And abused children and innocents.

For me I don't know if my understanding is wrong. But what I know is that tongues are languages which exist on the planet. For example I can't speak Spanish but God uses me to communicate to Spanish people and they understand. From acts people from different parts of the world understood what the disciples were saying in their own languages. Then when it comes to interpretation it's were, pr Randy is preaching and then another person is interpretating to another language like Igbo or yoruba. I don't know if I'm right or wrong
You are right, if one speaks in tongues other people should understand what one is saying . For instance during pentecost the disciples spoke in different tongues and the people understood them in their different languages.

Speaking in tongues is when the disciples would be speaking to a group of people where they all spoke a different language but when Paul and the other disciples spoke every single person understood what he said in their own language. The gift of tongues is the ability to speak and have everyone who speaks a different language understand what you say. Gift of tongues is not some babbling nonsense where it cannot be interpreted or understood!
The Trinity portrait by Catholic Church is not the same as what we believe in the Godhead/ Trinity of the Bible. So pls don't judge that we SDAs are condemned because we believe in Trinity. Leave the judgment to the Lord. It's His job, not yours.

Timely message, however the SDA church receives the same condemnation by subscribing the fundamental error of Catholicism called Trinity.

The Holy Spirit delivers. You need not to deliver, please, stick to preaching the Word.
The Spirit of God can bestow power upon God's ministers to deliver. So long as the glory goes to God and not to the minister!
