Every retreat has been a treat but this one, would be #1 on my Go to France bucketlist. I would run around France like a mad woman, catching all my favorite YTers, then spend a week doing this. Heaven.
Grest minds think alike. I have been thinking exactly the same thing. I'll need to wait till 2027/28 when I retire. Not enough leave to do it all. Hoping they have this beginner artist retreat then. 💜
I am beginning to really love your videos. They are so different from other Chateaux. You are not so much renovating or restoring it as using it as a place to do your thing. And you are both so natural and unpretentious it’s refreshing.
That is very kind of you! Yes, we're on a different path - we did a video ("Getting Lit") a few weeks ago that dipped into what we're trying to be. And yes, we'll never be anything but ourselves...
That was a marvelous set of activities. Everyone seemed to truly enjoy the interaction amongst so many lovely ladies that don’t believe in staying home watching tv. Congratulations
How wonderful it is to see all the dreams, progress, and goals you two have accomplished! I remember your stay with Stephanie and all the planning, learning, and knowledge you gained before your big purchase. Well done! Deb from Wisconsin USA
As I watch the square and the folks at the cafe, I thought "I HOPE Sara and Steve are enjoying that side of French life, too. Making time to just stop and sit and people watch and enjoy each other's silence and then take up a good conversation again." I know it is extra difficult, coming from North America, to throw off the bonds that tie us to the never-ending To Do list, but I sincerely wish that you frequently partake of your new liberties, feel free of feeling you MUST be doing something because relaxing is "wasting time," and go cameras-off and just chill and enjoy France!
Oh yes, I've heard many wordsmith preferences over the years - dinner vs lunch, supper vs dinner, tea vs dinner - I think it's good discussion point for regional & cultural preferences on language!
@@ManorandMaker Dinner implies a formality that is not lunch, tea or supper. Your beautiful table setting, in a chateau no less, is set for dinner!💜 (If only you had bought the silver service you spotted at the market…..)
Regarding the vase, that's also the going price here in our local antique shop, except your vase was a much prettier color and prettier foliage, too. Lovely!
What a great way to be introduced to fun and creative activities, which may turn into life long hobbies. Shopping trips are always welcome and fun. You guys certainly know how to show visitors a great time! :)
thanks for sharing : your lovely guests, cooks and yourself are pieces of art - colorful, inspirational and happy in a wonderful autumn 🍁surroundings at the chateau or in medieval Sarlat 👍🍂👏
I thought that looked like soooo much fun, too! Wasn't the silk painting just a treat? All those colours on a beautiful soft and light fabric that is to be worn and showed off. It looked so playful. My man's mother is an artist - and a darn good one, too - who used to do screen printing...I wonder if she's tried silk painting... I wouldn't call my myself an artist, but I do love making crafty stuff. It's obvious you both love opening your chateau for these life-uplifting retreats. And now, the beds have to be stripped again...sigh. 😊 Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand.
Your retreats always look like they are so much fun. The food, OMG are your chefs up for adoption? Because I would love to be adopted and to eat their amazing food every day. All of your guests made beautiful art, I love the painting on silk, so much talent from people that say they don’t have talent, liars ❤️. Your talented artists that run the retreat are amazing! The service set, and the desk and lamp, I want! Those were amazing. Thank you for another wonderful video, I love watching the two of you together and the fun and love you have doing things together.
What a lovely experience you have provided for your guests. ❤❤❤
Beyond exciting and most wonderful‼️
Your vision is wonderful.

Keep up the important work you are doing.
I feel like this is almost haiku!

This sounds like an excellent plan!
This looked like absolute fun!, I am a little jealous….thanks for sharing

Looks like so much fun and I'll say it again, the food and your chefs are amazing. You both make it so relaxed and enjoyable.
It is so much fun! (and now it's so quiet here...cant wait for the writers to arrive!)

This looks so fun! How cool to make a scarf outside in the sun. What a treat!
We have supper in Ontario. In France with a table laid like yours, it is dinner!💜

Hello that is beautiful artwork wow
For a bunch of "non-artists" - there was a lot of "wow, I created that!"
What a fun gathering! Art = Joy in my book.

Looks fabulous and beautiful. Food looks amazing.

I wish I could taste the food and everything else.
The silk painting was nic3
Sarah, had to giggle when you said "supper". When I go back to Iowa I always have to clarify if dinner is noon or night n conversation!!! hahahaha
Adventures have never started with uncertainty. They start with a belief, and it is often misguided.
I would be interest in participating in one of your painting seminar but how dobwe know the price dates what art could you inform us what to do

That Silverware belongs in your pantry. Oh I wish I could come to the next not sure I could afford it.
I agree! Sigh....
'"Porte couteaux" for the knife rest.
