I lived in Japan for 3 years and I don't know how many times I visited Kamakura and Enoshima to go to the aquarium... I never knew of this. My kids would have loved it! Hopefully when we can visit again one day we can ride it ourselves! :) Thank you!
This video is so calming to watch. I lived in Japan from 2013-2016. And I went to Enoshima once during that time. I even took a picture with the green gate at the beginning of this video and ate senbei bought at one of the stalls at that isle! Hearing 'odeguchi wa hidari gawa desu,' really brought back memory 😢 I missed Japan every single day since I left and really wish to go back someday 🙏🏻
Thanks for taking the effort and time to show us around the country! Visited back in September 2018 for two weeks, but always love to live vicariously through others!
Haha, my very first trip to Japan: stayed at a hotel next to Ofuna station and had the monorail pass by my window. I can see the hotel at the end of your video…
I love Japan small towns and housing area. Watching it feels somehow romantic with all those narrow roads, hilly terrains and cramped small houses. It gives a totally different vibe than my country as the roads are wide and the houses are big. And rarely we built houses or townships on hilly terrains like that.
Nice, it looks like a smaller, newer and more polite version of the Schwebebahn system in Wuppertal, Germany. Just make sure to keep elephants away from the train.
I've been there many years ago. That train was so different from what I know and it would slightly swing when stopped. I remember the name of the town because of the train.
i just found out your channel and im binge watching all of your travel videos. so relaxing. makes me want to go to Japan very soon. thank you for the videos ☺️
Thanks, you've just earned a subscriber. I remember my first time in Japan when travelling to my hostel in Kamakura from Haneda Airport. I walked from Ofuna Station and I was facinated by the monorail as I walked along the road underneath it. I had to duck the first time hearing it as I had no idea what was coming towards me! It is definitely one of my most memorable experiences when backpacking across Japan and I hope to one day ride on it when I'm next there.
When I lived in Kamakura as a child, (Late 70's, early 80's) I used to ride the small green train to Inoshima all the time. There was a hobby store there that had the best models. The monorail them did not go to Inoshima, but did take you to Dreamland Park.
Wow this is really amazing, rather than digging the earth or digging underground for train tracks it's much better to suspend it 😍. Seeing the city and cars below rather than the train tracks gives the feeling of flying as well 😍
as amazing as the technology is - the swaying is getting to me at normal speed no need to watch it any faster 😳🥴 thnx though for sharing another great adventure 😉
There are so many good videos of train rides around Japan here. While not the same physical experience of a real ride, I enjoy just looking at the scenery. Being able to stop the video, go back for a second look, is in a way better than passing something a speed and not able to appreciate it. I often follow the video journey on Google maps and satellite view to get a better appreciation of the surrounding area.
I really liked being able to see out the front window so much of the time. I visited Japan a few years ago and fell in love. Your videos do the best job of making me feel like I'm almost there again. I think it's the train announcements as well as the train sounds. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Ever since lockdown in March I've not been able to travel anywhere. It's videos like these that get me excited just to go somewhere. Thank you very much for the content and hello from Toronto Ontario!
Wanting to goto japan and i have just started watching your videos loved the Night Train and plan to go up to tokyo on the sunrise izumo keep up the great travels
Wow! I'll add this to my list of activities I'd like to do in Japan. Whenever I watch your videos, I get ideas where to visit and what to do in Japan. ありがとう、くがーさん!
This made me miss the times I used to live in Japan and South Korea, there's just something different when using the trains/monorails there. Great video as always Kuga-san! Really felt like I was in Japan again haha
Love your channel and hope to visit Japan if the world ever calms down. 2020 plans to visit during cherry blossoms blooming didn't happen because of the pandemic. Such a beautiful country.
Really nice transport system! It’s not so invasive as trains are and leaves the roads clear for the cars! Perfect for small cities or suburban areas! Thanks for the video! 🙌🏼
There is such a different feel to the ride. Especially when you come to the end of a platform, and it feels like you are going to roll off into oblivion!
I have just discovered your channel and I love it. I have been to Japan twice and I enjoyed the train journeys. Your vids bring back great memories. Thanks for uploading!
Thank you for posting these videos. They're amazing and very relaxing. I hope to visit Japan soon and I think your videos can be a great guide as well.
Lovely video, thanks for the post, I could watch anything and everything from Japan all day. I just found it interesting that 'Enoshima' already includes the word Island in its name and that the stations included 'eki' (station) but it was not mentioned in the romaji translation.
This is very cool, and I'm glad the Total Recall taxi driver found some work after the movie, but it seems a huge amount of infrastructure for something which spends most of the time directly above perfectly good roads. Not sure I'd want any of that great hulking edifice obscuring the sky in my town! Although, to be fair, my town isn't built into a mountainside. Still a cool trip and thanks for sharing.
I recommend you play the train ride part at 2x speed.
Lol y i got to try it😆😆
lol i did. It was fun. thanks for the tip ! 🚃
No way, I'm afraid to ride the roller coaster, for me it was quite enough.
Now, I know why the title is roller coaster after reading your suggestion 😂😂

Omg it does, how fun!

This is such a cute little transit system. It's looks like it's really convenient, since so many stations are located in the built-up estate areas.
it's certainly an aesthetic sense that is completely foreign to my government and its undying love for ugly grey concrete pillars.
