      " How could anyone go wrong" -------Allow me to enlighten you.
      2003 with 18K miles means this:
      The car was simply not driven which means all the mechanical moving parts (engine, trans, and forty more) have been in a coma.
      Like a human, the parts designed to move have to routinely move on a consistent basis or they deteriorate - they don't awake and perform as new.
      All the seals and gaskets have dried out because the car was not driven allowing proper lubrication of them.
      How long has been gasoline been allowed to remain this car = long term is very bad = it will eventually crystalize and gum up everything.
      It would be a better find if the car had 100K miles + it's a Buick which was a very well built car.

    Bought a 2002 Century last year with only 45k original miles on it for $6,000 - these cars and the 3100 V6 engines are awesome. They aren't flashy and "cool" but they're bulletproof and reliable! I just swapped the original 21 year old spark plugs this weekend and it was a great feeling keeping this old car alive and running.

    Oh em gee!!! This car is a GARNET GEM!! I was in search of a vehicle last year 2022. I thought I wanted a white 2020 Nissan Altima but I preferred an "older" person's car, WELL KEPT with LOW MILES & PERFECT PRICE. I found what I needed & prayed for in December 2022... she is an immaculate 2003 Buick Century Custom whom I call my "SILVER BELLE" & she had 20,607 miles when I drove off the lot!! She drives amazing & is so comfortable. She is everything I asked for & MORE!! The person who buys this car right here is going to be blessed 🙌 ...

    I saw an ‘05 last year at a Buick dealership In Michigan with under 3K miles the same color with chrome wheels. I saw it online Friday evening and when I called Monday morning they had sold it! The salesman I spoke to said they sold it for $8,900. I was soo mad! I found an ‘04 Limited a few months later here in Indiana with 26K for even less $$ and it is completely rust free which is impressive for Indiana and I will keep it that way as I won’t drive it in the winter months. It is the perfect second car for a traditional car lover. It rides almost as well as my Park Avenues I had years ago, actually better than the one that had the stiffer Gran Touring suspension.

      I have one, looks like new, with 160K miles; purchased it 15 yrs. ago with 61k miles.
      Always garaged, washed every week, waxed every six months, maintained to perfection = you take care of it, it will take care of you.
      The cost, new, for the 2003 Century was ~$23K.
      Literally one of the best cars I've owned in regards to comfort, reliability and ease of maintenance w/reasonable cost.
      The ONLY problem with this 2003 @ 18K miles is that it was driven less then 1K miles a year.
      NOT driving a car is a bad idea as the seals and gaskets dry out and the moving parts don't get their needed "exercise."

    I remember these cars brand new. This was unofficial official car of Sanford Me in the late 90s early 2000s. I remember a silver 01 custom with a black presidential full canvas top brand new. Restored two. The early ones had chrome molding inserts and heavier moldings with chrome on the body side, emblems on the doors upper windows and decklid. FUN FACT the chief designer of this car was Wayne Kady who designed the 67, 71, 79, and 86 Eldorado, the 80 Seville personally as well others including the 92 Roadmaster sedan and THIS CAR.

    That is a good find! I was watching and said Buick's Toyota Camry, and then you said it right after I said it. I laughed.It is great when you can find cars like this. Century was like LeSabre and Regal was like Park Avenue from that era. I thought the color used to be called neutral. You are telling the truth about cars in this video. This car is almost like new. This generation went back to how things were set up at Buick in the past with the Century/Regal lines on the same platform. That car is quiet, smooth and effortless. Thank you for sharing. As far as gas mileage is concerned, I would think it would get about what my 2004 Grand Prix got - 30 to 32 on the highway, 19-20 around town. I think my overall average for the 5 years I had the GP was around 25 mpg.

    SFI does mean Sequential Fuel Injection, there’s both a cam and crankshaft sensor that lets the computer know when the intake valve is opening, it fires the port injector for that cylinder only at that time. Better economy, emissions, and horsepower. 3100 will run until you don’t want it anymore, then keep going for the next owner.

    6:11 For Information on the Taillight, for the 2003 model GM removed the Century logo from the door (which used to be on the front driver and passenger of the late 1990’s to 2002 model years) and placed it on the rear tail light from 2003 up to the last model.

  • @jamiepelletier8750
    @jamiepelletier8750 Год назад +3

    The lack of tail light badge is due to the early cars having twin badges on the rear quarter panels. I forget which year they made the change to the single badge on the light bar, but if I recall correctly the reason was to save cost.

    • @tyler2610
      @tyler2610 Год назад +2

      2003-2005 had the badge on the tail light. They only had to use one instead of 2 and I think it looked better. The moldings on the ‘97-02 were pretty chunky. They did the same thing with the LeSabre and just removed them on the Park Avenue rear quarter but did add a chrome badge with the name over the license plate in ‘05.

    Sweet century, your comments about the back center lights is that that's a regal tail center light. The exact same bod .but the regals had a small difference in the front end of the car. But parts interchanged with one another. They also had a optional 3.8 engine from the 3.1 97 to its long run till 2005

The Regals have more standard equipment than the Centuries. The Regals are also all equipped with counsel shifters, and have steering wheel controls for the stereo. Although the chrome around the taillights is unique to the Centuries, but you can swap them to a Regal! Mine gave me 8 years of reliable and comfortable driving! She's definitely been a great car. I bought a super low mile '04 Buick Park Avenue, and am giving the Regal to my nephew. He's gonna be the 3rd generation of people in my family to drive it (I bought it from my parents)! The wipers literally fell apart instantly, I couldn't tell if the headlights were on, one tire was 2 sizes bigger than the other 3, the dash warning lights were all on, shocks were toast, breaks were warped, window switches all shot, stereo didn't work at all.
    But it ran perect, shifted smooth, the A/C was great, clean no rust, clean leather interior.

    I'm envious of being rust free. Here in North East, cars instantly become rust buckets after 6 or 7 years. Lol, try doing under car work in the driveway dealing with rust becomes a disabling, insane, frustrating incomplete job but yet, somehow & someway- 7 minute RUclips videos convince me it is possible.

    My wife had a Century Limited in a forest green metallic color (I forget what Buick called it). This was one of the best riding cars we’ve owned. It was so quiet and smooth riding. They just don’t make them like that anymore.

    We bought a 2004 Century new in May of that year. Had it 16 years with 188,000 miles. It always got 30 MPG, no more, no less, which is what the car was rated for. It finally rusted out so badly we had to replace it. Never had any major problems with it. Just routine maintenance. Anyone who buys this will be getting a good car. Hopefully it will continue to be used sparingly to keep it nice. It would be a shame to run it into the ground as you cannot find them anywhere, especially in this condition.

    Hi Anthony Hi Papa Bear, I can’t find anyone who can make good Italian food here in Sarasota. Not that foo foo crap, the food we got when my buddies grandma had us in the basement in her kitchen and I would roll out of there and attempt to walk home. Great Videos Thank You 🙏

    The engine in that thing is one of the best ever made by GM. It was developed by Buick and will last a long ling time. This generation Century was built very well and is very reliable. A high quality car that was consistently rated very high along with Lexus'. Anyone who buys this will be very happy. Not as happy as with a Caddilac Sedan DeVille d'Elegance, but still very happy. A very nice solid car. Deserves a garage btw.

    I just inherited a 2003 Buick Century Custom. 21 year old car with only 48K miles! The last owner, a family member, neglected this fine car the past 3 years, most notably the interior, as it was trashed to the point that it needs complete new carpet, and he was a heavy smoker to boot. So far, I’ve spent about $2,000 just trying to bring back into normal condition. I think it’s worth it because of the low mileage. It will become my daily driver once it’s professionally cleaned, and a couple minor scrapes repaired on the lower passenger door panels.

    Custom and Limited were noted on the tail light Century emblem. Mot of these cars went to conservative older people who didn't want to spring the extra money for a Limited. Limiteds are very hard to find. When we bought our Century in 2004 the dealer had one Limited on the lot, but it was sold before we got there or I would have bought it.
