Personally I've not tried reflexx pads so I'm probably not the best person to answer your question. What I will say is that Prologix has a number of great options. Different feel and sized pads as well as practice kits and marching pads. For me the blackout series has become my "go to" pad. It's quiet enough to use anytime of the day or night at home and the response is perfect for when I practice rudiment workouts. When I'm on tour it's perfect to warm up before each show.
@@flip034 All I know is that both go for the 'limited rebound/more resistance' feeling. Hence the thickness of the soft material used (meinl also has their variation of this kind of pad too). The only problem is that I haven't gotten my hands on a Reflexx pad so I can't tell the difference, but after all the videos I've watched, it seems to me that Reflect has a quieter sound, but prologix is more versatile. At the end, the both fulfill the duty of "putting more work into the strokes".
Im looking for a pad to build chops but still be able to play and dig into. Is there one pad from prologix's that does this? I was looking at the Marksman but dont like that it is missing a rim. The quietness on this blackout looks awesome too
Hi Michael! Appreciate your demo. What size pad are you using? 8, 10, or 12? Progolix recently discontinued the 10 inch pad which is a shame because it could fit in my backpad and perfectly on my snare stand. As far as I can tell, neither of the two sizes still in production will be able to fit both situations, so I'm trying to figure out if either the 8 or the 12 will be an workable replacement.
Hey Brett, I'm using the 12" padl. I like it as it fits perfectly on a standard snare stand. It's also fits on top on a 14" snare drum (see my artist profile photo here www.prologixpercussion.com/artist or there's a clearer image on my facebook page facebook.com/MichaelBrushDrummer) My advice would be to go for the 12" pad, it's just awesome.
Really enjoying this video. Straightforward demo with phone mic quality was all I needed for an evaluation of this pad. Bought myself one now. Cheers!
Prologix's best pad IMO.
GOOD....
How does it compare to the reflex pad

I would highly recommend the blackout pad for your needs. The other would be the blue lightening pad.
Have you tried the reflexx?
