Aren’t they absolutely magical?! This has always been an important song to me. I used to sing the with my grandmother. I just wish I could’ve shared their version with her. I think about her often when I listen to their music, especially Christmas (or Christian) music.
I absolutely wish I would have discovered them before my Grandparents passed away in 2012 & 2013... 🥹 My Granddaddy pastored the same little country Baptist Church for 49 years with my Grandmother faithfully by his side ❤️
Great reaction! Yes, Kevin can sing! He has a lovely tenor voice with a great and very high falsetto. he wasn't a singer when he joined the group, he was simply their beatboxer, but Avi and Mitch trained him and now he fills in as a backing singer whenever he's not actually beatboxing. Kevin also plays the cello, sax and piano/keyboard and can beatbox while playing the cello. There's a few songs that PTX has done that include Kevin playing the cello and beatboxing: Over The River, Say Something, Shallow, Papaoutai, Thank You, Kiss From A Rose, Radioactive. You should check one or two...or more..of those out.
Very interesting to read! Where the heck is Mitch? He needs to teach me how to sing too😢. Thanks a lot for your comment and compliment! I’ll be looking into your recommendations, thanks again😊.
Yes- it’s a masterpiece and my favorite version by far!! Mitch is my favorite as well, and I love hearing his lower register- so gorgeous and powerful. This is a spiritual experience every single time I hear it. I think the angels in heaven were taking notes…😊.
TX Franklyn. Here everyone of them shows their vocal abilities. One thing that amazes me is the key changes at the end of Mitch's solo. That is the short guy with the black hair that usually sings in a high tenor voice. All of them are spectacular. Appreciate you. Greetings from South Africa
The use of a cappella adds a unique and powerful dimension to this classic hymn, making it both fresh and timeless. It's a moving performance that highlights the group's skill in transforming well-known songs into something truly special.
This was my first song from Pentatonix. The song is a world wide favorite/ All of them show how it should be sung. Keep on reacting and continue to be astonished by them. great reactio. Thanks for listening to the entire song. before commenting.
The first time I heard their rendition of this song I cried also. I am one of the few who has never liked the song Amazing Grace. I always found it too dreary. Their version brings hope and even a celebratory mood to the song which is perfect especially when singing about the grace of God. I enjoyed your reaction.
This came out on their Christmas album in 2020, Covid Christmas before vaccines were available and the world was in a rough place. This was a needed song that year. Listening to Kevin at the end the first time just broke me down. The rest of the album is beautiful and emotional.
I just subbed for more PTX reactions. I never get tired of their songs. Some of them I’ve listened to hundreds of times Thank you for your emotional reaction.
I love this group. Definitely unique & magical. Not taking anything at all away from this wonderful version of this song, but perhaps you’d like to check our Dan Vasc’s version. Even if you don’t post it I think you’d definitely be very impressed by it.
Top Three Acapella groups are VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfACapella cover everything from Metallica to Disney. Home Free some country and a little bit of everything else and lastly Pentatonix.
This version was written/arranged by Chris Tomlin, a Christian artist, for the excellent movie of the same name, Amazing Grace. It is about Englishman William Wilberforce’s (Ioan Gruffud) political efforts to abolish the slave trade in the UK in the 1700’s and includes the story of John Newton who wrote Amazing Grace, as he himself was a slaver but God got a hold of him and he became a Christian. I think the movie is 2006 and is well worth the watch. Also stars a very young Benedict Cumberbatch as the Prime Minister 🥰🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺
Subbed for more PTX reactions.
Thanks - I appreciate

Music is sustenance, just as nourishing.
This was very nourishing❤
Je suis agnostique ,lorsque que j'étais pratiquant j'aimais chantonner cette musique pour m'aider à passer les difficultés de la vie ❤
It’s a beautiful song and these guys gave more life to it😊.
It is a spiritual experience, and it can be overwhelming.
You’re so right!

Mitch had feathers on the back of his white jacket, because he sings like an angel.
That guy is something else

Unfortunately the beautiful church that this was done in has been severely damaged by storms and mudslides. It may not be possible to restore it.
