  • Gabriel Hernandez, who is part of a fan group that organized a 'reverse boycott' of the Oakland Athletics in 2023, joins New York Post Sports anchor Brandon London again to discuss how A's fans reacted to news of the club's temporary move to Sacramento and how a compromise can be reached between the fans and John Fisher, the team's principal owner.

Oakland has 57 years of hating its baseball team's owners going back to Charley Finely -- who also tried to leave Oakland after moving there. Here's a clue: If you don't "boycott" your team you don't need to do a "reverse boycott" when they decide to leave.

Oakland doesn’t even go to the games… why are they mad they left?

The owner purposefully got rid of all the team's best players to try and tank on purpose to leave, and players who want to stay in Oakland are getting punished for it. Also, fans know that buying tickets helps fund the owner's new ballpark in Las Vegas, so they are delibaretly not going.

I use to live in Richmond, not far from Oakland, in the 80s..the coliseum use to be packed. You could buy cheap bleacher sets in the sun to enjoy the game. But they took them away and jacked up the prices. Then started selling stars yearly for over a decade, you can't expect to keep fans doing that. This was ownership sabotaging oakland to get out of there. I haven't been to an A's game since the early 2000's since I moved out of state, I can only guess it got worse.

@@user-pw3ji3rn3s But the Cubs have signed some star players. A's have hardly spent a dime.

Sac aint that far, less than 1 hour drive. You dont have to worry about breathing fentanyl, getting robbed. Sac has an enormous A's fan base, they'll show up to every game.
