The fact that the "family heritage" is so outdated is part of the futility of it all. Back in 1666 being the law man or mayor would be HUGE, in this day, not so much, but Goode was still stuck acting out his family's lot, because they had a deal and couldn't get out of it.

I feel like there should be a spin-off comicbook, a short film, or something that the filmmakers could've done to show what could have been the consequences of any of the Goodes backing out of their deal (like if the book also included a ledger of something horrible/terrifying happening to any of the descendants if they tried to avoid making a sacrifice and had a bigger moral compass). It would not only add to the overarching generational traumas themes of the series, but it'd also make Sheriff Goode even more of a tragic villain character that they may have intended for him to be.
Did you know that the actor who played Thomas Slater was so good in this performance that the director decided to make the camp killer maskless throughout the film. They originally planned to put on the mask very early.
They made it too obvious that it was Goode because he was too certain that Sarah didn't summon the devil. Like the only way you certainly know someone else didn't do it, is if you're the one who did it. 😂
honestly ziggy is my best guess of who took the book, she knows generally how it works, she knows its general location, she has a reason to want to use it (to bring back cindy)
My theory is it's one of the Sunnyvale mayor's kids, since Sheriff Goode was the last of the line for the second-born male heirs for the deal to pass on to (and if the deal was well-known among the Goode family and/or a good portion of the people of Sunnyvale, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to make another deal since their luck is running out).
Deena mentioned that the deal only passes on to the first born of the Goode family so since nick is the first he had to do the deal but I don't think it would work for his brother tho
I absolutely love this trilogy and how all three movies tie together perfectly. I hope there are more movies or even a show in the future. I would definitely tune in.

I keep tearing up every time I watch the scene where sarah is hung because of the way her legacy as a martyr of sorts is just completely wiped away, plus the way this movie kind of works as a metaphor for the way people in places of power abuse and manipulate minorities always gets me too!
This is a movie that hits sapphics more. Even if they are queer, they still aren’t sapphics. I didn’t cry with this movie or anything but def felt it more than others because i can relate in diff ways. But ultimately, everyone connects different with different things.

i would say my favorite movie is fear street 1666 is has an amazing image as in why she was innocent and why goode was evil and it wraps the whole trilogy up really well. Part of me still wanted to see sarah turn full witch mode, show us the full backstory then go out with a bang. But i still like the twist.

It's probably because some people have rose-colored nostalgia glasses for the past, especially if their nostalgia gets exacerbated from going through tough times in the present and/or feeling unsure about the unknowns of the future. I definitely agree that a lot of the past definitely had a lot of horrible atrocities, but it's also important to do like what most historians are taught by looking at most of the past with a neutral perspective - because seeing it only just all negative can give just as much of a reductive image of the past as viewing it with rose-colored glasses. One good example is comparing obesity rates back then compared to modern times.

Like this movie series, liked the reactions. When you talked about living back then - I always wonder if most current humans really grasp that we are just another step in the timeline, and understand that in 400 years the humans of that time will look at us as we look at the ones from this movie's time line? Because that's what's going to happen. Just like one day whatever species takes over homo sapiens will look back on us the way we look back on cro-magnon man, which fell to us, and neanderthals, which fell to cro-magnons. All people in all timelines are weird and gross, we just don't see it while we're in it.

In the original Fear street books, the Goodes were the best noblest people, who always got f***ed over for generations. The Fiers or later called Fear were evil satan worshipping killers, who loved to betray Goode women. There are so many Fear books, but the ones that focus on Sarah Fier and her tragic fate then later curse were the best to me. Evil possession of teenagers, cheerleaders, and the like was awesome in my teens!! 😂 Kinda macabre but at least it was in books.

Girl there are movies who have done this before and better so yeah ... it's a fun trilogy but no masterpiece or anything.
