Every single Cult of the Lamb animation I have ever seen portrayed Lamb as a silly tiny little guy fooling around. None made me see them as a big and broken man following some cruel God's petty plan.
I love this more serious and somber interpretation of The Lamb. It really gives off the vibe of The Lamb being an unwilling participant to the weird twists of fate they are subject to in the game, to the point of ennui. But they still keep moving forward, bound by a sense of duty, and a desire to stomp the corruption the gods have brought to the world. As much as I love the goofy atmosphere of Cult of the Lamb, I’d love to see a more serious take on it like what we see in this animatic.
i mean the lamb really didn't ask for ANY of this, they watched their family get murdered by the 4 heritics, they themselves get killed an a vengful old god uses them as a puppet to get revenge on his siblings... The cult was the only time the lamb had control
I didn’t even see this post as I just made a very similar one. I agree greatly with this take. As great as the usual traditional, even mostly canon depictions of the Lamb are as a goofy and charming Eldritch warrior and caretaker of a brainless lot of followers is, I wish to see more stuff like this in the fandom.
the premis of cult of the lamb has such good drama potental the last survivor of a genocide done by gods makes a deal with the devil only to end up with a cult just like the ones that caused the genocide.
The sheer amount of exhaustion on the lamb's face is amazing! It truly makes it feel like they were just walking through life because they had literally nothing left, not even their own life.
I think this is the first animation where the lamb isn't a murderous psychopath or at least enthusiastic about their "work". Nice to see a version where the lamb just does what they have to and being completely numb to it. Also great work

I don’t even know where to start, but I think I’ll explode if I don’t comment a bit about all the gorgeous details in this video. I absolutely adore the art style and the way you use swirling shapes in your line art to make such soft wool, especially when contrasted with the jagged line art in some of the rougher surroundings. What really grabbed me about this video is how you draw the lamb. The fur looks so soft, but the tiredness in their expression really makes them feel so much more conniving and aware of everything that’s happening around them. On the surface level, they seem sweet and innocent, just a harmless little lamb. But the way you draw their expressions, their composure, and even their clawed paws? You found a way to perfectly reveal how dangerous this lamb really is under the guise of their gentle appearance. It’s incredible. It doesn’t feel like a wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing kind of thing, it feels like the sheep was always the dangerous one and we were all too foolish to notice. Like, no one would suspect a sweet little lamb, and they know just how to weaponize that fact. Does this make any sense? I might be over-analyzing a bit, but I absolutely adore your art style in this video. I never really cared about Cult Of The Lamb, but I would absolutely play it if it was made in this style. This video might even inspire me to watch a whole playthrough of the game. Either way, this is incredible and I can’t wait to see what other kinds of art you might make!
I love how the part that went ‘ I’ve had a change of heart ‘ since in the song it implied that the heart had changed for good though with the animation it implies it in the opposite way. I also find that super cool along with how it gave me the feel that the thing with the big black claws was trying to scare the lamb in a way though it wasn’t working, I haven’t played the game and I don’t know much about it but this is gorgeous from the colour palette to the expressions!! Amazing!!
Rather late but if you still haven't played I'm more than happy to enlighten on some things, the animation is stunning and the poetrayal of the lamb I can't even put into words it's so good
I have been coming back to watch this several times since it first showed up in my recommendations and I must say I adore this melancholy, contemplative and princely depiction of the Lamb. The saccharine goofy darkness of the Cult of the Lamb is immensely charming, as are the common depictions of the Lamb as a Murderhobo or an exasperated parent of its Cult at having manage everything for the lot of them… But this video depicts the Lamb in a more meaningful and even tragic light at what has become of his life is just delightful to see. Love it.

everything down to how the pupils are wide and diluted and they look like they are water color the contrast of the thickness of the lines no to mention i love this song, I was always made slightly uncomfortable by some other fan art as they keep the goofy style while casually bringing the darker topics and themes of the game in, that's the style of the game but I thought i was crazy for the longest time like i was the only one made uncomfortable by the death of the followers and the abuse not only inflicted by narinder but by the bishops afflicted on narinder I always wanted to see an au where they took it more seriously. And tried to give the characters a little more realistic personality. I always thought this games characters and story's could be transformed and reused for another one more to my taste because i already love the normal one, this is the closest ill ever get to that

I couldn't put a reason as to why I thought the lamb's design was so compelling but you described it so well!
Also the pupil-less eyes I think add to that, both to how tired they look and their loss of innocence
I thin the lamb in this look resigned and tired, not conniving.
I like the detail that the back of the lamb's robe/cloak has the Sacrifice-based sigil from Inscryption
