Agree on all counts. Recovery shoe for me, and tempo on less-technical surfaces. Thanks for your review - Craft, keep it up but use a new shoe last as there’s always too much fabric up top.
Man, people with regular feet should stop complaining about shoes that fit bigger feet. 😊 I’ve got high feet and my trouble with lockdown is simply not leaving the laces loose enough. Sounds like these might be perfect.
Thank you so much for the review, I’ll wait for the second iteration, and hopefully they will fix some of the things that you had mentioned. I can’t do the thin tongue thing, that’s why I don’t run in the speed goat or the tecton X for that reason alone. They need to stop trying to save cost in the tongue and giving us something that is less than acceptable.
Completely agree with this. Not a technical trail shoe due to the lockdown, but do enjoy them for recovery and tempo. Craft was so close with this shoe.
Interesting to see your review. I have about 250 miles in this shoes. Overall a good an comfortable shoes, up to 50 mile races, with a good ground feel and grip. Main downsides I noticed over time are: 1. uneasy to get your feet into the shoe 2. those shoes keep water enormously, so not useable for races with river crossings (you can notice this if you clean your shoes under water: they double in weight!) 3. shoelaces loosen over time when racing in mud or dirt (had to re-lace yesterday 5 times during a 20 mile race)
Great honest review Steven. I would have thought this shoe would have been lighter given the materials. Bummer about the fit and lockdown. Once they fine tune those issues it sounds like this would be a solid option.
I had the exact same experience with the shoe. It has a LOT of potential and that's not to say that the shoe isn't fun to run in, but I'm finding that it's not my 'go-to' trail shoe due to it's negatives.
@@UltraTrailSteven Oh really 😍 Very interesting 👍 In my opinion the midsole of the Ultra Glide wasn’t that kind of a banger as I expected it through the hype beforehand 😄 And the midsole of Ultra Glide 2 is almost the same as my memory’s serves right 😁 So I really believe you 👌
Curious if the Pure Trail got further testing on wet rocks for traction and how that worked out? And with the further usage durability test? Thanks for doing this video!

Yep Craft is on to something, and a new last would be great!

These would definitely be worth a shot then

Yeah the tongue is so key to overall comfort of the shoe.

Hopefully the next version will nail it!

Yeah I’m hopeful for the next version. Thanks, Sage!

Great review!!!
Glad to hear I wasn't off base in my thoughts. Thank you!
@@UltraTrailSteven Go check out my review 😉
Letsss gooo! 🔥Looks like an interesting shoe, awesome review Steve!
Thanks

From the look of the shoe it really reminds me on the Salomon Ultra Glide 1 & 2 🫶🏻 It really looks amazing 😍🙏 Good job mate 💪🔥
There are a couple of similarities to the Ultra Glide, but I definitely prefer this midsole.

@@pranayama-running-Jendrik yeah I wasn’t too impressed with the Ultra Glide either.

Not really. It doesn't rain much here in CO. I have other shoes to test and others I prefer, so I haven't worn them much since testing for this video.
@@UltraTrailSteven Got it, thanks for the note!
Maybe the problems are not with the shoe, but with your lack of voluminosity???!! ;)
Ha yeah if only I had more voluptuous foot :)
