Hi Phil, just subscribed to your awsome channel, have been reading your fishing world stories since th mid 80s ,really love it,,,, awsome fishing mate !!!! always an inspiration, would love some Mulloway live bait sessions if you have ,,,, Cheers Mate
This is what I like to see, tuna fishing from the rock. I thought only young guy would do something like this, but man you are …unbelievable. Well good job and long live king! 😂
G'day Phil, l don't think you teach him but my young bloke at Year 9 BDC told me that you had a RUclips Channel so l had to check it out. Good stuff....being a Sawtellian, it was great to see what can be caught off our headlands......good stuff mate. I've subbed 👍😁🇦🇺
Too funny Shane, I watched all 50 odd vids of your house Reno last year in syd before we moved up, and did a drive by on our one trip to sawtell at Christmas , I’ve owner built 2 houses and I’m currently have whole side of house open and pool 90% built but no pump yet , haven’t fished in 3 months but will hit it once this Reno is done , love to catch up , haven’t used any of your dad jokes in class yet still have enough of my own to cycle through. Cheers Phil a
I randomly found this video after looking up fishing in nsw, and was like this looks like the beach I go to and realised I went fishing there a couple days ago and caught a 50cm tailor. I also saw a bunch of long tail tuna and can’t wait to get back out there this weekend. But the tuna never got close enough but we had one chance to get bonito but missed it. I’m definitely watch your videos more often!!!
Cheers Mick , was hoping to reconnect with my old crews, after a break from the fishing media I’ve been slightly underwhelmed by a lot of what I see - cheers Phil a
Wow Phil, yr vids amazing, and addictive. I can’t catch Bream, sort of catch Flatties, and can catch Tailor when they’re on. Last several weeks, have, on Mid North Coast off a Breakwall I’ve been targeting these Longies. I’ve seen them caught there, two landed in front of my eyes, last couple weeks. I haven’t had a sniff. Reckon I’d get spooled on my first attempt. However just seeing these extraordinary fish landed there over these weeks enough! Both were around the 12-15kg and under no illusions that these fishermen were making it look easy coz they’ve done this for years. A joy to watch you gun land based game fishermen go about yr business. Go Phil!😮
@@michaeldeo4707 yeh Michael I’m back after 15 yrs in Sydney enjoying the serenity and fishing , my cast arm is sore my landcruiser smells of fish but that’s good right 👍
awesome vid Phil, was a pleasure meeting you the other day , hope to see you on the stones sometime soon mate as its looking friendlier there than takin the yak out while these southerlies are blowin lol all the best & lookin forward to the next vid
G'day Phil, love the videos, watching this after getting smoked by a tuna whilst chasing tailor, didnt stand a chance haha! Do you have a vid where you go through the gear you use?
Sorry mate, just seen further down you answered a few people about rods and line 👍 How much line do you have roughly. I had around 200m of 30lb but didnt last long
Scott I’ve only got 300 of 50lb braid but I fish real heavy drag and 80lb leader the last fish have a good account but I stopped it with about 120m left on the spool , with 30lb braid you could go close to a spool job if you hook up at the front end of a long cast , 40lb braid is a good choice and popular
Dave I think of Kimie most trips miss you guys, my son Kurt got a big permit on the cast from east pt the other day , I’ll be up in oct for a fish with you - Phil
@@topendgold9284 same-LBG bonds never break- watched Marlin Off the Rocks for the first time in a decade the other day, we both walked into Diamond together, you had your birdman T-shirt on- what a time capsule for the future we've left.
Hahahahaha, wish I still had that shirt, it was an original birdman stuka shirt stolen off my clothes line.I remember most of that day actually. The old LBG bonds are powerful, same as ex service bonds. I know, I have both.
I’m 2 m tall and 120 kg and watch my arms taking the hit I’m on serious drag on 50plus braid and I’ve only got 300m to play with on the 4500h salty so any fish that goes that hard for that long is big
Not really but enjoying using them now although things have gone quiet in the last week or so , dropped a couple of mackerel last week but nothing around atm
Well done, Phil! Grew up reading your articles and used to read every line of them and map the info for future exploits. Do you still tangle with big pigs? Love my pigs and learned a few tips from your writings on the subject.
@@philatkinson-hw1qe I remember one your articles where you had found a spot with pigs up to 6 kg - have caught some good pigs and June 2019 saw me lose a 6 kg model in the final stage of a very long drawn out battle on 10 kg mono (undergunned that day big time). Still chasing that holy grail in pig circles!
