you have a good journey on your way to fulfilling your wants and needs...
This is what Paul Stanley said in an interview, this should answer your question. If you have a choice between your dream and the other choice, pick the other choice. You should have no other choice but your dream. His dream was to be a rock star. All other activities you do whether it is coin collecting, work, selling ties, etc. These should be done as fuel for your vehicle to get to your dreams.
Awesome video once more! I didn't know much about him, I'm glad I watched this video. I can relate totally for the last part. Like he said, we all have a cross to bear but I realized very recently that it was up to me to have it stop defining me and my goals in life :) I don't know if you did already but a Stan Lee Top 10 would be amazing.
"Get over it." Yes I know so many people that do nothing because of one bad event in their life. There's this lady I know...when she was a teenager, a boy pulled her bikini down at a pool party. She ran home embarrassed. Stopped going to school. Wouldn't come out of her room. The police broke into her room one day, because she wasn't answering anybody, she hadn't came out of her room for five days (not even to pick up packed food her mum left at the door), and there was a horrible smell. She was alive, but dehydrated. Now 20yrs later she's bedridden in a nursing home (where her mum works). She cries all day, re-tells the story about the pool party several times a day. Everyone is angry at her, because she won't get over it. When she was a teenager in school, she was so smart she skipped 3yr levels. She was tutoring maths, science, German, and Spanish to older students. Everyone expected that she would cure AIDS (I don't know why AIDS). If she was to get over it, she will have so much life, and potential.
Thank you for sharing the story with us. Yes, she would. I'm sorry to hear for what happened to her. I hope she will succeed and get over it and start living the life! #BelieveNation #BTA760 Luka
First off Kiss is one of my all time favorite bands. Gene is definitely a very smart and ambitious man. There are definitely things you can learn from him. However, things are much different now in the music business. I suspect that if Kiss were to have started now that they too would be just a flash in the pan. He would not be a multi millionaire and would probably be working a regular job.
This dude helped to change rock n roll forever. Gene never did drugs or alcohol. He remained goal minded, worked hard, got tons of pussy, sold millions of albums, and now he has a beautiful family and he's still going strong. Not to mention he's a jew. No wonder he's got so many haters.
Thank you very much for your suggestion but it would be great if you could post your request under this video: ruclips.net/video/0arZb0xLIDM/видео.html If more people would vote or like your request and there are available videos/clips for it, we might do a Top 10 rules video for it. Much love. :) #BelieveNation #BTA781 Luka
As soon as I saw the title I thought of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition. www.ferengirules.com He does indeed come off as an asshole and a little too in love with himself sometimes but if you listen to some of his commentary on things he's actually quite intelligent. And personally, I think he is hugely underrated as a bass player.
This is all great advice but, it's not without it's flaws. 1. Gene assumes that everyone has a good mother (or parents) like he did. Some people don't have great role models to look up to. That's just how it is. He also neglects to take into account the fact that nowadays, even if you work hard, the chances of success don't increase all that much. There are billions of people that work their ass off and they have nothing to show for it. Why? Various reasons but, not cause they don't work hard. 2. In terms of music, being "unique" is not as profitable anymore as he might think. The music industry gave up on "unique" acts long ago. Nowadays, they only want acts that they can profit from, not acts who can be "unique", making great music in the process but, making them no money. 3. Assuming coming across worthy business partners is as easy as finding flies on a turd during a hot summer day. Most people with experience stick to themselves in order to not have to "share the wealth". There's also the "unbelievable luck" and "money" component - which are pretty hard for most people to come by. 4. It's great the he chose the right paths to travel down in life which led him to make his dreams come true. Unfortunately, that is the utmost exception, not the rule for most people. Most people will never make their dreams come true. Not for lack of trying but, because life simply takes them on different paths. Not everyone will end up at the same destination, even if they try to follow in the footsteps of successful people. If that were the case, everyone would be guaranteed to become successful just by emulating successful people. Life has no "guarantees". 5. Listening is key to growing up and maturing. Those who don't listen and pay attention are doomed to a hard life. Odd how something as simple as listening can be so hard for many to do. On the other hand, just cause some people might seem "unqualified" to be taken into account by those at the top, that doesn't mean they can't offer positive insight. Judging a -book- person by it's cover simply cause they aren't at certain level doesn't mean they can't impart wisdom or good advice. For example, there are many elderly people who never went to school and yet you would be wrong to assume they wouldn't know anything. They might not have "book smarts" but, they have extensive life experience and that can many times be far more valuable than book smarts. 6. Be curious. Being curious throughout life is key. Some though have just given up, not by choice but, due to uncontrollable circumstances in life that have made them cynical and rigid in the ways they think. It's not by choice sometimes but, as I said before, life just doesn't lead everyone down the same path to success. If that were the case, this would be a perfect world. 7. Some people are naturally built to take on challenges but, others don't do so well with a steady stream of "challenge". It's easy to ask for new challenges when you're in a position to tackle them - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Many people out there are not prepared in some, most or all of those aspects to take on challenges. The alarming number of increasing people with depression and other mental and physical issues pretty much proves this. 8. It's somewhat easy to invest in oneself when you have something to invest with. Again, if that were the case and everyone was afforded a guaranteed path to success by life, this would be a perfect world. Everyone would be successful and living in an utter utopia. Sadly, this is not the case. 9. There might be plenty of time to do everything but, as we all know (or should I say, as MOST of us know), time isn't the only factor when it comes to wanting to do things. Many people don't limit themselves to one thing in life but, their goals are sometimes out of reach for a myriad of reasons. Again, it all boils down to the stroke of luck and chance, which changes from person to person. 10. Once again, this all boils down to the path that life takes you down. Some destinations will be extraordinarily pleasant. Others, somewhat pleasant. Still others, not so pleasant and still others utterly unpleasant. Again, there is no guarantee. You do not have true control of where your life path will lead. No one is born thinking they want to become a "loser" in life. Even the wealthy have problems that even lead to things like depression and suicide. Many are just a missing paycheck or two from being homeless or worse. To paint everything with such a broad stroke and say, it's all out there, you just have to want it badly enough is a loaded statement. It's easy to see things from a much more positive view when you haven't tasted desperate in a VERY long while or if at all in your life. Even those that have tasted it before (like Gene) can forget what it's like once their life takes a turn for the better. This is why many people who come into large sums of money in life, wind up losing many dear things like friends and family - cause they forget how to connect with those people once they are at a different level in life. It's easy to lose your head... and even easier to come crashing down.

There's more wisdom in this man's little finger than probably 98% of the American population. Listen to him talk about being curious, about reading all the time, even about things that don't interest him, just to KNOW and understand things. I'm sorry he didn't do more movies. Gene Simmons has EARNED his place in History and KISStory!
Thanks for the comment and for watching Rina. #BTA195 Shine
Through sheer greed. He's a total pig for the way he treated Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. THEY made Kiss, not Gene.

Gene Simmons the GURU.
Thanks for watching :) #BTA799 Luka
First off Kiss is one of my all time favorite bands. Gene is definitely a very smart and ambitious man. There are definitely things you can learn from him. However, things are much different now in the music business. I suspect that if Kiss were to have started now that they too would be just a flash in the pan. He would not be a multi millionaire and would probably be working a regular job.

Thanks for the comment and for watching Toby. :) #BTA338 Shine
Get lucky and have a record company put a band together with you in it! SUCCESS!
Not at all. Look at how many times that has failed. Gene's success is no accident.
Even then, maintaining it is a whole other thing.
Love this man! 🤟🏽
Gene is my hero all the time. Such an inspirational word. I married to Jewish man and until now I didn't know Gene and Paul were Jewish lol..

we should follow these 10 rules
+Be Yourself Go for it. :) #BTA3 Ivan
***** yaaa
This dude helped to change rock n roll forever. Gene never did drugs or alcohol. He remained goal minded, worked hard, got tons of pussy, sold millions of albums, and now he has a beautiful family and he's still going strong. Not to mention he's a jew. No wonder he's got so many haters.

Carmen M. He does look a ton like his father.
As soon as I saw the title I thought of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.

He does indeed come off as an asshole and a little too in love with himself sometimes but if you listen to some of his commentary on things he's actually quite intelligent. And personally, I think he is hugely underrated as a bass player.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching Robert. :) #BTA333 Shine
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, but lose his soul?
Thank you for watching :) #Believe - Feb ( from Evan's team )
That´s a quote from the New Testament. It doesn´t address to Gene as he is a Jew.
Hes arrogant as hell, and im not a fan of KISS, but he is success ful and an inspiration!
Thanks for watching Joseph :) #BTA1326 Luka
