I saw this in theaters. When Andy pulled Woody out of the box at the end, tears began streaming down my face.
Nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture but won for Best Animated Feature.
It was the third animated movie to be nominated for Best Picture.
I knew when I saw this in my subscription feed that Dillon would be having a great time with Spanish Buzz 😂🕺🏻💃🏻

This should have been the last Toy Story. It's hilarious. The ending is bittersweet. Andy goes off to college and the toys go to a new kid.

tell me about it. the last shot of this was the clouds in the sky & thats how the first one all started. it was the perfect finale. the shorts & tv specials after this were awesome but not a fourth movie. it made no damn sense at all & was totally ooc 4 bonnie 2 just ghost woody over a damn fork all of a sudden after toy story that time 4got. she was all over him in that, toy story of terror & the three shorts. then she just pretends she never found him, leaves him in her closet & doesnt even realize or give a shit that hes gone at the end. she shouldve been devastated like andy in the first movie. nobody would ever play with a stupid fucking fork over a real toy like him. buzz said in 3 whatever happened they were all gonna be 2gether then woody said 4 infinity & beyond & thats the way it shouldve been. i mean 4 gods sake they almost burned alive 2gether in this!

This comment is felt by most people because what they did in toy story 4 to Woody's character was a massacre.
I don't know for some reason all these toy story movies toys to me symbolize parents. Like the sacrifices and decisions these toys make for the sake of a kid somehow relates with the kids.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who relates their toys to other things. My childhood was AWSOME! I don’t feel as old as I am and I still love to play. Glad I got kids. BARBIE was the GOAT for me. However, mine were a bit more adventurous than most. I had BARBIE outdoors most of the time and she was either floating down the Amazon in her dreamboat or digging holes to China ect. Yep, ole Barb was filthy and so was Ken. I got in so much trouble. Lol
i turn 28 on the 22 & have all the guys. woodys my favorite like andy & i got him 8 years ago at toys r us!!! i got him with me right now & a couple days after i bought him i promised him i’ll always love him & take care of him no matter how old i am!!! i didnt care if i was 19!!! but last month when i woke up on the 19 his head came off. i was as devastated as andy when he ripped his arm in the second movie. i got back on but now its all shaky. i guess its just wear & tear but i hope it never comes off ever again. slinks my second favorite cuz im a dog person & he was his best friend b4 buzz. when i play with woody & buzz sometimes i tell them they mightve said goodbye but theyre gonna have each other & all be 2gether 4 infinity & beyond like it shouldve been as long as theyre with me. im soooo damn glad toys r us opened back up in macys but i hope they open their actual stores back up like they were gonna b4 fucking covid. i still love it & toys

He says he was made in the late 1950s, so if we assume the first movie took place around 1995 when it was released and the third and fourth movies take place about 10-11 years later, that would make him about 40 years old in the first two movies, about 50 years old in the later two. The first three Toy Story films center on Woody's relationship with his kid, Andy. But while Andy was born in 1989, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 4 both point out that Woody is a collectible toy from the 1950's. What was Woody's life like for the 40 years before he met Andy? The movies do not explicitly state the years in which they take place, which makes the Toy Story film timeline inexact. However, references within the films can date the first movie as taking place in 1995. This means that Andy, who is turning six in the first film, was born in 1989. Woody and Andy were friends from an early age, so Woody and Andy could have first met when Andy was a baby. When Al tries to buy Woody at the yard sale in Toy Story 2, Andy's mother apologizes and takes Woody back, saying that he is "an old family toy." It's unlikely that Andy would have had a record player in the 1990s, so this would indicate that Woody does have memories of his life before. Some fan theories go deep into Andy's missing father, and hinge on the idea that Woody once belonged to him; because Andy associates Woody with his father, he is all the more attached to the toy.
The difference between his previous owner(s) and Andy is that Woody was Andy's favorite toy, and the connection that they shared was special.

I'm watching this in theaters for the first time also grew up watching it and I kind of still don't like how they make a fourth one because I think kind of ruins how this was supposed to originally end the entire series
I was very happy they made the fourth one because this one existed to close the book between Woody and Andy's relationship, however didn't fix Woody's overbearing fear of being useless from the second film, which in parent terminology, would be something called "Post parental breakdown". The fact that the fourth film fixed that fear is more than enough of a reason to exist.

@@buzzytrombone4353 Toy Story 4 suffers from bad writing and relies on nostalgia tripping its viewers to elicit an emotional response. You can’t tell me otherwise. Definitely despise it, so much injustice is brought to the toy story franchise-I just pretend that movie doesn’t exist.
Most people tore up at the end of the movie, it's a real tear jerker.

When my mom saw this movie, she cried. Becuase at the time, Andy was off to college, and I was just starting my college adventure too. The parallels were too perfectly timed.

Toy Story 4 isn’t real it’s just your imagination.
I wouldn't bother with TS4, it's actually terrible. It's competently made, I mean it's Pixar, but it takes everything the three films built and stomps it out in such an aggressive way that I'm shocked people think it's a proper sendoff. I won't spoil anything but let's just say they ruin quite a few characters, the plot makes no sense, and the message of the film is honestly pretty harmful to kids, I'm not gonna lie. It'd spoil too much if I said it but yeah, TS4, at best a 3/10 for me, probably Pixar's worst. Even worse than Cars 2.
