Honduras is no more dangerous than any part of India. The infamous title of a dangerous country was given by a Mexican NGO, however, Mexico is 10-50 times more dangerous than Honduras. Nowadays, more of the homicides are drug-related and does not affect any tourists. It is unheard of tourists being robbed, mugged or hurt. And it did happen in years back, the crime was always solved rather quickly. If you go outside the two main cities, crime is at a minimal, with the note that rural crime is almost unheard. I was in Honduras in 2018 and 2019 and did not feel unsafe at all.

Actually that statement is statistically false on all levels, Honduras is called dangerous because it's has one of the highest gum crimes and homicide rates per capita populations in the world which is changing for the better only after the new government and President of Honduras took power and started brutal but effective crackdown on gangs. Mexico is safe as long as you stay away from cartel controlled areas and gun crimes are almost unheard of in India because India has very strict gun laws. So your statement doesn't make any logical sense whatsoever. Getting mugged or scammed by a taxi driver is not the same as getting shot by some nutjob you didn't even have anything to do with. Straw man argument.
