It depends on your needs. I have been driving Ev6 awd gt-line for 1.5 years. Sportiness of ev6 is an important factor for me. However, ev3 would be a perfect daily driver for my wife: fwd and mediocre power wouldn't bother her.
I wish you could do the same for Niro EV and EV3. This comparison is okay but doesn't give that much idea for the ones awaiting EV3. Niro is a perfect match for EV3 I think, in terms of overall specifications.
In countries where pricing for the EV3 has already been published, deliveries will begin towards the end of this year. Also, unless I missed something, the PE/facelift of the EV6 hasn't been unveiled anywhere in Europe yet.
@@Dqtube the EV3 seems promising. If the EV6 has been unveiled, then don't you think the Kia wouldn't release the PE EV6 in Europe because alot more would prefer purchasing the EV6 over the EV3
RWD and 800V, EV6 is a no brainer for me. I already have EV6, along with first gen Kona 64 kWh. I reckon the 204 hp Kona is quicker off the line than the EV6. It's also about 2 kWh/100km more efficient. However, all my long traveling is done with my EV6. My Kona only does local commute.
Thank you for this comparison. I'd say the EV3 will be better for taxis and Uber, as it's better suited to European streets than the Ioniq 5 or EV6. Thanks to the large battery, it can be used almost non-stop in city traffic as it can charge up enough range during an average snack break.
We have the EV6, and that middle part is not comfortable for long legs as my legs press against it. I have the same problem with our 2021 Nissan Leaf. So, for me, the EV3 looks like a winner not having that to hit my leg on!

My father has just ordered a new EV6 GT-Line S AWD with the Heat Pump and finished in Wolf Grey. It should be here in December, just before Christmas. It certainly has improved over the pre facelifted model and has great features over my Ioniq 6, as a natural evolution in feature set. Keep up the great content. Thanks for sharing. I am well aware of the vehicle dynamics of a FWD & RWD. Hyundai Motor Group does and can make a FWD car fun, there's a whole brand of it, the Hyundai N. You did give me perfectly understandable and viable reason for a no on FWD EV, it sure is more "sensitive" and difficult to drive compared to a RWD of a same/similar performance. We are hoping to buy a small EV in the next year or two. Right now the new Kona looks to be the best available choice, but we'll strongly consider the EV3 if it comes to Canada by then.
For me, it's the EV3. I'm older so I don't care so much about warp speed. I need something that's easy to drive in the city, has good range, and is efficient on my monthly 250 mile road trips. I'm looking forward to the extended drive video.

I don't think I'd be able to "say" it during my reviews since I am not used to it like you are not used to km/kWh. I'll try to include it in the editing!
Thank you for this great comparison. I prefer the compact proportions and boxy styling of EV3 which improves interior space and practicality. I'm hoping the EV3 is sold in Canada, as most EVs here are too large, heavy, expensive and inefficient for my needs. It's interesting that EV3 will be FWD, I think RWD might be a better choice, as the updated RWD Polestar is apparently a much better drive.
@@CarSceneKorea Good point, however the driving dynamics would likely be improved with RWD on the single motor version, and single motor EVs are typically more efficient and work well in many regions with good winter tires, or even all weather tires to avoid switching between seasons.
Ordered the EV6 Plus Edition last week, I have been driving the e-Niro for the last 3,5 years and also had holidays to France & Italy where i was really disappointed with the time it took to charge the car. That and the battery capacity was the main reason i also wouldn’t buy the EV3
I'm glad that Hyundai/Kia offers choices to their customers. Thanks for the video! I prefer the EV3 because it reminds me of my previous Kia Soul EV that I miss a lot.
@@CarSceneKorea the pandemic destroyed my finances 😞 however I could've probably kept the car had I been smarter. Now I'm doing better and will not make the same mistake! I can't wait to go back electric!
@@Gerry090 I didn't see that coming, my apologies😭Soul EV was great back then, however, the evolution of EVs are just out of this world and you have a ton of EVs to choose from. The fun awaits!
Great comments and nice comparison. This is what I expected with the wheelbase and car weight being determining factors in ride. FWIW, I am not a fan of the hvac/system controls on our EV6. We are constantly, accidentally hitting the Auto control when adjusting the radio volume. (Yes, I know there are other ways to control it, but we are veteran knob-turners.) The first generation Chevrolet Volt had haptic capacitance touch controls and we did not like them there either. Chevrolet dropped this control setup in the second generation Volt and it was a much appreciated improvement. In this case the Ioniq5 and the EV3 have the preferable design. It's not all about looks. Ergonomics and real world use are important. What about the Navigation system? So far our experience with the 2024 EV6 Nav is poor. Updating has been a nightmare and the system at times has been seriously inaccurate. Has this change in the EV6 facelift or in the EV3?
Glad my commentary was helpful and relatable! I use CarPlay or AA mostly and run the factory navi on the background to utilize the suspension features associated with it - if the car is equipped with such. There is a room for improvement with the OEM navigation indeed.
@@CarSceneKorea It would be good to add the impressions of the lousy nav system in the reviews. Maybe by pointing out the pros and cons, Hyundai/Kia will improve these weaknesses.
The nav system works great in Korea tbh, but it seems that's not the case for the whole world. When comparing it to other brands, HMG navis are quite nice although it may be limited to Korea only.
If you could refer to each car's review, that'd be the different. There isn't much tbh, both an upgrade from their predecessor, IONIQ 5 focusing more of Hyundai's mid-class family EV SUV, while EV6 keeping that "sportiness" the Kia brand always pursues.
I love EV3 but I hate the middle table it's looks like a very bad ideia. I'm waiting for a review on the EV5. Do you know where you gonna have a chance on that model? Keep your great work!!
I have driven the car for over 1,000 km but I am really behind my schedule editing the video. Working on it as soon as possible. And it will not be boring. I promise you that.
When it comes to size, the EV5 sounds good for me. But what bothers me is that the EV6 and the EV3 are getting facelifts, but the EV5 will stay in its older design. If I get a new car which is a huge investment, I want it new. So I might go for the EV6 instead. Or will the EV5 get an update soon?
@@CarSceneKorea Thank you for your response. No I'm talking about the EV5. Like the KIA logo is still central on the steering wheel, while the new facelift for the EV3 and EV6 have the logo smaller and more upper right. There's a big chance I'm just making faulty assumptions and that I'm misinformed. But when I saw that, I figured that they didn't implement the new facelift stuff from the EV3 and EV6 in the EV5.
@@nxtlvlnlkr5312 The current EV5 is not a global model, but is primarily intended for China (as cheap as possible to have a chance against local brands) and will be introduced in a few other markets later. It doesn't have the same "genes" as other models in the EVx line.
So, are you saying the updated EV6 doesn't brake until zero, when using the auto mode? I thought the sales guy told me it could do that... Which is important, because i Really liked that on the EV3
@@CarSceneKorea unfortunately they’ve decided not bring it to the Australian market, as apparently we don’t buy small SUV’s. I find whoever did that epic piece of research, to be terribly out of touch.
I'm really curious about the unannounced (but spied) EV4 hatchback for Europe. If it brings the 81.4 kWh battery of the EV3 and dual motor it will be mega! 👌
A few EV9 owners in Korea have clocked 800km on the tachometer already. Come facelift, that won't be difficult at all. Alguns donos de EV9 na Coreia já marcaram 800 km no tacômetro. Quando chegar a hora do facelift, isso não será difícil.
If KIA catches up on efficiency, connectivity and streaming services I believe Tesla will be in big trouble soon as there will be not so much difference anymore. Not to forget that others offer 360° cam,HUD and other goodies Teslas don't even have. I can't wait for a real life efficiency test of this thing! If I watch RUclips on a 12.3 inch screen or a 15 inch screen is not that big of a difference in a car. I don't care about acceleration, as roughly 8 seconds 0-60 is plenty for me. It's only since electric cars have entered the scene we suddenly think that's "slow"! Before that with ICE's we would have considered that kind of acceleration as quite decent! We are more or less lieing to ouourselves!
Can we stop calling the ev6 monstrosity a face-lift? Maybe botched cosmetic surgery is a better fit. It looked better before. They turned a supercar into a bland sedan.
@CarSceneKorea no beautiful crazy body lines, no sale. That is what makes the current models so eye popping and gets the constant "what car is that" Glad I have the 2023. I hope they decide to go back to the supercar look.

For me, it's the EV3. I'm older so I don't care so much about warp speed. I need something that's easy to drive in the city, has good range, and is efficient on my monthly 250 mile road trips. I'm looking forward to the extended drive video.
I’m sorry it took forever. It is finally uploaded.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks! I enjoyed your video. I'm looking forward to putting one of these in my driveway.
A rear-wheel drive EV3 would be a fun, almost hot-hatch car.
At least we will see the EV3 GT 😎
@@CarSceneKoreawill that have dual motors?
Nothing confirmed, but it better be 🤣
@@CarSceneKorea agreed, and hopefully with the availability to disconnect the front motor for some serious drifting 😊
Console on the EV6 is better than the one on the EV3
For me, full consoles are best.
Hey DK...love your videos but no idea why RUclips is turning on closed captions every single time in your videos,. I fully understand you no issue, not like you are talking Korean but English. The other thing every time an ad comes on the closed captions reset and re-enable themselves.
It might have to do with all the closed captions I have for my videos 🧐 I'll take a look.
Good job!! I an from Hong Kong. Any ideas on when the EV3 (rhd) will be available in HK? And the estimated selling price, please.
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Not sure if Kia proposed the car being in Hong Kong though. Check with the local dealership.
@@CarSceneKorea hey, what is the selling price of EV3 in Korea then?
Replied you on the other comment :)
Starting price:
The base model (Standard) starts at 42.08 million KRW (approximately $30,700-$31,000)
Trim levels and pricing:
Standard model:
• Air: 42.08 million KRW ($30,802)
• Earth: 45.71 million KRW ($33,459)
• GT Line: 46.70 million KRW ($34,184)
Long Range model:
• Air: 46.50 million KRW ($34,038)
• Earth: 50.13 million KRW ($36,695)
• GT Line: 51.08 million KRW ($37,390)
Prices after incentives:
After tax benefits, the starting price is expected to be around 39.95 million KRW ($29,243) for the Standard model
With government and local subsidies, prices could range from:
• 30 to 35 million KRW ($21,960 to $25,620) for the Standard model
• 35 to 40 million KRW ($25,620 to $29,280) for the Long Range model
Please, say also how many kWh/100km. It's used in Europe and more understandable.
That probably was to get that every centimeter of the trunk count. Is most likely that we will see the all-wheel-drive version with the GT version.
@@CarSceneKorea Good point, however the driving dynamics would likely be improved with RWD on the single motor version, and single motor EVs are typically more efficient and work well in many regions with good winter tires, or even all weather tires to avoid switching between seasons.
I can't wait for the EV7 which is hopefully a smaller version of EV9
Ordered the EV6 Plus Edition last week, I have been driving the e-Niro for the last 3,5 years and also had holidays to France & Italy where i was really disappointed with the time it took to charge the car. That and the battery capacity was the main reason i also wouldn’t buy the EV3
I'm glad that Hyundai/Kia offers choices to their customers. Thanks for the video! I prefer the EV3 because it reminds me of my previous Kia Soul EV that I miss a lot.
Which car did you switch over to from Soul EV?
@@CarSceneKorea I now have a Kona 2019 gas version.
I think it's one of very rare cases where people switch over from an EV back to ICE. Care to tell me more? Personally am really curious!
EVs don't work well for conventional use in my area, BUT i like what Hyundai/Kia is doing with them.
Geeia, here we say Key-Yah, lol. Yes, the full GT model will have AWD in the USA.
Comparison between Ioniq 5 PE vs EV 6 facelift?
If you could refer to each car's review, that'd be the different. There isn't much tbh, both an upgrade from their predecessor, IONIQ 5 focusing more of Hyundai's mid-class family EV SUV, while EV6 keeping that "sportiness" the Kia brand always pursues.
I love EV3 but I hate the middle table it's looks like a very bad ideia. I'm waiting for a review on the EV5. Do you know where you gonna have a chance on that model? Keep your great work!!
The base - or lower trims - will have a regular arm rest. Korea does not get EV5 just yet, I will be reviewing the car asap!
Still no sign of the longer EV3 usage, everyone is posting the small exactly same boring review videos without the most interesting tech information
Perhaps you are confusing the EV5 to something else? That car is also kinda brand new.
Sounds like you were referring to IONIQ 5 😮
@@Dqtube I see, that explains it, thank you!
So, are you saying the updated EV6 doesn't brake until zero, when using the auto mode?
I thought the sales guy told me it could do that... Which is important, because i Really liked that on the EV3
Nope, EV3 is the only car from Hyundai Motor Group that has the feature until now.
Can’t wait for an EV2, as that’s the size I need. Hopefully Kia make it before other models come out to tempt me 😜
Coming!
@@CarSceneKorea unfortunately they’ve decided not bring it to the Australian market, as apparently we don’t buy small SUV’s. I find whoever did that epic piece of research, to be terribly out of touch.
I'm going to visit Korea just to thank the people that built my Ev6. I'm serious best car I've ever owned.
I couldn’t agree more😎
I'm really curious about the unannounced (but spied) EV4 hatchback for Europe. If it brings the 81.4 kWh battery of the EV3 and dual motor it will be mega! 👌
I will cover it asap!

Thank you!
fuck that ev3 table thing
Base model does not get it😂
Compro ev9 se tiver maior autonomia....500klms e pouco....800 klms o ideal
Thanks for sharing great insight of yours!
0-100 kph in roughly 8 seconds is plenty powerful!
Couldn’t complain being a city driver :)
سلام میشه ترجمه فارسی بزارید لطفا❤
Coming soon!
به زودی!
No rear wiper,no thanks.
That's basically you are saying "I have a poor driving skill".
IONIQ 5 really needed one, not so sure about the EV6 though. EV3 has one, very well hidden.
Wow
The winner is Ionic 5 :)
Can we stop calling the ev6 monstrosity a face-lift? Maybe botched cosmetic surgery is a better fit. It looked better before. They turned a supercar into a bland sedan.
Would you believe me if the car looks much better in person? 🤔
@CarSceneKorea no beautiful crazy body lines, no sale. That is what makes the current models so eye popping and gets the constant "what car is that" Glad I have the 2023. I hope they decide to go back to the supercar look.
Well, hope you'd give it a chance and see one in person - is all I've got to say :)
🤢🤮 no Tesla .... never!
