As a staunch patriotic Tennessean from the Western Half, I actually had a great great grandad who fought at the battle of shiloh (he was 15) and survived through the war, he died around Oct. 1914 after serving in what we called an army during our ‘pre-war’ years before WW1. He was a lieutenant in the US army. My grandad has a picture of him in his house, hanging up on the living room wall. Henry Carlson is his name. And also, although I’m a staunch believer of the union cause, damn this song is catchy. (I tried looking him up and nothing showed up)
