Good break down. I only ever bought the storyline with Batgirl and Cat Woman that Kevin Maguire drew. Never got into this series beyond that. Might check some more out if I see them cheap.

This series for me was a disappointing. The writer doesn’t get who Batman is. Batman is obsessed with fighting crime. It’s not something he can turn on and off. The fact that Alfred had to coax him into being Batman, is just silly. Better way to write it is Alfred asking him to find time to just visit her. So many writers don’t get the character their writing, and editors aren’t worthy of a paycheck.

This story was put out in 2007. It was supposed to represent Year 1 Batman, similar to Legends of the Dark Knight.
