White executives were on a mission to find the next Eddie Murphy and the only thing they knew about black people was the minimum wage workers at the post office or the hustlers and hookers who would greet them when they stopped by the hood to pick up their dope ruclips.net/video/ABnCC1g5QPY/видео.html

It was a show that showcased alot of what was going on in society at the time. I grew up on that show and people took away from it what they wanted. People werent so easily offended and there seemed to be a moral with every show. The family aspect was the most important aspect "The family" we don't have that anymore. And racism isnt what it use to be.

this made me think of a recent Dallas Austin interview on 85 south show..he talked about pitching the movie drumline and nobody would touch it unless he got jewish producer backing him..and when he got with one, they greenlit the movie...Dallas said when they went over budget they told him to add a white role to the movie...this day in time with most theaters close could be a blessing in disguise for black movie production companies..easier to get movies to the masses with streaming

Hollywood Shuffle is my favorite satire written and directed by Black comedians! There aren't that many satires by Blacks. I remember seeing this when I was a freshman in college. It was definite eye opener! Loved his Robert Townsend comedy series as well! Townsend long ago deserved recognition for his comic genius, his dramas (e.g. The Five Heartbeats) and his direction!

Not much has changed now LMAO.. even worse.. real housewives.. power.. remake of superfly, american gangster.. empire... At least back then there was diverse characters (family Matters, Martin) movies like panther (about the black panthers) crooklyn the inkwell..there was different styles and tones, now it's jus straight stereotype TV and internet all day n night, and proud of it 😂

Power actually diverse as ghost was a successful club owner trying to leave the drug life or power book 2 with method man being a lawyer and black woman getting the spotlight

Is this what Comedy Hype is talking about when talking about when she says there needs to be "more authentic character to tell our stories" because that already exists and it affirms negative black stereotypes.

@@dwaynejpeterkin yea... Roots had a diverse cast and all that too, but I notice ppl get defensive when others talk about they're shows, I always find it funny cuz ppl ain't gettin paid to do it, like for example, I liked dragon ball z as a kid, and if sumone came online and said "dragon ball z sucks ballz!!" It's literally not my job, nor am I gettin paid to defend it, I don't own it, I'm a fan yes, but if the writers saw me walking down the street, they wouldn't really give two shits if I was a fan, they are jus glad they are gettin paid millions of dollars to write on ppr.. Idk, I'm a free thinker is all I meant in my statement
