I love how a gizmo that's the size of a pocket operator (and looks like one) has more horsepower and sound capabilities than full sized grooveboxes at 6x-10x the cost of a pocket operator. And it runs off batteries for like 10+ hours. And syncs music over to your daw with frakkin' bluetooth. Oh and it samples. And has like 20+ synth engines. For $250. Looks like a toy. Makes many of the non toy devices like toys in comparison. Everyone is drooling over the Dirtywave M8 and this thing is just as powerful at a fraction of the cost.
Yeah whenever I stop to think about I still find it crazy too... You can't even say "well I could do that on my phone" well maybe but the WB is half the size and half the weight of a phone hehe. On the comparaison with the M8 I would say it doesn't sound as pristine, but it was always intended as a lo-fi-ish device, and I find it so so much faster than the M8, or any other grooveboxes I've used for that matter. Also as an old guy with bad eye sight, the super clear segment display is a big plus.
Excited when the off-beat stuff syncs up @2:15 and 2:40. And the ringing-oscillation sound in the background throughout means something to me -- IDK what -- reminds me of throat singing. Thanks for sharing this.
@@galactictapes oh yeah, I am not a metal fan per-se and I know what you mean! I re-listened and my head instinctively turned to the right like 30° comprehending the metal reference. 🙂 I realize this is something I really like about music -- the directness / direct value and effect bringing styles from other genres has to new compositions and performances.
