That is the true problem. People do not take accountability. Most people would instantly give up their right to vote to permanently avoid jury duty. The Assassins and Templars would take a break from their respective ideologies and force every individual to take responsibility for their actions. Only then will there be peace. Templars are just supplying this demand. Assassins are giving more liberty to the individual, who does not possess the capacity to use their freedom wisely.
I agree, but what is the point in the herd? This is where I meet a eugenic nihilism, and beat my head against the dense fog of depression. Why even exercise control over a people who need the system to contain their irrationality, impulsivity, and slavish rebelliousness? Why must the masters be levelled by the sick and lowly, the degenerate and weak-willed? Why not just rid the Earth of we paltry peasants and be done with it? The Earth would feel the better for it, and it’s not clear that maintaining a greedy peasant caste that demands more for less, in the name of its innumerable “rights”, is in anyone’s interest- least of all the planet’s. But in this I feel terribly conflicted. Rationally I conclude genocide is sensible, optimal, and perhaps unavoidably necessary. But I feel God disgraces such sentiments; and I feel terrible shame for drawing such conclusion.
Reminds me of another quote, "Give me a break. People don't want freedom. They want boundaries, rules! Protection... From invaders and from themselves. People want a leader who will give them both the support and the constraints to keep chaos at bay..."
Favorite line from Haytham: "We did not kill your people! We did not serve the Crown! We worked to see this land united and at peace!" The truly most sincere and compassionate Templar was definitely Colonel Monro, however.
The people will never have the power, only the illusion of it...and here's the real secret: they DON'T WANT IT! The responsibility is too great to bear! It is why they are so quick to fall in line as soon as someone takes charge! They want TO BE TOLD WHAT TO DO, they YEARN for it! Little wonder that since all mankind was built to SERVE! - Haytham Kenway so descriptive, so true...
Because the people are educated by this satanic bastards. In school you will never learn how to be a leader. You only learn how you can be a good livestock for leaders. That’s the problem. Haytham is a psychopath he have not much feelings
@@ArgonRUclips But he is a psychopath. He has lack of emotions and he want *his* peace by controlling other people’s life and that’s typical for psychopaths. There are a lot of other ways to live in peace but Templar’s have this satanic ideology and only want control
I respect the Assassins for their dream of freedom and desire for the preservation of free will, but I know in my heart that I am a Templar, I don't want to control the world or its people, only guide to something better
templar is a power-hungry is just an assassin point of view, the same as how templar view on assassin is an anarchy. there isnt any villian in battle of ideology my friends. is there a corrupt templar? yes is there a bad assassi?yes both sides has their bad fruit, but it didnt change the fact both of their idology is a path toward peace. freedom that the assassin seeks means human has huge free will to enjoy the world with fun and enjoyment but at the price of there will be more conflict along the way between people's point of view. the order that the templar seek will achieve more peace and stability at the price of human's free will become very limited.
For some free will is everything. I, for one, would never give up my free will. But then again, i do realize, that in a big picture, a world that assassin's dreamed of... is just a bedtime story. World needs Order, Stability - Peace.

one of the reasons why I love the assassin's creed series both the Assassins and the Templars are just to good idk what side to choose but History is indeed a playground
hmm all Templars are good but Haytham and Gov.Torres were great in my book but I'm dying to know who where the present day Templars shown in AC3 im not sure how to describe it but they were in Suits while Vidic was holding the Templar sword (that pic just looked amazing)
Yeah, I'm so disapointed of how Vidic dies. Torres is a great Templar yes. All AC4 templars are goos actually because they're right : pirates are evil.
(Directly from the Assassin's Creed Wikia) It is easy (and common among Assassins) to mistake the Templar pursuit for control as a pursuit for power. Whilst many Templars were indeed after power, the Order's base ideology itself is about attaining control in order to enable humanity to transcend their animal roots, and become a species perfectly in harmony and in peace. That is why Templars tend to agree with Assassins when it comes to pursuing peace, but detest their pursuit of freedom. On rare occasions when there is peace between the Assassins and the Templars, such as during Francois de la Serre's reign as Grand Master, radical elements on both sides may attempt to resume the conflict. De la Serre and his Assassin counterpart, Mirabeau, were both murdered by their more radical subordinates for prioritizing peace over ideology.
One time my class and I were receiving awards in academics (I got one for AP World History) and for it I got a business suit like the Templar Agents in that scene at the end, so I went to my sister (Who acts like a little philosopher when she plays Assassin's Creed) and said, "May the Father of Understanding Guide us." Priceless.
Cool story bro, but the words of Edward Kenway forever echo in my mind "U would see the world locked away in a neatly furnished prison, safe and sober but sapped of all spirt and dulled beyond reasoning."
To say that nothing is true is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and we that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic. Long live the Creed.
@@ostypicgaming5725 But if they just kill a certain person in an important positition. What does that leave behind total chaos, more death more suffering comes from it. You need to have a system and sure a lot of templars are corrupt. Dictators are bad but freedom from all isn't better either.
Back then, i was a fanboy of the Assassins due to their aspirations of freedom. But, i realized that if you have too much freedom to handle, it may lead to chaos if not checked, and Shay Cormac showed me that sometimes they can be a troublemaking violent pricks too. Shay was the reason why i prefer both the balance of light and shadow, freedom and order of the Assassins and Templars' edicts.
People hate Templars yet truly don't understand them. This ignorance is what continues to drive the world into further chaos. People wish to be controlled. They wish to be protected. They want to know what is their purpose. The Templars know that only through true peace can this be reality but must do ugly things to achieve it and people hate it. Peace will come when this ignorance is rooted out and eliminated only then will the world know peace. That understanding is what binds the Templars. May the father of understanding guide us
AC Rogue may satisfy some people about it. Although, Haytham's character already did it in AC3. At least, I approve most of the principles. The Templar Order was still corrupted within members in AC3. Betrayal and greed, so they could not succeed.

also in AC 1, the doctor says that every discovery and invention is made by templars only. Every great leader who ever lived, or the great scientists. Though he does not mention this directly, it is what he means. But in AC 3, it turns out he was wrong as Washington wasn't a templar. This confuses me, yet most of the leaders were Templars, including Gandhi I guess
@@jayanthbit2051 Washington was a wildcard that they couldn’t control, why do you think they tried to crush him using the British? They wanted it to remain a colony. When that failed, they just ended up infiltrating and taking control of the United States from the inside anyways. So most if not all future presidents were Templars or controlled by them.
I was once misguided but when I show this video and started to learn more about the Templars. I finally learned the truth... This video tells a message, a story... A story that will one day be unfolded. Most people will never understand the truth. They will always be blended by lies. The path to the Templar is a path to wisdom. Follow this path and you all will finally understand the truth. Don't be so quick to judge. Those who agree with the Assassins are very blended. The Assassins are cruel and ignorant, they only speak the language of death. Open your eyes! Half of humanity is blended by lies. But we can change that... Join the Templars. Guys it's simple morality. Doing something "right" but in a wrong way defeats the purpose. Stop pulling up all the codes of Assassins Creed. It's simple why Assassins are always better than those Templars.
I think we should have both the ideals of the Assassin's and the Templar's. A world of peace and order, but against tyranny. A world of freedom and equality, but against greed and elitism.
When I played this back in high school I believed full hearted that the assassins were right... Now as an adult I see the templars are making more sense.
there is a very thin line between peace and freedom. Peace can be achieved by submition and service,it's safe... , but freedom ,freedom is much dangerous and fragile ...
Before Assassin’s Creed turned into a social justice platform, the Assassins and Templar orders both served as the extremes of both aspirations for Man Kind. To be both Free and Safe to put it in simplistic terms, this was best displayed in the Trilogy revolving around the New World where we saw both the consequences and fruits of both trying to shape a new civilization. The Assassins pursuit of freedom caused chaos and destruction but did allow for men and women to find their own path. The Templars pursuit of order brought enslavement and cruelty but this brought an end to conflicts with the goal of seeing civilisation flourish as one entity. Members from both sides would become disenchanted with their goals and question their actions while others would become fanatics believing in their creed to be for the betterment and righteousness of civilization. Assassin’s Creed is the hidden battle for the Soul of Mankind which is fitting for its beginning to be during the Crusades where men discovered a piece of what lies beyond the veil, an ability to think beyond their means which has always pushed forward man kind since we left Eden in the begining.
Haytham and shay were a different breed of templars. Honestly as a kid you love the assassins. But when you grow up you understand the templars. The assassin's "freedom" just doesn't work in this world. As haytham said freedom is an invitation to chaos, and that the people choose nothing. And that they have the same goals but it can't be without order and discipline
I got onto this franchises since when i was child, during my juvenile, i was believe fighting for freedom like what assassin's done are such noble cause and then i got older, got a law degre, read plato's dialogue along the way and becoming a law practicioner and then realized that the templar wasn't wrong after all
Same for me. While I appreciate the Assassins and their stories, I've grown to become a Templar at heart. The Assassins of today are anarchists. God I hope we get another Templar centered game.
they have the chaos they talk about, but no true peace has surfaced yet. the creed has grown too silent and waited too long in the darkness, its time to serve the light again.
"the Assassins saw us....like tyrant....thirst of powers....but the assassins are too blind to see then the free will lead even to problem.....problem that can be prevent it.....we don't seek tyranny....only...guidance...to all mankind...about what was right and what was wrong...they don't seek too much what is good for them...we just let them tell us ..how we can make them a far more better world"
Maye, but Juno wants humans as slaves, and the Templars believe that they are made to serve, so I doubt that the Templars will unite with the Assassin's to defeat Juno.

I think the true answer lies in between. Freedom yes but not too much freedom that creates chaos and destruction. Order yes but not too much order that even free will is enslaved.
People nowadays are ready to sell their freedom for safety. Just the way Templars planned all along. And from one perspective I may understand it... But selling my freedom, my free will I will not dare... no matter the consequences. So my heart stays with Assassins!
You are free to have your own free will yes... assassin.....but can you see how far peoples use your free will as a shield to cause enought chaos...when we will see...that a vicious cycle of cowardness.....somes don't see how this world is easy to destroy.....and when still your ideals will stand.....more this world will fall into chaos and destruction.....how far your free will will reward you ?.....think about it....and you will see why the Templar exist.... May The father of the Understanding guide us.
Honestly, both the templars and assassins are wrong, but also right. A combination of both freedom AND order is viable and wanted. Too much freedom will lead to chaos, due to the irresponsibility of man. Too much order will give us a stable society, yes, but something like mind control will strip us of everything that makes us human. Compassion, creativity, love, imagination. There ALWAYS has to be a balance in pretty much everything. But between these the two extreme factions the templars have the right idea. If the goal is peace and a stable society (which let's be honest is a more noble and realistic goal than "feedom"), the templars are the way to go. Besides, the templars don't wanna "enslave" the people and are in fact against it. They just use deception and manipulate corruption for the greater good.
Also if we look at the real world, where there are no ancient mind controling artifacts(or are there?) then all the templars strive for is to unite everyone peoacefully and stablilize the world.
"Besides, the templars don't wanna "enslave" the people and are in fact against it. They just use deception and manipulate corruption for the greater good." I never was one for the "noble lies" approach. Every time I get the impression that the Templars have it right, at least to a certain extent, I always get yanked back by the fact that they seem to insist on this view of themselves as nannies whose job it is to spin fairy tales of "safety and security" in order to make all of us "play nice". The world is not a safe place. Never was, never will be. And it is an Assassin's vocation to learn to navigate this reality and help other to the same. It isn't easy, or even particularly pleasant, but it is at least based on a desire to live in the world *as it is*. Which, lest there should be any doubt, requires the utmost self-discipline. That the world does not deal in safety does not provide an excuse for doing whatever whim dictates. But it does demand discernment and lucidity as distinct from mere obedience. Another way of looking at it is that Templars seem to think that they can make us all happy by giving us a purpose--which it is their prerogative to provide. People like to talk about the "pursuit of happiness", but to me that seems like the Founding Fathers' diplomatic way of saying that you are free to chase as many wild geese as you like. The Templars know this full well: "There is no single path through life that's right and fair and does no harm." (at 1:51) So why insist on making people believe that there is one? Happy New Year.
ᗰEGᗩ ᗪᗩᑎK ᗰ8 Actually, this was the way Haytham saw it. Because of Connor and his work, he saw the effects of the corporation of both Assassins and Templars could have done if only they'd unite, as he stated in the novel AC: Forsaken. Only that he gave up on that dream because of Connor chasing the Templars out of the Colonies, (although in the novel, Connor really was sad and it was against his will that he had to kill Haytham)
What did they do wrong? How about looking at the human race and how they choose to live life and going: Hey bitch, you're doing it wrong! Do it my way or be hung!
Even if that free choice leads us to our destruction? You'd leave life up to chance. People need a context in which to live life and the Templars were giving it to them. The assassins created nothing but chaos and disorder. How much blood has been spilled because of the actions of the Assassins? Millions, Billions? Genocides, Famine, death and destruction all thanks to the Assassins. Yeah buddy....great group of people.
Both Assassins and Templars have good and bad pointes. Templars dominate and often turn into power hungry overlords (Borgias, Starrick, Lee) while the Assassins after liberating the people often let things go to hell (Jacob Frye is an excellent example in Syndicate, fortunately his sister cleans up after him).
A life without freedom is no longer living but rather just surviving. All men die, but not all ever really live. Freedom is worth fighting and if necessary dying for, and as such it should be given to all men and women. What they do with their freedom is their own business. Also leadership comes at a great price and those who serve are the ones meant to be leaders, rather than power hungry fools who think they deserve authority. So as long as templars pursue their quest with their attitude of great pride may they never find true power or peace. You can have all the power in the world, but without a right heart, you will never be satisfied or at peace.
That'll be true if I ask to a slave. but , I'm not saying about being prisoners. if the purpose of live is to be happy then people would gladly live the illusion to be happy : cf Matrix and Cypher's betrayal
exactly, the true power is to know what controls us and to live with it, that's why people love conspiracy theories so much, they like to feel that there is an Evil mastermind behind everything, that kind of justify the prison we feel by living in our societies.
I am an Assassin, but I respect the Templars as well.Because their purpose matches with us at some point. The world of course needs freedom, yes.Butit also requires law and order. And the order must be moderate, people must have their freedom.A freedom to choose,a freedom to live with peace and without discrimination. So what we,the assassins want,is freedom and peace. And templars want order and peace. So,as our purpose meets at the same point,I think the war between us is meaningless. We can fight together,to throw down the tyrant.Maybe the assassins were destroyed a long time ago,so were the templars. But we can still recreate them and fight together to live, not to exist. Victoria to the Assassini and Templars!!!
"They don't want it! The responsibility is too great to bare!" Only half right, the people very much want power, but they abhor responsibility, obligation, the demands of selfless spirituality. They do want to be told what to do, but not by individuals, by selfishness, not by selflessness.
Too much freedom leads to chaos, but then again too much order causes uprisings and rebellions. Both the assassins and templars are flawed but can both end their problems by working together. But the Templar leaders abuse their own power which will ultimately hurt the templars, if the leaders die the assassins and templars may find peace and work together.
On the 24th day of 2161 Isu Era, Samael, an Isu official tasked with the preparatory work for Project Anthropos as ordered by the High Council, referred to Yaldabaoth as the Father of Understanding alongside Saklas as the Mother of Wisdom and Samael as the Sacred Voice.[6] As part of the Capitoline Triad, Jupiter was titled the Father of Understanding, in counterpart to Juno as the Mother of Wisdom and Minerva as the Sacred Voice.[7] Antiquity and early history The first known use of the title was in 47 BCE, when the Medjay Bayek of Siwa entered Cyrene in order to assassinate the Egyptian Order of the Ancients member Flavius Metellus. As he made his way to the Roman Akropolis, he heard an orator who served the Order of the Ancients proclaim that the Order's rule was fated to happen, before invoking the Father of Understanding to guide humanity.[8] However, its apparent meaning would not be revealed until three years later on 15th March 44 BCE, when the leader of the Order of the Ancients, Lucius Septimius engaged in a fatal battle with the Hidden One Aya. When Aya questioned whether Julius Caesar was the new king of the Order of the Ancients, Septimius corrected her, insisting that Caesar was the Father of Understanding. However, with Caesar's assassination shortly thereafter in the Theatre of Pompey at the hands of Aya, Brutus, Cassius, and 38 other Roman Senators, the title was not passed on to a successor and eventually fell out of use.[9] By the time of the 9th century Viking expansion into England, members of the Anglo-Saxon Order of the Ancients revered the trinity of the Father of Understanding, the Mother of Wisdom, and the Sacred Voice. It was noted in King Alfred's research that these beliefs came from the Gnostic texts, and were therefore sacrilegious to his accepted religion of Christianity. He stated that the Mother of Wisdom and the Sacred Voice were vile blasphemies, and maintained that the true Father of Understanding was God. After destroying the Order of the Ancients in England through the unwitting help of the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, King Alfred privately vowed to create a new order in which the Father of Understanding would be revered as an almighty source of goodness, harmony, and order for all mankind.[2] Influence Over the next two hundred years, worship of the Father as an entity ceased with the rise of Christianity and the name instead became a symbolic catchphrase among Templars, representing their goal to lead humanity by adopting the role of a concerned "father" instructing a wayward child. However, this did not stop the Templars' continued use of the Father's title among themselves. As early as the Third Crusade, the Levantine Templars would sign his name as a closing in their letters.[10] Similarly, the Italian Templars during the Renaissance would invoke him when resolving meetings. Notably, the Italian Grand Master and then-Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia twice called upon the Father to bless his fellow Templars: once in 1476 after the assassination of the Duke of Milan Galeazzo Maria Sforza,[11] and again two years later when finalizing the plan to assassinate both Lorenzo de' Medici and his brother Giuliano during Sunday Mass at the Duomo as part of the Pazzi conspiracy to remove the Florentine Medici family from power.[12] Use of the Father's name expanded even further westward to the Spanish Templars, with Grand Inquisitor Tomás de Torquemada's personal enforcer Ojeda twice calling on the Father during the Reconquista. His first invocation was while meeting with Torquemada in 1489 to discuss their plan to seize both the Apple of Eden held by Sultan Muhammad XII of Granada, and the pieces of the Shattered Staff of Eden that were spread throughout the Crown of Castile.[13] He did it again just before dying in 1492 at the hands of Aguilar de Nerha, imploring the Father to "bring [Aguilar] enlightenment" to see the error of the Assassins' ways.[14] Unlike most later Templars who would invoke the Father to simply guide them without stating a direction, Ojeda was unique in his devotion to the Templar cause and specifically entreated the Father each time "to guide [the Spanish Templars] to victory". Knowledge of the Father was not restricted to Western Europe, as it eventually made its way to Asia, specifically to 16-century China during the Ming dynasty. In 1526, the Jiajing Emperor's Templar court eunuchs known as the Eight Tigers captured Shao Jun,[15] one of the last members of the Chinese Assassins following a purge enacted on the pretense of removing the Emperor's political opponents.[16] After unsuccessfully questioning her in the Maijishan Grottoes on the nature of the mysterious box found among her effects,[15] the Tiger Gao Feng retired briefly to meet with fellow Tiger Qiu Ju. Ju granted Feng permission to torture the information out before stating that he would depart for Beijing, to which Feng called on the Father of Understanding to guide the Tigers in their mission.[17] The phrase was used again that year by the Tiger Yu Dayong.[18] Having since escaped her cell and reunited with her Mentor Wang Yangming,[19] Jun infiltrated the port city of Macau to assassinate Dayong, who had made a fortune selling political and Templar opponents into slavery under the Portuguese. After cornering Dayong on his fortress balcony, Jun stabbed him in the liver with her jian before leaving him to bleed to death. Dayong survived long enough to warn a visiting Qiu Ju of Shao Jun's presence, before uttering the traditional blessing as his final words and expiring from his wound.[18] With the Europeans' discovery of the Americas and Caribbean in the Age of Discovery, the Father of Understanding's name was carried over the Atlantic Ocean. In 1715, the phrase was used briefly by Laureano de Torres y Ayala, Grand Master of the West Indies Templars, during his first meeting with the pirate Edward Kenway, who was impersonating the late Assassin turncoat Duncan Walpole.[20] Before and during the American Revolutionary War, the phrase was used three times by Haytham Kenway; first, during the induction of Charles Lee to the Colonial Templars in 1755,[21] again, when inducting Shay Cormac to the Order in 1757,[22] and lastly in 1778, as a password to enter the Smith and Company Brewery with his son, Connor.[23] Shay himself would later use the phrase in December 1776 after assassinating the French Assassin Charles Dorian in the Palace of Versailles and reclaiming the lost Precursor box which he knew held a map of more Isu Temples. As he exited the building, Shay quietly repeated the words spoken to him at his induction into the Order, reaffirming his loyalty to the Templars, before invoking the Father of Understanding to guide humanity.[24] The phrase also had some use before and during the French Revolution. In May 1789, the French Templar Chrétien Lafrenière sent a private missive to Grand Master François de la Serre,[25] warning him of a plot against de la Serre's life before closing the message with the traditional line.[26] However, François never received the letter and it remained where Arno Dorian had left it unopened under his office door[25] until two months later in July, by which time had been François murdered as Lafrenière feared and the Revolution was sweeping through Paris.[26] Lafrenière was not the only prominent French Templar to call on the Father, either, as the Sage and new Grand Master François-Thomas Germain twice mentioned the Father of Understanding in his life: the first time, when concluding a meeting with Aloys la Touche at the Hôtel de Beauvais,[27] and again upon his death in the Temple, when he suggested to Arno that the Father of Understanding had apparently wished for both men to meet and discuss Germain's life while reviewing his memories.[28] At some point during the Revolution, Arno investigated the French Templars' affiliation with the Cult of Baphomet. Arno required a password to gain entrance into the cult's lair, and was informed by a cult recruiter that the password was "The Father of Understanding", confirming his suspicions.[29] The use of the blessing continued, though much more infrequently, into the modern era. In 1868, James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British Templar and a Tory in the House of Commons, wrote to Grand Master Crawford Starrick, informing him that the death of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli would indefinitely stall the House passing the Corrupt Practices Act. He added that William Gladstone would be far more pliable to puppeteering as Prime Minister, before signing the letter in closing with the traditional blessing.[30] Over a century later in September 2012, Abstergo Industries' CEO Alan Rikkin emailed Warren Vidic regarding historical events or artifacts to investigate further and placed the phrase at the end of his message.[31] In 2014, the Master Templar Juhani Otso Berg voiced a belief that the Father of Understanding had fatefully guided the research analyst pejoratively known as "Numbskull" to Abstergo Entertainment in order to relive Shay Cormac's memories and "prove" Berg's theory that in spite of, Assassins truly wanted order instead of the freedom their Creed claimed to promise to its adherents.[32] In 2019, the Templar doctor Kaori Kagami called upon the Father of Understanding while in her Abstergo Industries lab in Yokohama, Japan. After convincing her patient Kō Risa that her Animus sessions reliving the genetic memories of her ancestor Shao Jun were to help curb her aggressive tendencies, Kagami ended their appointment and asked Risa to consider continuing the treatment. Finally alone as Risa began walking home, Kagami called an associate and informed them that she had found "the treasure", before ending the call by appealing to the Father of Understanding to guide her sessions with Risa.

"Give me a break. People don't want freedom. They want boundaries, rules! Protection... From invaders and from themselves. People want a leader who will give them both the support and the constraints to keep chaos at bay..."

Favorite line from Haytham:
"We did not kill your people! We did not serve the Crown! We worked to see this land united and at peace!"
The truly most sincere and compassionate Templar was definitely Colonel Monro, however.

Little wonder that since all mankind was built to SERVE!

freedom that the assassin seeks means human has huge free will to enjoy the world with fun and enjoyment but at the price of there will be more conflict along the way between people's point of view.
the order that the templar seek will achieve more peace and stability at the price of human's free will become very limited.

Yeah, I'm so disapointed of how Vidic dies. Torres is a great Templar yes. All AC4 templars are goos actually because they're right : pirates are evil.
(Directly from the Assassin's Creed Wikia)
It is easy (and common among Assassins) to mistake the Templar pursuit for control as a pursuit for power.
One time my class and I were receiving awards in academics (I got one for AP World History) and for it I got a business suit like the Templar Agents in that scene at the end, so I went to my sister (Who acts like a little philosopher when she plays Assassin's Creed) and said, "May the Father of Understanding Guide us." Before Assassin’s Creed turned into a social justice platform, the Assassins and Templar orders both served as the extremes of both aspirations for Man Kind.

Isn't That monroe's point of view? (assassin's creed last descandants)
"Besides, the templars don't wanna "enslave" the people and are in fact against it. They just use deception and manipulate corruption for the greater good."
I never was one for the "noble lies" approach.
The Templars know this full well: "There is no single path through life that's right and fair and does no harm." (at 1:51)
So why insist on making people believe that there is one?

You can have all the power in the world, but without a right heart, you will never be satisfied or at peace.
you'll never have peace because humans are weak. But thanks to the Apple the Templars can change that.
I'm with Jack on this one. A life without freedom is not a life worth having.
That'll be true if I ask to a slave. but , I'm not saying about being prisoners. if the purpose of live is to be happy then people would gladly live the illusion to be happy : cf Matrix and Cypher's betrayal
The irony is if you think anyone in the states are actually free, you'd just a brainwashed as they want
exactly, the true power is to know what controls us and to live with it, that's why people love conspiracy theories so much, they like to feel that there is an Evil mastermind behind everything, that kind of justify the prison we feel by living in our societies.
That was great! Wonderfully edited and does a really great job of summing up the templar agenda.
The responsibility is too great to bare!"
Only half right, the people very much want power, but they abhor responsibility, obligation, the demands of selfless spirituality.
They do want to be told what to do, but not by individuals, by selfishness, not by selflessness.
Extremely intelligent... thank you lol
That's exactly what Haytham said and he's right!!
And what assassin ain’t wrong in their brotherhood. They kill targets only to find out every time they are 3 steps behind their goal.
It's funny to see how all these silly people just turn to the Templar's side simply because they said they do this and that.
On the 24th day of 2161 Isu Era, Samael, an Isu official tasked with the preparatory work for Project Anthropos as ordered by the High Council, referred to Yaldabaoth as the Father of Understanding alongside Saklas as the Mother of Wisdom and Samael as the Sacred Voice.[6]
As part of the Capitoline Triad, Jupiter was titled the Father of Understanding, in counterpart to Juno as the Mother of Wisdom and Minerva as the Sacred Voice.[7]
Antiquity and early history
The first known use of the title was in 47 BCE, when the Medjay Bayek of Siwa entered Cyrene in order to assassinate the Egyptian Order of the Ancients member Flavius Metellus. As he made his way to the Roman Akropolis, he heard an orator who served the Order of the Ancients proclaim that the Order's rule was fated to happen, before invoking the Father of Understanding to guide humanity.[8]
However, its apparent meaning would not be revealed until three years later on 15th March 44 BCE, when the leader of the Order of the Ancients, Lucius Septimius engaged in a fatal battle with the Hidden One Aya. When Aya questioned whether Julius Caesar was the new king of the Order of the Ancients, Septimius corrected her, insisting that Caesar was the Father of Understanding. However, with Caesar's assassination shortly thereafter in the Theatre of Pompey at the hands of Aya, Brutus, Cassius, and 38 other Roman Senators, the title was not passed on to a successor and eventually fell out of use.[9]
By the time of the 9th century Viking expansion into England, members of the Anglo-Saxon Order of the Ancients revered the trinity of the Father of Understanding, the Mother of Wisdom, and the Sacred Voice. After destroying the Order of the Ancients in England through the unwitting help of the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, King Alfred privately vowed to create a new order in which the Father of Understanding would be revered as an almighty source of goodness, harmony, and order for all mankind.[2]
Influence
Over the next two hundred years, worship of the Father as an entity ceased with the rise of Christianity and the name instead became a symbolic catchphrase among Templars, representing their goal to lead humanity by adopting the role of a concerned "father" instructing a wayward child. However, this did not stop the Templars' continued use of the Father's title among themselves. As early as the Third Crusade, the Levantine Templars would sign his name as a closing in their letters.[10]
Similarly, the Italian Templars during the Renaissance would invoke him when resolving meetings. Notably, the Italian Grand Master and then-Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia twice called upon the Father to bless his fellow Templars: once in 1476 after the assassination of the Duke of Milan Galeazzo Maria Sforza,[11] and again two years later when finalizing the plan to assassinate both Lorenzo de' Medici and his brother Giuliano during Sunday Mass at the Duomo as part of the Pazzi conspiracy to remove the Florentine Medici family from power.[12]
Use of the Father's name expanded even further westward to the Spanish Templars, with Grand Inquisitor Tomás de Torquemada's personal enforcer Ojeda twice calling on the Father during the Reconquista.
Ju granted Feng permission to torture the information out before stating that he would depart for Beijing, to which Feng called on the Father of Understanding to guide the Tigers in their mission.[17]
The phrase was used again that year by the Tiger Yu Dayong.[18] Having since escaped her cell and reunited with her Mentor Wang Yangming,[19] Jun infiltrated the port city of Macau to assassinate Dayong, who had made a fortune selling political and Templar opponents into slavery under the Portuguese. After cornering Dayong on his fortress balcony, Jun stabbed him in the liver with her jian before leaving him to bleed to death. Dayong survived long enough to warn a visiting Qiu Ju of Shao Jun's presence, before uttering the traditional blessing as his final words and expiring from his wound.[18]
With the Europeans' discovery of the Americas and Caribbean in the Age of Discovery, the Father of Understanding's name was carried over the Atlantic Ocean. In 1715, the phrase was used briefly by Laureano de Torres y Ayala, Grand Master of the West Indies Templars, during his first meeting with the pirate Edward Kenway, who was impersonating the late Assassin turncoat Duncan Walpole.[20]
Before and during the American Revolutionary War, the phrase was used three times by Haytham Kenway; first, during the induction of Charles Lee to the Colonial Templars in 1755,[21] again, when inducting Shay Cormac to the Order in 1757,[22] and lastly in 1778, as a password to enter the Smith and Company Brewery with his son, Connor.[23] Shay himself would later use the phrase in December 1776 after assassinating the French Assassin Charles Dorian in the Palace of Versailles and reclaiming the lost Precursor box which he knew held a map of more Isu Temples. As he exited the building, Shay quietly repeated the words spoken to him at his induction into the Order, reaffirming his loyalty to the Templars, before invoking the Father of Understanding to guide humanity.[24]
The phrase also had some use before and during the French Revolution. Arno required a password to gain entrance into the cult's lair, and was informed by a cult recruiter that the password was "The Father of Understanding", confirming his suspicions.[29]
The use of the blessing continued, though much more infrequently, into the modern era. He added that William Gladstone would be far more pliable to puppeteering as Prime Minister, before signing the letter in closing with the traditional blessing.[30]
Over a century later in September 2012, Abstergo Industries' CEO Alan Rikkin emailed Warren Vidic regarding historical events or artifacts to investigate further and placed the phrase at the end of his message.[31] In 2014, the Master Templar Juhani Otso Berg voiced a belief that the Father of Understanding had fatefully guided the research analyst pejoratively known as "Numbskull" to Abstergo Entertainment in order to relive Shay Cormac's memories and "prove" Berg's theory that in spite of, Assassins truly wanted order instead of the freedom their Creed claimed to promise to its adherents.[32]
In 2019, the Templar doctor Kaori Kagami called upon the Father of Understanding while in her Abstergo Industries lab in Yokohama, Japan.
Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember...
Nothing is true.
Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember...
Everything is permitted.
Everything is permitted and therefore anyone who wish to kill others without reason, then people can do whenever they want, right?
These phrase has a deeper meaning
What are you an assassin?
Someone111ify than you dont understand the rules. Stay your blade, off the flesh of an innocent.
@@tubularcandy812 That sounds like a law. I thought the Assassins weren't bound by them.
as a representative of the assassins, i would like to say we have no responsibility over Achilles' ignorance, that was his fault. I hope one day both sides can come to terms, even if it means less eventful video games
We were close to peace in AC Unity. Too bad it didn't come to fruition due to the radicals.
What a video ! An excellent job as always :3 But personally, I don't care if Haytham is a templar, he is so loveable and badass :) ♡
I agree besides he 's a templassassin : father assassin, mentor templar
H
Trés bon trailer ça renforce vraiment le réalisme, les passage réelles. Le conflit assassin templiers n'est pas que une question fictif, c'est aussi une question de font
The Templars are right. What they are working towards, ends all corruption.
THIS WAS SO BAD ASS. It is making me feel like Templars are the good guys.
that's the point
They are.
It made you feel like they were the good guys. That's the point. Its not real. The video is just exceptionally well done.
The templars are objectively the good guys.
both the sides have the same goal, it's the path that separates them. No one is evil
3:43 spine chilling words
Do you swear to uphold the principles of our order and all that witch we stand, and to never share our secrets our divulge the true nature of our work, and you will from now until death whatever the cost, you are now a templar harbinger of a new world, May The Father of Understanding Guide Us.
Vittoria agli Assassini! Death to the Templars!

Nothing is true, Everything is permitted. Freedom! It's our ability to choose, no matter how we exercise that, makes us human.
Assassins FTW !!
We work in the dark to serve the light
Nothing is true, everything is permitted
Hell yeah! ✊
Its a very good vidéo ! This video show the New World Order of the Knights Templars !
For all those who are saying that the Templars are better because they want order and peace,by controlling the minds of people and basically taking all their freedom, just think about living your life controlled by another human.Honestly, that's not a life worth living from my perspective. That's why I will always choose the Assassins
Très beau montage merci à vous
Very well put together!!!!
"May the Father of Understanding guide you"
"All we need is the world to be as it is." But, with the greater cost of the loss of millions, even billions of innocent lives?
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.
Merci AC Univers et Magemo pour ce super montage sur les templiers :)!!!
One thing no one can excuse from the Templars is that in their history they take control through force and will do anything and sacrifice anything to make what they want happen
This is why I favor the Assassins
May the father of understanding guide us ➕
Even Al Mualim had good points!
Al Mualim wasn't a templar
@@wildman7220 He actually was, you'd know this if you played the first game. But I think he used to be a Templar and then had his own agendas when he was with the Assassins...
@@ElohimTheKing I did 100% of AC 1. He wasn't a templar. Otto did explain this in Rogue.
Thumbs up for Templars
The ironic part is that you have the assassin's symbol instead of the holy knight's XD
Stefan Ayache naaaah! Assassins
Assassin's unite
We are assassins
NOTHING IS TRUE EVERY THING IS PERMITTED
* gives you a major thumbs up *
It's times like these when you truly don't really know which side is more right
I side with the Creed....always! ✊
We own all of you....
Do you think we're ever get a game showing the Templar's in a better light or even playing as one Haythan was cool but then was made the villain

My brother's and sisters go spread the word of the Templars for an era of peace and the father of understanding guide them
I came here back after Amunet caused a disaster.
May the Father of Understanding guide us.
what do you mean? i stopped playing after assasins creed 4 but am still interested
@@TenkabitoShien Amunet killed Julius Caesar, a Templat in AC Origins. Reason? To prevent the fall of the Republic and to preserve Egypt independence. The result? Another Templar, Julius son, Augustus rise to power, turned the Republic into an Empire and fully annexed Egypt.
So yeah, Amunet killed a Templar, only to be replaced by a far more powerful Templar.
We work in the light to serve the darkness.
We are Templars.
Nonsense this is.
It’s order and control vs freedom and chaos
Every templar can spread his lies from a gold throne but in the end that throne will be covered in his blood. #CreedIsLife
Phantom Assassin Four Great Contradictions Assassin's Creed:
We aim to clarify all danger of blind faith, but we practice it.
We aim to educate people, but demand the subordination and master the rules.
We strive to keep the peace, but our method - Kill.
We act in the darkness for the light.

dzhigadriga96 Though seemingly hypocritical, the ironies did not undermine the Assassins' cause. Rather, they demonstrated the way in which they embraced contradiction, "that one may be two things - opposite in every way - simultaneously.
