Usually, as long as you keep the filter clean and run annual empty disinfecting cleaning cycles, it will last a very long time, especially most dishwashers made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool dishwashers haven’t been as compromised as the washers have been overtime. I can’t believe the interior light still works too! What a great machine. We need a GE pot-scrubber update soon!!
Cleaning cycles I admit we don't do much, but I am always on top of the filter cleanings. Hopefully it keeps going. I should make a Potscrubber video again sometime!
@@Sharkie626I agree with Goldenwoodz. The only reason I even opened this video was because I thought it was going to be about the pot scrubber in the basement.
Glad that's fixed, and was an easy repair! Looks like those plastic tabs hold a lot of weight, plus all the expanding, and contracting cycles with each load of dishes, no wonder they gave way. Do you think it would be wise to purchase another set to have on hand?
Yeah for the environment that it's in, it is kind of understandable. Hmm, maybe an extra pair could help, but given it's Whirlpool-made, and the parts were simple to find after almost 8 years, I think it should be okay.
I am not a big fan of plastic brackets, I prefer stainless steel brackets for the dishwasher that won't break prematurely and get it working again. I don't know why all manufacturers use cheap parts and expect folks to pay the price to either repair or replace the dishwasher and use the dishwasher to clean dishes on the regular basis.

Yeah such is the way things are these days...... But luckily these weren't hard to replace and didn't involve moving the dishwasher at all.
