  • Just like anyone can tell you, Chicago is known for its baseball teams and pizza. But, just like we have two baseball teams, we also have TWO pizzas. However UNlike our baseball teams, both of our pizzas are winners every time!
If you have fond memories of lush deep-dish pizza, you've probably visited Chicago a few times. But those who live in Chicagoland know the true local favorite is the thin, crunchy crust pie you can eat on a napkin! Probably a closer relative to authentic Italian pizza than the classic Chicago thick crust pie, Tavern Style delivers as much flavor in a few light bites as huge chonk of deep dish, and you'll still have room for dessert (may we suggest an Original Rainbow Cone?)
If you have enjoyed this - or any - of our episodes, please drop a few words on us (easy on the four-letter variety, please!) in the comments section and tell us what you liked or didn't about it. Not sure what the heck we're doing? Wait 'til the end (or scrub forward you fidgety you) and click on the end screen link to our video that explains it all. Or just click on this here link, here -----} • Chicago Style Eats - E... to get right to it.
As always, THANK YOU for watching.

For a thin crust pizza, it has to be Neapolitan style pizza for me! And for thicker crust pizza, I prefer Sicilian pan pizza. Does that mean I am not a true Chicagoan since I do not prefer either of the pizzas originating in Chicago! Great episode!

We’re pretty sure there’s enough pizza to go around in this city! Who’s your go-to for Neapolitan? Out is Spacca Napoli in Ravenswood.
We’re not sure if we’ve ever had Sicilian pan pizza. Where’s our best bet for that?

@@ChicagoStyleEats-rz2rc If you want an old school Sicilian pan pizza, try D'Amato's on Grand Avenue in Noble Square/West Town. For the hipster version, I like Pizza Friendly Pizza in Ukrainian Village/West Town. Let me know what you think! And we will have to go to Spacca Napoli together some time! Craft Pizza or Coalfire were our go places for Neapolitan pizza to when we lived in the city. Now that we are in the suburbs we like Forno Rossa in Elmwood Park.
