Your painting is beautiful. I am a beginner, so I look for videos like yours that show the slow, step-by-step process. Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us.
Recently retired, wanting to learn, no skills. Great lesson. It would help me tremendously if you would talk about your brush, paints and explain what you are mixing. I feel very art challenged. Great help though watching you build the trees thank you so much. djb
Hello! Im a student but I’ll try to help as best as possible. Sometimes mixing watercolor paint can be a little bit tricky because you may be guessing what colors to use if you don’t have them all, so I suggest having a color wheel (either a picture on your phone or actually painting one) because it makes it easier to figure out which colors to mix so you can get this other color. It just takes some practice and lots of guessing! Having a blank white piece of paper where you check the color of the paint first also helps before heading on in to your actual work, this way you can figure out if it needs more blue, red, or yellow. Having the primary colors at your side is also helpful! Watercolor brushes have softer bristles and aren’t always shaped like acrylic or oil brushes may be. Taping the edges of your paper down helps it as well because it avoids wrinkling the paper when the watercolor dries (since the water makes the paper rise when it’s wet). You can buy whichever watercolor paints you’d like, they are all the same but they do sometimes differ in quality. You don’t need to buy a whole set of watercolor paints either, simply having blue, red, and yellow is enough and it helps with practicing how to mix other colors. Watercolor paints can be expensive sometimes which is why I just recommend buying the primary colors. I hope you have fun painting! I don’t mind answering some questions :)
@@eonicMT Colour wheel great idea! Also, I keep record of what all my paint colours look like on a card - a little sample of what they are like pale and deep, because you can't tell from the tube.
Excellent!!! I'm a self-taught something like an artist and had lately trouble with painting a different tree like the ones I usually paint. So THANKS SO MUCH.
When I did it was in a similar style… variety of reasons I haven’t painted in quite a while. This is so inspiring, familiar, though superior... Not put off nor intimidating. Thank you for sharing
For beginner...you should show your palette as well and if an indication of how much water you use and how thick you mix. Nice is to see the pencil work up close. Also like the trees as a motive.
Simply fabulous!!! I love the music. The whole video is so beautiful and relaxing. Wish you would list the brushes you use. As wondering where you purchased the very, very fine brush. You are amazing!
perfectly done tutorial! thank you for adding the material list- but i have to ask about the brushes used.. can you provide details on that first brush ?

I am not retired, but in the same place.
Same. I ended up mixing random colors just to guess and needless to say it doesn't look the same at all haha.

I love watching you paint, and Satie's "Gymnopedie No 1" is one of my favorite classical pieces. Thank you : )

I love that you used Satie’s piano piece as the background, it’s been a while since I’ve listened and played it
So pretty and simple... you can actually do these in a small board canvas and give them out as a little gift.

Thanks Jay. Very helpful. Good instructions.
You create such an amazing mood watching you paint. Well done, the painting is fantastic. Best 14:47 that I have spent in a long time. Thank you.
Look at the inspiration pictures. Trees don't have downward facing branches unless they are covered with heavy snow.
I’m looking out my window here in the Sierra on July 1, and I see trees with upward and downward facing evergreen branches. Lovely demo. Thanks.
Uh, actually, a few do. I've seen them in Western US
