    I have an LX1 and have never had a laser before . What videos would you recommend for beginners. Or do you have videos on the usage of this machine

    How do you compare it to the 4? Which do you recommend? I’m trying to decide which of the 2 will work best for me.

      They're two very different machines. The LX1 has a 20W blue diode laser which works great, and I love the extra large work area. But the LP4 could be more useful for some folks, having both a 2W IR laser for marking all types of metals and plastics, and a 10W blue diode laser for wood, stone, etc., so it can work a wider range of materials than the LX1. And it's portable, but that also means a small work area. The LX1 is better suited for batch processing, large jobs, commercial work, etc. The LP4 would be good for a jeweler's shop or a small business that needs a portable machine. Both are great machines. It really depends on what you plan on doing with yours long term. I posted a video a few months ago comparing all of their portable machines: ruclips.net/video/OAT--70RPts/видео.html

    Question! Why'd smoke go? No filter at all?

      Where do you think it goes? A filter only traps some particulates - it doesn't totally eliminate smoke. Even my xTool smoke purifier with Hepa filters still needs to be ventilated outside via the workshop exhaust. If you have a workshop, then you should have an exhaust system installed to keep the air clean in there no matter what you're doing.

    Hi James, I have just treated myself to a new LX1 max after using the LP2 for quite a while but needed a larger surface for engraving. The maching is lovely but i cant get it to connect to my laptop via the USB cable. I have downloaded all the drivers they provided and the LP desktop program but it won't connect. How did you manage to connect yours?

    @james what is that black aluminium sheet , how did you get the mat black finish on aluminium

    • @JamesBiggar
      @JamesBiggar  Год назад

      Just black paint. You can buy aluminum sheet that's already painted in a variety of colours at your local building supply store. We use it in construction for things like window, door and siding trim, fascia, flashing, eavestrough, etc. Comes in large 2ft x 200ft long rolls, but you should be able to buy it by the foot too
