Libby Lu was wild! From the years 2003-2006, every girls birthday party was held there. I’m pretty sure I still posses the drawstring bag they gave you while you were there.
I had a pair of pink shorts that said princess across the back from Libby Lu until like 3 years ago😂 that place used to have a chokehold on little girls
Yes! I completely forgot that place ever existed, and I think this episode unlocked a core memory of my childhood lol. I still remember me and my friends getting their sparkly body spray.
As someone who works with food I totally relate to this. Sometimes you just accidentally put things where they don’t belong and sometimes you get lucky and it’s in an empty trashcan 🤷🏼♀️
Went to club Libby Lu at the mall of America in the early 00s. My hair was so glittery and stiff from all the hairspray and bobby pins. It honestly was a special memory I share with my mom when we went on a mother daughter trip- turned a funeral trip into a vacation!
I remember taking my niece to a party in the Mall of America Libby Lu in the 00s! I would have loved to have had one when I was a little girl. Kids’ make up and sparkles? Heck yes! That was the only Libby Lu I knew about though. It wasn’t like Claire’s where it was a staple in every mall.
We had them in IL too! 😮 My twin sister and I would go there for special occasions (like when we stayed over with my aunt) or birthday parties! 😂 What a throwback!!
I literally just quit my job at Things Remembered they're still in malls there's about 140 stores left nationwide. Went bankrupt back in 2019 but was immediately purchased
I bought our wedding cake topper from things remembered in 2015. I also received an engraved medallion as a free gift with my purchase. Definitely brings back memories!
When I was growing up, Club Libby-Lu was the “it girl” birthday party place. I went to one as a pre-teen for a birthday party and it was the best time. I felt so ✨elite✨
I grew up in seattle and Libby Lous were EVERYWHERE in every mall. I do vividly remember being like 11 and going there for a birthday and feeling a little too old for it.. but hey it’s where I learned to do the Macarena (during their very awkward group dancing session at the end).
I'm also from washington(South of seattle) and none of these stores existed in the area....also being there is only roughly 3 malls in the whole state for the last 40 years, you couldn't be more wrong.
I remember going to a Club Libby Lu in Knoxville TN back in the day for one of my friend’s birthday parties!! I got pictures to prove it. There was a lot of glitter and Hannah Montana 😂
Club Libby Lu brought back some dark memories of being a chubby kid and going to one for a birthday party and none of the clothes fitting me and feeling horrified😂
I loved Libby Lu! they had a store where you could buy makeup and jewelry and such and a party area in the back. I went to a party one time. at the end, they just straight up gave you a bag of glitter as a party favor. I would sprinkle that stuff on everything. my mom was not as pleased.
I went to libby lus ONCE when i was younger for a friends birthday party when i was super young. They do indeed call all of the kids princesses and it was a lovely event.
You guys should totally do a DnD session with the crew u can just get a pro dnd master to run it for u I think it could be pretty funny with u guys playing
Libby Lu was the hotspot where I live. It was in the mall called Mayfair mall in Wauwatosa, WI and I have so many photos of me and my cousins and sister there
Libby Lou was on the second floor of Crossgates Mall across from Best Buy. And Things Remembered was also on the second floor next door to Radio Shack across from the food court.
Yeah, Things Remembered is still going strong in The Parks Mall in Arlington, Texas but sadly all that's left of Libby Lu is my glitter, pop star, filled memories. That was a fun birthday.
Libby Lu was in the mall in Alabama where I live when I was a kid and I never got to go but was always jealous of all my friends who had parties there:( it was so cool
Small town Jersey girl. We had Club Libby Lou. I have photos from when Girl Scouts went... We all wore the hairstyles the next day and thought we were so cool even though our hair was messed up from sleeping.
@@deirdre4017 she would have been 5/6 when that place was cool. It was trendy in the early 2000’s cause it was past my time. And i think even my sister was too old for it. Cause we never went there but i remember having seen it in the fancy mall.
Club Libby Lu was a fever dream I forgot about. There's a picture of seven year old me in too much makeup and a very tight crop top that should never surface
Everyday I miss Libby Lu. I have a very distinct memory of going to a bday party at Libby Lu in MOA and after we did our makeup and costumes went into the hall and danced to Mambo No. 5
LIBBY LU!!!! That was my favorite place when I was little! Y’all just unlocked a core memory for me!!! My mom and I used to go there all the time for girls day!!! I can still smell the cotton candy body spray 😌
Gander RV, formerly Gander Mountain, Inc. and Gander Outdoors, Inc., is a retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor recreation products and services.
The things remembered in the malls near me were all vestibules (or whatever) in the middle of the mall so I never trusted them. I’ve never seen one that’s a full-blown store you walk into.
If you are going to mention the song Older Women you should acknowledge it was a #1 hit for Ronnie McDowell (who is still entertaining) and was just re-released by his son Tyler Dean McDowell.
Theres kinda still a Gander Mountain in my city in Texas. They changed to Gander Outdoors for a while, and now they seem to only operate as an RV shop and servicing center.
I miss club Libby Lu! Had some awesome times there and always left looking like a princess! 22 and I think I still have some of the hair extension ponytail things laying around somewhere!
I used to work at Club Libby Lu! I hated it! lol. Cleaning up after those parties was a nightmare. They were owned by the now extinct Saks 5th Avenue. I also worked at Things Remembered.
There is a Things Remembered store at my mall, so there are definitely still at least a few left.
Yes! I have one at my mall still too
I think there is one here too. I'm guessing maybe some franchises still exist
Still a few in Ohio. There is one in the mall nearest to me.
I’m in NJ and I know several malls that have one
When they said one more I deadass thought they were gonna say the one that's in my mall rn
Libby Lu was wild! From the years 2003-2006, every girls birthday party was held there. I’m pretty sure I still posses the drawstring bag they gave you while you were there.
Yes! I had/attended many a birthday party there at the mall in Austin, TX
Yeah!! Brings back memories!! 😂😍
I had a pair of pink shorts that said princess across the back from Libby Lu until like 3 years ago😂 that place used to have a chokehold on little girls
Libby Lu gave my whole 2nd grade friend group lice lol
Yes! I completely forgot that place ever existed, and I think this episode unlocked a core memory of my childhood lol. I still remember me and my friends getting their sparkly body spray.

Yes! Was just coming to the comment section to say the same thing!

We had a Libby Lu in the South as well.
We had them in IL too! 😮 My twin sister and I would go there for special occasions (like when we stayed over with my aunt) or birthday parties! 😂 What a throwback!!
I went to the Mall of America one twice. I loved it!
We had one in central Iowa!!
"But the dirt would still be there." Link, I couldn't agree more!!!

Matt’s laugh at 9:49 in response to Rhett is so funny
Came here for this comment 😄
The best part was definitely just feeding Rhett. Maybe that should just be the whole episode lol
Dude, Zany Brainy was THE place I wanted to go to when I was a kid, especially with my grandma. Good freaking times.
My grandma ALSO took me thetr
Honestly, I only missed a couple of them. I love going to the malls. But you’ll catch me in Spencer’s, Hot Topic or the book stores mostly.
Tilt the arcade,EB Games/GameStop, Mediaplay, and KB Toys!
Same. Like, those stores and places like Third Planet were the only ones I went to.
@@mslovelyshot yes!!! I miss tilts so much. Now, it's a two floor forever 21 :/ also EB toys was my jam.

Underrated comment 🤣
I would. Lol

Eyyy a fellow Knoxvillian in the comments! I don't remember the Libby Lu here, but I also wasn't the target audience lol
I’m outside Knoxville and I remember my sister going to those parties. Not sure if I did but we definitely have pictures of the parties somewhere
Love Matt's energy.
Club Libby Lu brought back some dark memories of being a chubby kid and going to one for a birthday party and none of the clothes fitting me and feeling horrified😂
I was too but I don't remember them having clothes... So either mine didn't, or I was being protected from that. 😭
Libby Lu was THE PLACE to have your birthday party. Only the coolest girls had parties there.

I had 2 birthday parties at Club Libby Lu as a kid (South FL), there was so much glitter. We also had WannaDo City (which was WILD)!

Love Matt’s smile ☺️ I just realized he could almost be the twin of Tony from the @Five’s A Crowd Podcast. 😋
They should do “To Be Discontinued: Stores Edition”
I would love to see them visit the last remaining Kmarts and/or Sears. 😂
Me 2
We need more Carney content! Love him. ❤
Libby Lu was the hotspot where I live. It was in the mall called Mayfair mall in Wauwatosa, WI and I have so many photos of me and my cousins and sister there
I got excited when he said there was only one Things Remembered left because I thought he was going to mention my local mall

Awesome!!!!
Libby Lou was on the second floor of Crossgates Mall across from Best Buy. And Things Remembered was also on the second floor next door to Radio Shack across from the food court.

Omg Club Libby Lu!!!!!! I totally forgot about it until they were describing it that was so fun!!!!
There was a Gander Mountain here in Ocala Florida until very recently they changed it to a camping world.
Small town Jersey girl. We had Club Libby Lou. I have photos from when Girl Scouts went... We all wore the hairstyles the next day and thought we were so cool even though our hair was messed up from sleeping.

Omg when he said club Libby Lu I got some hard-core nostalgia 😭
Libby Lu was so iconic
I would love to see them play a game of d&d
I imagine it would go a lot like Viva La Dirt League's D&D channel 😂
As an avid player of D&D I would do anything to see them play it!
I remember Libby Lu ❤️ I don't think I had a party but I remember going there with my mom when she tried to cheer me up
Link not knowing for sure that Libby Lu was real says everything we need to know about Lily because she was the Target age group
im pretty sure she is a little too young for it

Im the same age as Links daughter if not a year older and i had no idea what Libby Lu was.
Club Libby Lu was a fever dream I forgot about. There's a picture of seven year old me in too much makeup and a very tight crop top that should never surface
I am absolutely begging for a podcast ep or something of rhett and link learning about DnD, making characters, and playing a session
For some reason, Rhett seems to perform better when there's food on the line...
Everyday I miss Libby Lu. I have a very distinct memory of going to a bday party at Libby Lu in MOA and after we did our makeup and costumes went into the hall and danced to Mambo No. 5
My little sister actually had a birthday party at Club Libby Lu when she was younger lol. It was actually a little store inside a department store lol
Libby Lu was in Arizona because I still have the bag I got from my birthday party when I was little and it was still around!

Gander RV, formerly Gander Mountain, Inc. and Gander Outdoors, Inc., is a retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor recreation products and services.
I've gotten many a gift from things remembered, and was really shocked that gander mtn shut down.
I’ve bought many things from “Things Remembered” but not for many years. They still have them at a few large malls in New England.
Our Gander Mountain turned into a trampoline park thing a few years back.
Should be trying to go to bed here in Aus. Watching this is better.
One of the best GMMores I’ve seen! Loved it!
I WAS OBSSESED WITH LIBBY LU. MEMORY UNLOCKED!
80% of the birthday parties I went to in my youth were at club libby lu
The things remembered in the malls near me were all vestibules (or whatever) in the middle of the mall so I never trusted them. I’ve never seen one that’s a full-blown store you walk into.
We still have gander mountain, Libby Lou and things remembered.....or as of 2 years ago we did in Texas

A Mythical tabletop gaming session would be awesome to watch.
Still have a Things Remembered in the mall by me too
Carney is my favorite team member to have on the show
We had gander mountain in Buffalo, NY but they weren't a mall store. They had standalone buildings not near malls here.

There is still a Gander Mountain in PA!
