  • Kapil Sibal Rajya Sabha Speech: Speaking in Rajya Sabha, MP Kapil Sibal talked about unemployment in India. "Unemployed people are in the unorganised sector. The CMIE data says that 75% of our population belongs to the working age group of 111 crore people out of 140 crore of which 83% are unemployed. Now you can imagine the crisis. I would've thought the FM should have given us a roadmap but unfortunately they haven't been able to provide us this roadmap," said Kapil Sibal. Listen to the full speech.

Achaa…then why unemployment was there in upa regime also…this guy was law minister in 2013 ..how many reforms he made in laws related accessibility for poors ? Has he ever fought case for a poor person..
Doing politics over unemployment is one thing and solving is another
Had they built infrastructure in 1980s we would have been closer to chinese economy and thus unemployment would have been close to zero but all they did was socialism and this is the state of india that we have to build infrastructure such as WDFC EDFC expressway …infra brings industry and industries bring jobs …WE HAVE GOT BRILLIANT IDEAS n minds ALREADY since 70 years of independence but not a proper infrastructure to implement them better than our competitors…it’s happening under modi who is building infrastructure 4 times faster than these KHANGRESSI stoogs

Only a stupid person can make such arguments. Problem is not about bjp and congress. People didn't vote to congress in 2014 because they started to lose grip on inflation & employment. Believe me, government has only 3 objectives. 1. Regulate inflation 2. Regulate employment 3. Regulate national security. Other than this, govt has no business at all. All leaders if they are doing anything other than this, it means they are fooling you. Bjp after 2020 lost its grip by greater extent. Inflation rose to staggering 8%. In medical sector. It rose to 14%. (This is only by govt data which is another fraud. Those numbers on the ground seems above 18%). Formal unemployment has rose 64% among working age population. Common, you can't say selling pan beedi is employment. If someone says that to you, please believe yourself that you are biggest fool of the world. Woman labour participation has dramatically fallen below 18%. India's debt has rose by 300% in last 5 years & hence budget's 20% is going in interest payment. This is the reality. If you prove me wrong on any of my number, you are free to abuse in whatever language you know. I am happy to hear that. Bjp vs congress karna chhodo.. current govt vs. citizen karo. Congress after liberalisation have done wonders for IT & finance sectors.. BJP haven't done 5% of this other than just destroying India's MSME.

And he did ask, what the budget is doing for our youth. I'd like to say, that the budget, infact the whole government is hell bent on ensuring that the youth gets buried in debt before they get or buried 6ft under (most likely the debt will have them buried 6ft under)
My respect for this gentleman has sky rocketed. I wish, we had intelligent folks as our ministers, cops, judges, in healthcare, and in education system (mind you, educated doesn't mean intelligent, hence, i specifically mentioned INTELLIGENT).

IF WE LOOK AT THE TOTAL INDIAN POPULATION is 1.4 billion, out of which 480 million are kids under 20. about a 140 million are aged above 60, so most of them are retired. so that makes it 620 million who don't work because they are too young to work or too old to work. which is fine, they are doing their part or did their part. so that leaves 78 crores who are employable age. ACCORDING TO KAPIL SIBIL 62.4 CRORES(80% OF EMPLOYABLE AGE) ARE UNEMPLOYED, AND ONLY 15.6 CRORES ARE CURRENTLY EMPLOYED. I DONT THINK A SENIOR ADVOCATE WITH SUCH REPUTATION WOULD DO SOMETHING DISGUSTING LIKE PADDING HIS NUMBERS. and last I checked there were about 6 CRORE employees working in PRIVATE SECTOR and about 2 CRORE working in the PUBLIC SECTOR. about 17 CRORES of NEW EPF (EMPLOYEE PROVIDENT FUND) accounts were opened in the last 10 YEARS. I just recollected the name of that fund. plus about 30 CRORE MUDRA LOANS are given in the last 10 YEARS. so if you add up 30 + 17 + 6 + 2 = 55 CRORES OF OUR POPULATION ARE CURENTLY EMPLOYED OUT OF WHICH 47 CRORES ARE RECENTLY EMPLOYED IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. I HAVENT ADDED THE EMPLOYMENT OPPERTUNITIES THAT THOSE MUDRA LOANS GENERATE ATLEAST 2 NEW EMPLOYEES PER LOAN SINCE I AM AN OPTIMIST, PLUS I HAVENT ADDED AGNIVEERS IN THIS, OR ADDED ALREADY EXISTING SMALL BUSNIESSES, WHICH WILL NOT BE SEEN IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR GROUP. so how can there be 80% unemployment as claimed by this person? 🤨😡😡😡

@@1008apocalypse1008 Instead of focusing on past non-achievements from a decade ago, shouldn't we be asking our elected officials about the current state of affairs, particularly the creation of jobs? We voted for them expecting they would address our needs, yet we are confronted with issues such as leaked exam papers, train accidents, and deteriorating infrastructure.
It’s important to understand that this isn’t about any party, BJP, Congress, or whoever comes next. As a new generation, we must look at the broader picture. Our ruling party should be held accountable for crucial issues like unemployment and the high tax rates we face. We are not only paying income tax but we are all contributing through day-to-day GST and SGST on everything from household expenses to educational fees.
Blindly supporting a political party can hinder our freedom of thought and basic sense of accountability. Instead of comparing ourselves to less developed neighbors, Shouldn't we aspire to the standards of developed nations? Shouldn’t we aim for a future where our children don’t have to endure the same broken roads and inadequate services, despite the taxes we pay?
I believe it’s time for us to demand accountability and better services from our chosen government. After all, we deserve to see tangible improvements, Don't we?

A brilliant summary of issues and their solutions. Sadly, our governments ego is too big to admit that they were wrong and swiftly adapt these solutions.

You may support either of the two party but u need to recognise the fact that india is in deep crisis of unemployment and that is a fact. Our education system is not linked to industry. We need bi partisan consensus on unemployment

I'll admit raijya sabha sessions are much peaceful and informative than lok sabha. Listening to Mr. Sibal's points and the depth of understanding is commendable. I wish if the FM had such acumen in understanding the economic matters and their implications. Wishing for a better future.
