Now if Oregon could get a glorified bye week against Idaho in the middle of November like SEC teams get…then we are talking. It’s not the number of conference games they play it’s when they play the cupcakes! While Oregon is playing on the road in Wisconsin this year Bama and Georgia will be playing McGillicutty State at home…it’s BS
@@PvtPooter Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin this year, Penn State in future years. Indiana and Illinois are the Stanford/Wazzu equivalent of the Big Ten. In a 12 team playoff, there's zero reason to play tough non-cons.
@@howardeerlich7029 a 4th place finish in the Big Ten would certainly be considered a bad year for Oregon. An additional tough OOC game (likely a loss given your scenario) would not help their playoff odds there. The playoff is also expected to expand to 16 soon.
Nonissue. Oregon State and Boise as non-conf opponents is not a weak schedule. Both of those teams are better than some of the teams in the B1G and SEC and the rest of the now so called power 4 conferences. Who is Ohio State playing in 2024? Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall (all at home)...now that's a weak non-conference schedule.
Fact check for ya, Ohio State HAS played in Eugene once. It was in 1967, the same year Autzen Stadium was built. Autzen's undergone several renovations since then obviously but yeah, the last time the Buckeyes stepped foot in Autzen was when the paint was still wet. For the record that game ended 30-0 Ohio State so I wouldn't mind seeing a blowout being returned in kind. No way we're getting a shutout like they had nearly 60 years ago but if it's even a two score win I'll be happy.
It better not be. Michigan's didn't play NOBODY except Ohio State last year before the playoffs. And the SEC gets to play Butt Crack Community college one game a year lol and been getting away with it for decades.
I can see us losing those two games. Injuries happen, and sometimes the hype doesn't pan out... but let's hope that isn't the case and all our kids stay healthy and play their hearts out and go on to be successful adults!
Lol.... You mean like Georgia and Michigan has had like every year for a while now, up until this year?!! Yeah I don't think it's a problem! Lol Oregon could even start the season at number 3.
Hey spence, I was listening to your show and a manscape commercial came on and I swear I can't tell the diff from you and Pete Davidsons voice. ahaha I can't stop hearing it now.
Oregon plays 8 STRAIGHT GAMES without a bye week. They play the most consecutive games in the B1G conference and I’m willing to guess the most out of any power conference. You get absolutely zero bonus points in schedule strength for this. To top it off, they are traveling way more miles/time zones than other teams and still get zero points for it.
The Duck Schedule harder than ever? Who knows? Maybe this will get them to finally lose more games &/or possibly the NCAA finally taking action on those Doping Ducks! If pretty much anyone right now can have a nonstop Winning Streak as big or Bigger than Oregon’s last year & it is someone other than an Oregon School & those Ducks see their winning ways turn into nonstop losing ways! I’ll be satisfied BIG TIME.

If a few people have doubts about swapping the Texas tech for the beavs, tons would have reservations about doing the converse

SEC cupcakes are a JOKE
Non-conference schedule doesn't matter anymore because the regular season is harder than before.
It matters if Oregon finishes 4th in Big 10 and are fighting with 2nd placed Big 12 for a playoff spot
Yeah because Illinois and Indiana are tough 😂

It's Boise State, not Boise.
Yeah I think it's another example of what life is like in the B1G now for Oregon

Nice find--just a few things have changed since then!

10-2 means we likely lose to UM and OSU. I just can't see us losing both games.

Have to avoid a stumble against a team they should beat
99 more days :)
AND NOW FEWER
Go Ducks!!!
I am more excited for this season than I have been in a while... and I was pretty stoked for last year!
You are correct to feel that way.
I bet we don't hear a peep from the NCAA regarding Dante.
They have to rule one way or the other

Georgia scheduled oregon 🥲😬😟😭
@@Lilllingstonerin Atlanta…LOL
@Brandontheduck which was technically a neutral site... but cmon, it was Georgia in Georgia lol
@@srajala42 that’d be like if Georgia came to Portland to play the Ducks
@Brandontheduck well, like Salem being that they're both in the middle of the most populated parts of the state
With eight team playoff it doesn't matter any more.
It’s 12 teams. But your point is still valid
Yeah that's a part of it--and why I don't like the 12-team format
as long as we win out until the bigger games we shouldn’t be any lower than ranked 5-7. there are some big games where teams could jump up
Thanks Spence! 🦆🦆🦆
Sco!

Guess Oregon should have scheduled the Catamounts, 🤷♂ or Mercer or Tennessee State
I hope we are ranked top 10, but not top 5. Better to keep low profile.
Hard to do at Oregon haha
Go Ducks!!!
Mannnnn listen Spence if we beat Ohio state by 17 WE WINNING THE NATTY 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha dude for real that would be NUTS
I think will howard will make some mistakes due to the environment he will be in has he ever played in any big games????
Yes, won B12 title w/Kansas St in 2022
