Sadly we are no longer able to travel through this wonderful structure as the landowner has sealed the southern portal with a massive door, no-one's getting out the far end without a key believe me!!!
@@andrewbarrett42 That's a real shame, I got some decent photos at the South Portal before it was shut. I couldn't walk through as I had forgotten my torch, but went round to find the north end but got caught by the landowner who wasn't best pleased to see me so I discreetly took my leave!!
@@andrewbarrett42 I made my way up from the road by Station Farm on a public footpath, I got onto the trackbed by the trees/large bushes and was making my way along when a guy who had followed me up from the farm asked me what I was doing. I was honest with him and told him I was looking for the northern portal of the tunnel, he wasn't very happy, told me I was trespassing and that he was fed up with 'people like you wanting to get into the tunnel'. I tried to reason with him in the hope that he may allow me access but he was having none of it. He said that he had sealed off that end of the tunnel with barbed wire and fencing. I then made my way back to the car by way of the public footpath. I hope that helps.
@@seamusmcevoy2011 Yeah you got to be careful, some farmers land owners cant get very funny. You can get to the tunnel another way with out being seen, there are some woods above the tunnel, you could park on the lane above the tunnel and sneak through the woods, the tunnel isn,t that long,i,ve been through a lot longer.
Love your work is it ok to use some of your film footage for my film Train to nowhere, it's about a train leaves St. Peter's station just after midnight,in 1944 one year before the end of the Second World War, anyway, The train thunders into a tunnel and disappear. 71 years later 6 cyclists come Across the abandoned tunnel, the story unfolds from there. I will put the trailer. On RUclips. Thanks from Pete, Director of PRT FILMS.
