I believe that the ballistic computer takes into accout the angle of the rifle automatically but have not tested this theory at a range. However I have shot pigeons at some very steep angles and then taken a flat shot and both pellets hit where I was aiming. So to me that say it is doing the calculation for you and adjusting the POA on the fly.

I like the videos you do, can i ask, is there a reason with so many rats around you do not keep a pellet in the chamber. looks like you aim at the rat then have to load the gun. Again, great videos though chers.
This is because sometimes I need to adjust the power setting on the rifle to shoot inside the sheds. Once I have a pellet loaded into the rifle I can't change this setting without causing possible damage to the internals of the rifle. So I leave the chamber empty until I know what my next shot is going to be.

I am unsure of this rifle myself so could not give you an honest answer. I would suggest doing a RUclips search for reviews on this rifle and see what they say about it. Above all though the main thing is consistent accuracy. As long as the rifle has enough power to penetrate, a headshot should do the trick.
That is really good shooting. But judging by the number of rats running about, did you make a big dent in the population? BTW do the rats really get wise to all their buddies being killed?
I think it will be many visits from now before we see any major drop in rat population. Yes they do notice their buddies lying around but it really does not effect them coming out.
Have any of the property owners been surprised by the number of rats? And did you ever have a rat on you while you were shooting? I really like your videos, keep up the good work.
No I think the owners have a fair idea how many rats they have, which is why I think they like want I do (especially for what I charge per rats). As for having a rat on me? I think it has happened once and yes, not my proudest moment (just ask Bob).
That farm is infested. Serious rat problem. what happens to the bodies once you've finished for the night? Do you or the farmer clean up the carcasses? Also how are the bodies disposed of?
I hate to be asking questions back to back in the comments like this are "collateral" shots a thing in ratting it seems like often times you could possibly take out more than one rat with one shot. Is it more of an ethical choice or is it just something you haven't thought of trying out or even still is it just someone you avoid doing?
I have previously obtained double kill shots when I was using the JSB Jumbo Heavy pellets, but since switching to the lighter JSB Hades that have a fragmenting design. Double kills are not possible as the majority of the pellet disintegrates with in the target animal causing a massive energy dump from the pellet to the animal. This makes for a more humane kill as well as the pellet does not penetrate past the animal in question or if it does has very little to no energy left to cause any damage beyond the target.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter haha...i suppose you gotta do something to pass the time when you have a little lull....keep up the good work mate...can’t wait for the next chapter 👍
Long kiss goodnight !! , Excuse me may I have a few more tins of pellets and a tank refill "but sir you were only here yesterday !!!!! It was like something out of a horror the amount of rats Exercise and fun at the same time , blisters on your trigger finger😂😂😂 Thanks lad 👍👍
Thanks Mate, yes my equipment is and awesome setup but expensive but well worth the cost. Practice is always a must even after years of shooting you need to keep the practice in. Start off with large paper targets and concentrate on getting nice tight groups of five shots, then move on to smaller targets. Don't worry about being quick, be consistent. If you start to rush, your groups will become bigger and therefore less effective. Above all enjoy the sport.
Yeah shooting during the day provides several issues, there are farm workers, Rats are less active during daylight hours and I have a full time job that I need to attend during the day. As for the Jiggling rats, this is the nerves and muscles twitching. It is because they are no longer receiving signal from the brain, so they just go into spasm.
Great video.. Amazing equipment.. Sometimes we need to control certain species Please do keep posting Warm regards and Best wishes The UnknownManCub 👍😎👨🏭
why do i feel like i'm the one doing the shooting? everytime, before he pulls the trigger, i've noticed that i'm holding my breath so the cross doesn't move
Not since I have changed to these JSB Hades as they are designed to fragment on impact. Previously when I was using the JSB Jumbo Heavy's I was able to get double kills fairly easily.
Thanks Paul, I just have to be patient and let thing heal over time. I am hoping to get out again around Christmas and want to hit the farm that has all the cats. So keep watching for that video.
There is something oddly soothing about watching these videos. Maybe its because I grew up hunting but oddly watching rats get absolutely destroyed is somehow like asmr or something to me lol or maybe I'm just a psycho who's to say 🤣🤷♂️🤣🤷♂️🤣🤷♂️
Nothing wrong about enjoying what you see here. After all these animals a shot humanely and quickly. I think this is a better way to go than by the poisons that that eat and then die from.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter very true actually a quick virtually painless death at the hands of an experienced ratter is much more humane than a slow death by poisoning if you asked me
You just start a arms race 😃 other channels will be coming soon. Which, may not be a bed thing? When those farmers sees them the next day, did they say anything? Back in middle age, there was a job call mouse catcher, it is essential but always in the bottom of the society. Your shots clear their name. 👍
I just wish I had ground around me with half that amount my mum n dad have been getting rats in their garden been singing them off with my S410 AA. Great shooting guys
Your permission owners are obviously not inviting your over frequently enough! I hope the ankle heals well and quickly. Thank goodness it wasn't your trigger finger :-)
Yes having a full time job and a fiancee to balance into the shooting equation is not easy, plus I am a Range Officer at our pistol club so that add to the balancing act. All of this has sadly been put on hold for the ankle but I will be back out soon.
Perishing 222 rats HAS to make a big difference for a while. Seems like it'd take forever to kill that many with traps, or poison. Have poison traps around the building outside where I live and maybe kill one, or two every couple of weeks. They don't strike me as very efficient in curbing a rat infestation.
The trap are good in regards to placing the trap and filling it with the poison baits every so often. There is very little time spent in doing this. Where as hunting whilst very effective in only targeting the pest animals it is very time consuming for the hunters. If the farmers were paying us by the hour it would not be financially feasible, but as we charge no fees so we can have a place to hunt. Both the farmers, Bob and myself benefit from this arrangement.
Excellent shots and very good rifle, Argentinian hug!!!! Thanks mate, yes these rifles are awesome and I am in the process of doing a few little upgrades to mine this week sometime (not that it really needs it).
i don't know if i told you this or not, I watch all your videos, I had a friend that got shot in the head with a 22cal It didn't kill him but it did knock him out, And he recovered great But he said he didn't feel a thing all he remembered was hearing the shot. So telling you all that to tell you this >>> When you shot them rats in the head they don't feel anything! it don't even hurt them.
These rifles even though not suppressed are far quieter than and rimfire rifle and being PCP we have follow up shot available, compared to if we were using springer air rifles.
Many cities in the United States have rat problems but poison kills hawks, owls and and other good predators. The air rifle is a good way of keeping rat populations in check without the poison problem. I hope cities employ teams of men with these air rifles and night scopes for American urban ratting. This solution is a positive one for the environment and without bullets ricochetting around where people live.
Yes poisons are indiscriminate and will kill anything that eat it or and dead animal that has died from the poisons. Some people don't like what we as hunters do but a well places shot is far better that death by poisons.
Question?! Is this a really effective plague control method ? I mean there must be thousands of rats and at most you are killing a couple of hundreds. You would need more people shooting all from different angles
Shooting them is not the only control method that are used at these farms and you're right we are only doing minor reductions on the numbers of rats but every little bit helps. More shooters would just complicate things.
I love watching these videos. The are what I watch before I go to sleep at night. Keep up the awesome job!!

I think it will be many visits from now before we see any major drop in rat population. Yes they do notice their buddies lying around but it really does not effect them coming out.
M8 time stamp 11:25 was that rat training for the Olympics as it performed a great cartwheel stunt ?
Cheers on your success . God bless y'all.
Yes I think he was on the Gymnastics team.
On a busy night, how long does the compressed air last? Keep the humour going.
We get over 100 shots per fill but by that stage we need a break, a drink to refresh, refill and get back out there.
Awesome! Do the hogs eat the rats that fall in the pens?
Sometimes
That farm is infested. Serious rat problem. what happens to the bodies once you've finished for the night? Do you or the farmer clean up the carcasses? Also how are the bodies disposed of?
We collect the bodies and place them in a designated area and the farmer then disposes of them. I think they are placed on a compose heap or burnt.
Unbelievable shooting and filming well done you certainly filled your pockets there good on you, all the best Alun from Wales UK 👍👍👍
Cheers Mate.
The only ratting channel I subscribe to, and that’s for a reason!
Wow really, honored and flattered.
“Nice comment bob” 😂🤣😂 I’m in stitches here lol
It was a good way to break the silence.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter lol, it was quite comical mate like
@@anthonyhawes2186 Always good to have Bob out with me even if I do make fun of him here on the videos. (Sorry Bob)
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter haha...i suppose you gotta do something to pass the time when you have a little lull....keep up the good work mate...can’t wait for the next chapter 👍
Watch out for Belching Bob😆😆😆
Both setups look really good. Some excellent shots. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
Whats the best baite to use to get them out nice video
None, there are enough rats to not need baits.
what do you do with the dead rats, do you burn them, or bury them or just leave out in the open and hopefully another hungry animal will eat them
We dispose of them in a designated area set aside by the farmers.
Much better than my sniper skills on COD
LOL computer games are never as good as the real thing.
Excellent job. 222 rats plus 60 winged ones, by the truckload indeed!
P.S. Hope the ankle is improving.
Yes the ankle is on the mend just need to be patient, but I so want to get back out shooting.
Fantastic result great shooting bet the farmer notices a difference he had a really bad infestation keep it up best wishes.
I think the farmer notices but that only because of all the bodies left on the ground for him in the mornings.
Nice shooting mate, from Florida USA.
Thanks Buddy.
Nice to see a few rat tricks in there nice precise shooting n at least Bob didn't make the comment from the other end lol 🤣
It help having great equipment to work with, the FX Crown and ATN 4K Pro is a devastating combination.
"5" from the kiss of death" top line for the episode
Why are there so many? Is this a farm pest problem? If you’ve said it before I didn’t hear because I don’t use sound.
just perfect condition for breeding rats, food water and shelter. What more could a rat want, except maybe safety from the hunters.
Long kiss goodnight !! , Excuse me may I have a few more tins of pellets and a tank refill "but sir you were only here yesterday !!!!!
It was like something out of a horror the amount of rats
Exercise and fun at the same time , blisters on your trigger finger😂😂😂
Thanks lad 👍👍
Yeah we used a little bit of air LOL. The funny thing is the next morning I went target pistol shooting so my trigger finger really had a workout.
What’s FPS that gun, liked your video!!!
around 760FPS
nothing warms my heart more than invasive species being knocked down a peg. keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for watching mate.
You guy,s have got me seriously doing the same thing ,thanks for the videos.
Thanks for watching! but be careful it can get addictive.
You all awesome as always also your toys.. Is it need long long practice to shoot like that..?
Can I give coment in Indonesian..?
Thanks Mate, yes my equipment is and awesome setup but expensive but well worth the cost. Practice is always a must even after years of shooting you need to keep the practice in. Start off with large paper targets and concentrate on getting nice tight groups of five shots, then move on to smaller targets. Don't worry about being quick, be consistent. If you start to rush, your groups will become bigger and therefore less effective. Above all enjoy the sport.
I think you are doing a great job on those pests you're shots are on point keep it up✌
Thanks, will do!
The kiss of death ☠️ . Thank you for the delivery 😁😁👍🇸🇬
I ruined a perfectly romantic moment between these two rats.
🤣🤣🤣👍
I'd love to see more daytime shoots :) also, can anyone explain why the rats jiggle around so much when they've been shot?
Yeah shooting during the day provides several issues, there are farm workers, Rats are less active during daylight hours and I have a full time job that I need to attend during the day. As for the Jiggling rats, this is the nerves and muscles twitching. It is because they are no longer receiving signal from the brain, so they just go into spasm.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter Awesome, thanks for replying :) I love the ratting videos, they're fun to watch x
@@ChiBiMo they are fun to make too.
I still can't believe how quiet your rifle is!
That is the benefit of using air rifles, they would be even better if we could use silencers here in Australia.
Great video.. Amazing equipment..
Sometimes we need to control certain species
Please do keep posting
Warm regards and Best wishes
The UnknownManCub 👍😎👨🏭
Cheers mate, not everyone understands why this need to be done particularly in regards to the cats and foxes.
why do i feel like i'm the one doing the shooting?
everytime, before he pulls the trigger, i've noticed that i'm holding my breath so the cross doesn't move
Haha you're not alone , I just found myself doing the same without even realizing it until I saw your post lol.
I might mean that you like what we are doing and are getting immersed in the videos.
Do the pellets have enough energy to pass though one rat, kill it and kill another rat behind it?
They do...There have been a few double kills from one shot.
Not since I have changed to these JSB Hades as they are designed to fragment on impact. Previously when I was using the JSB Jumbo Heavy's I was able to get double kills fairly easily.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter uh ok..
Wow, I was guessing between 150 and 175. You have to go back there again, I'm sure there's still a butt load of them left.
Oh yes there are more than enough left there to breed back up and keep us coming back for more.
Hope the surgery goes well mate, looking forward to your next cat video. Keep safe
Thanks Paul, I just have to be patient and let thing heal over time. I am hoping to get out again around Christmas and want to hit the farm that has all the cats. So keep watching for that video.
Will do mate stay safe
There is something oddly soothing about watching these videos. Maybe its because I grew up hunting but oddly watching rats get absolutely destroyed is somehow like asmr or something to me lol or maybe I'm just a psycho who's to say 🤣🤷♂️🤣🤷♂️🤣🤷♂️
Nothing wrong about enjoying what you see here. After all these animals a shot humanely and quickly. I think this is a better way to go than by the poisons that that eat and then die from.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter very true actually a quick virtually painless death at the hands of an experienced ratter is much more humane than a slow death by poisoning if you asked me
@@EpicEvilMonster12 Agreed
Super nice guns. .22 has a wide radius entry wound for good stopping power
Yes I do like the .22 as a short range hunting load.
What caliber are you using?
.22
Hi what cal did you use, and how many fps
.22 and about 21FtLb at the muzzle
You hv done a tremendous job. Nice video.
Love from Pakistan
Raza
Thanks Raza
You just start a arms race 😃 other channels will be coming soon. Which, may not be a bed thing? When those farmers sees them the next day, did they say anything?
Back in middle age, there was a job call mouse catcher, it is essential but always in the bottom of the society. Your shots clear their name. 👍
There are many channels that do pest controling, watching them is what got me started.
I just wish I had ground around me with half that amount my mum n dad have been getting rats in their garden been singing them off with my S410 AA. Great shooting guys
Even on the quite night where we stuggle to get fifty rats in the night, it is still enjoyable just to get out.
@@SouthOZHobbyHunter PC range officer? been there done that. I named my S&W 686 "Mr Sweetheart" ;-)
@@apistosig4173 Nice, I don't think any of my firearms have names yet....
what silencer do you use budy?
no silencer as we are not allowed them here in Australia with out special licences.
Where is that located? near New South Whales?
60km North of Adelaide,South Australia.
Excelentes disparos y muy buen rifle, abrazo Argentino!!!!
Excellent shots and very good rifle, Argentinian hug!!!!
Thanks mate, yes these rifles are awesome and I am in the process of doing a few little upgrades to mine this week sometime (not that it really needs it).
You aught to make it like..6 for a rat trick..there seems to be so many and you should challenge yourself. Great vids.
Yeah there are enough of them but a Rattrick is always three rats in a row. I have however made a double rattrick a few times.
i don't know if i told you this or not, I watch all your videos, I had a friend that got shot in the head with a 22cal It didn't kill him but it did knock him out, And he recovered great But he said he didn't feel a thing all he remembered was hearing the shot. So telling you all that to tell you this >>> When you shot them rats in the head they don't feel anything! it don't even hurt them.
Hope that is wasn't deliberate and that he is ok now.
Lol I thought that sound was one of the live stock.
LOL nope just Bob.
What's are the benefits of attacking pests with pcp?
These rifles even though not suppressed are far quieter than and rimfire rifle and being PCP we have follow up shot available, compared to if we were using springer air rifles.
Great vid, keep up good work!
Thanks, will do!
We're going to have to start calling you The Milliner or Mister Hatter for all the hats...
Nah, can't be arsed skinning these little buggers. Just shoot and drop, move on to the next unlucky rat.
