Beyond those games, the Cowboys racked up twelve wins by beating up on bad teams like the Commanders, Giants, Jets, Patriots, and Panthers. In the regular season, Prescott is about the tenth-best quarterback in the league. He produces great statistics. He wins most of the games that the Cowboys are supposed to win. Prior to 2023, he occasionally won some of the games against the better teams. The statistics alone may put him in the top ten, but they don't make him an elite quarterback. Over the course of a four-year contract, the difference between a 50 million per year contract and a 60 million per year contract is 40 million dollars. That's a huge amount of money. On the other hand, a contract for for four years that will pay him 200 million dollars is a contract that should give him everything that anyone could reasonably want in life. Even if only 150 million dollars are guaranteed, he should be able to live extremely well for the rest of his life. Maybe he has something that he wants to do with that extra 40 million dollars, but that money won't buy him a Super Bowl ring. On top of that, winning a Super Bowl as the Cowboys quarterback is worth a huge amount of money. There's a lot of things that can be true all at once in Dallas. Yes, Jerry has been and will remain the #1 thing stopping Dallas from recapturing the glory of the past. He is the one constant in 30 years of post-season futility. But the Jerry issue doesn't mean it's okay to pay Dak in excess of what he's proven he's incapable of delivering after 9 seasons. I'm okay with letting someone else pay Dak because deep down we should know by now we aren't getting that 6th ring with or without Dak -- especially as player after player leaves the team to get paid. If he goes at least we reset the clock and maybe luck into the next AJ Stroud on a cheap 5 year rookie deal.
I don’t think you can throw all that on Romo. He had Jason Garrett for most of his career and only had a decent defense like 2 years. The NFC East was also more competitive.
Nothing will change in Dallas because Jerry Jones’s will be there. They have changed players, coaches and everything else in between. The only thing that has remained the same is Jerry being there
You 100% get it. But even though things are ultimately hopeless with Jerry hanging over the franchise like a death shroud that doesn't mean overpaying players is okay.
Any QB deserves the money for having to deal with Jerry Jones. Dak is not the issue. Jerry Jones is the issue. Jerry Jones won't hire the best coach because he needs to have his hands on everything. The Cowboy's have no run game production and bring back ZEKE! They could've had Derrick Henry at 8 million!! ZEKE!! Remember Mike McCarthy said they were going to run the ball... They can't run!! Of course they're going to lose!
Can say the same about Lamar and Trevor before their contracts were signed. I personally think Dak should want to move on. If I were him I'd play out the contract then wait for the Giants or Raiders to call.
Good Lord,... its about time somebody spoke some common sense when it comes to Dak's contract. You DON'T pay $60 Mil to a guy that has not shown he can even get you past the 1st round of the playoffs.... PERIOD.

I’m sick of everyone blaming Dak for the Green Bay lose. Did you watch the game?? Defense was terrible. Extraordinary terrible. First drive they scored. Dallas went 3 and out. Ok no problem. Second drive they scored. Dak started to press Dallas went 3 and out and CD dropped a 8 yard catch. Third drive they scored. It’s 20-0 by the second quarter. Dak started to really press and throw that INT. It’s 27-0. There has been a handful of teams that have come back from 27-0 so expecting Dak to come up with a miracle is insane. But it’s Dallas fans. GB could have scored 70 on that defense with no problem but they called the dogs off in the early 4th
Jerry Jones is a terrible negotiator, he sees Dak as a grandson and will cave. He forgot that the team has all the leverage as they don't need him anywhere close to the player needing them
Dak you do what Aaron Rodgers did to the Packers. you go win a mvp! and hold them hostage and yes you resign steal some more money nobody truly cares about winning the real game is the contract manipulation
James harden was supposed to knock off the warriors and make the finals if any one of his teammates could have made 1 3pter instead of missing all 23 in a game 7
Wait...let me get this straight. Dak has had five playoff trips, so has Lamar. Both have been less impactful than the regular season. However, the narrative is completely different. Weird.
Everyone saying QBs need a pay cut to win, taking a pay cut does not guarantee a winning season or winning the Super Bowl. NFL teams are getting more money year after year from streaming contracts and tv deals. Let’s not pretend like they aren’t asking for more money
Winning 12 games is not insanity…Bills made multiple Super Bowl and loss and did question the QB. And btw Tony Romo got paid 🤔. And the goal should not be to get to a Super Bowl, it should be to get in the tournament and see what happens

As a cowboy fan I am tired of hearing the comparison between Dak and Romo. Watching the cowboys with Romo and with Dak the talent level Dak has had around him is much better. The seasons the cowboys were 8-8 Dak they would have not won 4 games with Dak at QB. Romo was 2-4 in the playoffs but he actually had to beat good teams when he got there. Dak is 2-5 and 1 win was against a beat up Seattle team that had injuries late in the season and limped into the playoffs and then lost their kicker early in the game. The other win came against a TB team that had a losing record. Dak has lost to 1 GB team that had a terrible defense and a GB team that was a #7 seed. He has also lost to a Rams team that was not great and twice to SF that had good teams but Dak was awful in both games. Romo also only threw 2 interceptions in all 6 games where Dak has thrown 2 per game in the last 2 losses. The organization has also done a much better job drafting since 2015 than they did early in Romo's career.
Dak has not gotten it done with top o-line, weapons, solid defense, etc. imagine his production when he goes to a bottom team lacking all that.

COWBOYS FAN..THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL..EXACTLY
I’m not mad at Dak for asking for 60 million having to put up with Jerry and I’m not mad at the Cowboys for not wanting to pay him but what makes me mad is acting like the Cowboys haven’t been choking for years before Dak and that they been all about winning cause they have not and to act like Brock Purdy would do any better in this situation he wouldn’t if that’s the case ask the 49ers would they give him 60 million Brock Purdy did the exact same thing as Jimmy G got to a Super Bowl had a lead and lost the Cowboys will never have any success until a certain family is gone
Well Dak is a 4th rounder... and Romo was a undrafted free agent.... maybe just maybe...second hand QBs are not the answer especially if you pay them top of the market money... just wait to see Brock Prudy get paid and all the 49ers chances collapses without the avengers.
Yes i agree the same for Tua
Can say the same about Lamar and Trevor before their contracts were signed. I personally think Dak should want to move on. If I were him I'd play out the contract then wait for the Giants or Raiders to call.
As someone who detests Dallas, I hope they are dumb enough to give him a top tier contract. 😅
Good Lord,... its about time somebody spoke some common sense when it comes to Dak's contract. You DON'T pay $60 Mil to a guy that has not shown he can even get you past the 1st round of the playoffs.... PERIOD.
When the Ravens won, they did have a great QB. Flacco played like an all-timer that winter (then reverted to his usual solid starter status).
A better example would be Denver’s most recent SB with the corpse of Peyton Manning.
@@claydouglas2526 Yeah but Peyton went twice to the superbowl with the Broncos. And don’t act like he didn’t have a career year in that Super Bowl run until that Legion of Boom happened😎
@@vincente4570 Huh? That’s not at all a counterpoint to what they’re saying.
Peyton was a great QB in ‘13 and made it to a SB. That - ‘with rare exceptions, you need a great QB to challenge for SBs’ - is quite literally their thesis.
@@claydouglas2526 So we agree then. Peyton barely held on his last season. So with that said there are more examples out there that you haven’t mentioned. But imma take it easy on you because I’m not one of these catz talkin outta my ass went I respond to comments. Jus so you know😎
@@vincente4570 I have no idea what point you’re trying to make, or even what you’re attempting to argue against.
All I said was 1) they’re right that you almost always need a great QB (and Flacco was one for a few months in ‘12 / ‘13) and 2) injured Peyton is a counter example.
Dak getting paid so much is every other team’s benefit. He has been dragging them down and over charging the cowboys for a long time. Keep it up
Dak is STILL a 2nd string QB…💯
Daks azz dude. Trash 🗑️
When Chris is gone Rob does the same topics. Bash the nfl players Union, bash Lebron, and then a baseball topic.
I fail to see the problem here.
Mr Get off my lawn 😅 but him and Chris are a good team
"Pay 'em!" - Howie Roseman nem
Dak is a perpetual 10 win qb! The chances of him being the qp of a super bowl winning team is zero!
But yet cousins, herbert, lawence can get paid & it’s not a big deal, what have they done? If jones in NY got 40+, then Dak is definitely worth 60 😂
Jerry Jones is a terrible negotiator, he sees Dak as a grandson and will cave. He forgot that the team has all the leverage as they don't need him anywhere close to the player needing them
The real question is put Dak on the 49ers what will happen the Brock question is insane lol
It’s crazy Rob will say this but also say the dolphins should pay tua that much lol
You're worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. It's called Capitalism.
Dak you do what Aaron Rodgers did to the Packers. you go win a mvp! and hold them hostage and yes you resign steal some more money nobody truly cares about winning the real game is the contract manipulation
Unfortunately both in NBA & NFL some players can never play well in playoffs. Dak Prescott & James harden are some of them
Never play well?
James harden was supposed to knock off the warriors and make the finals if any one of his teammates could have made 1 3pter instead of missing all 23 in a game 7
@@jaahnnn - The team shot 7 for 44 from the arc.
@@DrPhill96 my bad
They missed 27 threes in a row..so my overall point still stands
@@jaahnnn - Still not the reason they lost.
QBs and starting pitchers make to much money to work once a week
Dallas system requires the qb to have a decent arm I feel I don’t think Brock would be able to run the cowgirls offense
I agree with Rob.
cowboys wins the superbowl by 14 points DAK is games mvp throws for 525 yards 5 tds and no turnovers. 60 million dollar man if i ever seen one
Agree with most of this clip but comeon, CMC and all the talent in SF put Purdy in the SB and championships, he is average too
Winning 12 games is not insanity…Bills made multiple Super Bowl and loss and did question the QB. And btw Tony Romo got paid 🤔. And the goal should not be to get to a Super Bowl, it should be to get in the tournament and see what happens
True!!!!!
I’m so sick and tired about quarterback is getting paid or not listen if you don’t like the guy just get rid of them if you’re not gonna pay them just get rid of them. Dak Prescott has proven that he’s a top 10 quarterback the last two years statistically he has Steadily improved if I’m back just leave the Cowboys and this is coming from a cowboy fan go somewhere else and win.
Empty calorie stats beating up on the Giants and other bad teams then choking against good teams doesn't make you a top 10 QB.
Lol i said this before they paid him the first time. They are good at drafting they could be paying a rookie deal right now
Pay the producers not whose popular
I didn’t know I was watching da damn Skip Bayless show😂
Tony Romo never had the defenses that dak has had. Not even close
They blame Dak for the playoff losses, and yet Dallas' D gave up 27 points to the Green Bay Packers in the first quarter!!! That defense is overrated, and so are the running backs. You win games by controlling the TOP and Dallas can't do that!!
I would let him go. It’s the cowboys they can get a average player out of free agency
You can only give top of the market to QBs who can carry their teams... right now is mahomes and burrow and thats it. All the other ones have something to prove in the playoffs.
@@bernardocoelho6069 Not true. Say what you want. But Josh Allen been winning in the playoffs lately. So I’ll even gamble on that dude despite his turnovers.
Raiders should get Dak Prescott & pay him whatever he wants.
When Dak got his last contract he hugged his brother like he won the Super Bowl. That shows a lot.
Every player should hire Dak's agent, wow
Why tf you would want somebody else to pay Dak 60 but not the Cowboys. It’s some real shady stuff going on,sht doesn’t make any sense
It's all a bluff. Who wants a regular season only QB for $60mm?
Yes.
The team that will pay Dak 50 to 55 million will be a team that desperately needs an upgrade at QB and will perform just good enough to keep themselves out of the top 5 in the draft. It's the NY Giants.
Noone will pay dak cause he ain't worth it..wasn't worth what jerry gave em back then either
Aint no way i would let him hit the open market and they will lose him and that will be a mistake
Next man up money is ruining football. I understand market value, but guys are getting the bag, and they have won two playoff games in 8 years. 60 million just because? Smh
Go Cowboys love my Cowboys but Dak Prescott is not worth 60 Million Should not be being paid more than Patrick Mahomes.
He has a no franchise no trade clause. He’s in the driver’s seat.
Brock Purdy is in the perfect situation. He would do 💩 in Dallas
Cowboys team stacked just like the 49ers . Purdy gets them to the nfc championship.
I was saying that last time they paid him. let some other team do it and Dallas can then go find the QB that might be a winner. Dak we know will not win anything.
In daks defense other that he games he won. He should have won that greenbay game when Rodgers made that crazy sideline throw to the sideline that set up mason Crosby 56 yard fg. Otherwise those other games were choke jobs
Is Dak the only quarterback in the NFL that does not deserve to get paid. They are clowns.
How many times did Aaron Rodgers have great number years and didn't win. Pretty much his whole career.
Turnover Tony! How could we forget about his days as Cowboys QB...
Rob,
Why do you care whether or not the Cowboys pay Dak $60m? It ain’t your team. Don’t you root for Detroit?🤔
Do the same & swap the coaches. It’s the coach just as much.
The playoff knock applies to every QB with multiple seasons not named mahomes
That’s a huge false equivalency. Matt Stafford won a Super Bowl. Joe Burrow beat Mahomes and got to the Super Bowl. Brock Purdy got to a Super Bowl. Lots of quarterbacks have been WAY better than Dak in the playoffs!
@@blaketindle4703lol shout out Jordan love
@@blaketindle4703 matt Stafford hadn't won a playoff game until a at least decade later, burrow was only on the winning end of those games, and so did Jimmy but he clearly wasn't any good. U speak about false equivalencies?
So what Trevor Lawrence do to get paid without questions? Kurt cousins? Joe Burrow stay hurt? And don't give me the crap he went to the superbowl an did not win, heck Hurts went to the superbowl and yall don't slurp him like Burrow.
