- I Know You By Heart was titel of Laura´s song. Laura Branigan was singer, songwriter and actress of here heart. She was born July 3 1957. Laura made Gloria - Self Control in the 80´s, the must famus songs in the world. In August 26. 2004 Laura passed away of a brain aneurysm. She was 47.
Here family lost a sister, daughter, A great missing. The world lost the must GREAT singer ever. Laura we got you in heart forever.
Laura I miss you so much,You gave me the music for life. I will remember you forever I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
I produced this video for Other Half Entertainment in 2005. Thank you all for your positive comments and messages. I'm glad it is still so well received several years after it was created.
I think the video captures the person she really seemed to be: on these photos she is posing with people who liked her as more than just a singer but as a person. In her interviews she was always warm, down to earth, vulnerable. She was a human being, not a brand, image or object as every other singer is. The photos show how much she loved people, how sensitive and empathetic she was. She reminds me of Princess Diana that way: classy, a lady, empathetic, kind, shy, wore her heart on her sleeve, vulnerable.
I don't think we will ever see anyone like Laura again.
Rob, God Bless You for putting this together. She was such a Great Lady, and will NEVER be forgotten. You have contributed to that fact.

One the MOST underrated voices of ALL time,brilliant performer,timeless talent and most sensational lady on stage! Laura Branigan was one of the classiest women in showbiz with so much to offer, gone WAY too soon. In an era of JUNK music and untalented pop stars we ALL miss Laura's tremendous talents! She filled us with LOVE,humanity and LIFE. I cant say that for todays trashy music scene.

I remember growing up with the 80's music, and Laura Branigan was a favorite of mine. What a gorgeous voice she had. She died on my birthday. It was heartbreaking for me and I know for many others too. Gone way too soon. RIP Laura. At least we have the memories of your beautiful voice, and your voice will live on and you will in our hearts.
She spent a lot of time with Her ailing Mother before passing away , a true Person who cared.
She did the same with her husband who died of cancer in 1996. Turner Classic Movies should use this song for there annual tribute of those who worked in the entertainment industry who have passed away.

Many years ago back in the early 2000s, I transferring my beta video collection to computer hard drives
and once again I stumbled into Laura is self-control video.
All I had was the video I didn't know who she was, I know that I loved the song but could not reference or index until just lately
I had to listen to the old video and take sections of the audio piece by piece, each piece of this audio I post to a search
and finally, was able to find Laura´s songs.
And now I'm heartbroken to find that she's gone I am her age.I am blessed that I can enjoy her work.
Her song self-control invokes an unusual visceral feeling.not typical of most musical enjoyment, unique only with her peace.
but the good news is she lives on forever electronically, she's immortal ,the next best thing to Paradise for now.

Life is so strange.until 2 days ago,I only knew her for the song Gloria,and that she had passed away in early 2000's,and that she was in her 40's,and that I felt very sad when it happened,even though I hadn't been an avid fan.(not because I didn't like her singing;I was very distracted and busy during my 30's,and just would listen to the radio once in a while.
By chance,two days ago, I happened to watch video w/ a live performance of power of love on youtube.I was not previously aware that she had recorded it .Now,after watching several videos of her performances and interviews,I feel tremendous grief by her passing away.
She was a beautiful,kind,and tremendously talented angel.
I remember in 80's my mother was listening to Laura, i can't forget those days and thanks mom for teaching me real music from when i was a little boy. May my mom and her soul rest in peace.

I remember how devastated I was the day I heard on the radio that Laura Branigan had passed away from a brain aneurysm. I loved her music, and had several of her albums. A fabulous talent and a lovely voice taken from us much too soon. It's still hard to believe. Rest in peace, Laura!

Brian Chapman] Laura Branigan was a unique talent but even more, she was a rare individual. After her husband became ill she quit singing to care for him. As you might guess he was very ill and was cared for not at a hospital but at home. By the time he passed away Laura Branigan's health was gone. It took a long time to recover after which she started a comeback. She was doing well then she became ill and never recovered. I noted all this from memory which I read many years ago. I do miss her wonderful voice.

I was in love with Laura from "All Night with Me" on. She drew me in with that first single I played on little KFTW in '82 and never let go. Well, I was in love as much as one can be from many miles and having never met her in person. Beautiful in all ways, and I cannot play "Never in a Million Years" now without coming close to losing it. Thank you, darlin', and be at peace.
Oh yes. I remember her. So beautiful; such a beautiful powerful voice... I've come to the conclusion that's it's all a toss up here. Whether good, bad, rich,poor---we just can go at anytime.... However, I believe I read, at the time, that Laura had a days long headache. Usually, we take aspirin; most don't know aspirin thins out the blood and there is a danger of having a brain aneurysm. I still wonder if this is what triggered her untimely demise?..... RIP Laura Branigan. Will never forget you.

I was waking up by Laura's song when I was teen at around 18. I grow up with her songs. It gives me the same feeling when I listen to hear NOW! I was disconnected from the world of music since then. I have just learnt that she passed away in 2004. How sad is to see she is gone.
Her voice her beauty I absolutely love her , her songs remind me the situation and where I was when I hear one of her songs . But self control is my favorite song of all time may she rest in peace lovely lady !!!!!

If ever a singer died too soon, this is she! I am 54 today and became a #1 fan when I was 14 with her debut album Branigan - still regularly listen to her nuggets of ear gold and search randomly for stories about her. There was just something about her that was pure and organic and deserving - so superior to so many 'stars' of our generations.
